oh yes, laliek, you can move to a midwife at 24 weeks. they need you to see a gynae for the 12 week downs scan and the 20 week anomaly scan. then they are happy to take over. you will have one last gynae check at 36 weeks to check position of the baby, level of fluid etc

Laliek, I was just so excited to be pregnant and so nervous about blighted ovum or something so I was anxious for the first scan.
She told DH to wait in her room until she found the heartbeat. Then she called him in and said "ok there it is", removed the probe and left the room. so my "emotional" moment never happened and I left there feeling like I missed out on something special!!

My neighbour is pregnant and I was telling her you like Dr Moller (she wants to go to fourways life). is he an older man?

Lol Meags it's strange that you should mention that. I heard of a woman who went to Dr Wypkema and she told her that her hormones are all over the place and she feels a bit low and down and Dr Wypkema's response was: "Maybe it's just your personality". I would slap the woman if she said that to me lol. Goodness!

Hapi I hope you come right with Dr! Wilgeheuwel is actually very very close to my house but I don't really know the gynaes there and I heard really good things about this Dr Moller at Fourways so I decided to go with him, although it's a little bit further.

My dream birth option will be the route Ankia mentioned - I'd love to birth at Genesis Clinic and I'm considering a waterbirth but I'll see closer to the time. I think you can stick with a gynae for the first few weeks and then move to a midwife later - is that what you did Ankia?

Dr Lindeque said he doesnt deliver babies anymore, not since the last 8 years he said.

Everyone I spoke to, does not recommend Krugersdorp I suppose Wilgeheuwel will be my next best option.

hehe Meags - I only go to her when I need to, and I only go to her because se is a lady, luckily I only have to see her only once a year. And she will not deliver my children as my son was born with a midwife attending and that will happen with the rest as well.

Ankia I saw your gynae when I was first pregnant and was very offended by her so never went back!!!
Funny how each person has a different perspective on their gynae's

Dr. Rooy if I am not mistaking does not deliver babies anymore

I was with dr Labuschagne(spelling) he is is the same rooms as Lindeque, and I did not like him, he was not pro-natural, so I moved. But my sister in-law was with Lindeque and she liked him. You can stay with him, because he does deliver babies.
Or you can move to Elmarie Wypkema(she is my gynie, if I am not pregnant, she loves c-sections), she is also at Wilgeheuwel.
