Thanx everyone on the advice, i think i have decide that we will not be going on the holiday i just wish ppl would stop asking if we are going. and understand where i'm coming from.

1st time mommy - every mommy-to-be wants to buy clothes and stuff for their babies. I don't think any of us can wait till our baby showers either lol

Joey your little one is growing so nicely. On the trip- I think it depends on you and what birth you are gonna have. But besides that I think exposing bubs to the outside (germs etc) when they so young wouldnt be good. I would wait until they are at least a month old. But also bear in mind your 6 week check up. We are planning our first holiday next year when bubs will be 7 or 8 months.

Lizel how are you?

AFM- Well was real nice to see bubs yesterday. But also nerve wrecking to hold your breath when the scan is being done. Shame the doc was so sensitive. And he explained everything in such detail. So we really know where we are standing now. Turns out I actually have two openings in my cervix but he could only stitch one because if he stitched the other one it would have punctured the placenta. He says my cervix is still shorter than what he would like. So he said I really need to take it easy. And he booked me off further until the end of the month. Gave me some other tablets extra to help the uterus relax more. He wants us to reach the golden mark of bubs weighing 1kg. Michael now weighs 720g. So we almost there. So now my hubby and family are even more strict with me. bedrest really aint easy lol I am not complaining and will gladly do it for Michael but its just not easy to ask everyone for help. Hubby says I must just accept that everyone wants to help. Gynae doesnt want to talk about our birth plan until I am near the end. I suppose he doesnt want me to get my hopes up.

Thanks for everyone's warm wishes. This little man must stay put even if I have to stand on my head lol

Joey, baby is going to be a nice healthy weight. I also wont travel but it all depends on how you feel and if you and hubby are copeing cause if baby has colic you are going to get not alot of sleep ask me I would know

We got some fabulous news yesterday!!! My DH's brother and his wife are pregnant! It was a complete surprise, and they are terrified but I am so happy! Now, I just hope they can move a little closer to us...otherwise we might just have to move to CT! She is due in April. So happy, that's 2 cousins for this LO!

We are doing well. I cleaned the house on Monday, like usual, and didn't sleep at all on Monday night because my hips were so sore. Yikes. So I really need to do my Pilates, that helps. Know how you feel, Elrike! It's so painful. Also, this baby is so active! Was trying to nap now, while my DS has his nap but baba had different plans! Was kicking me so hard, I couldn't sleep!

Mariet - Awesome that baby is doing so well. You've done well with the weight gain! I like Ethan, but Ephen just sounds like Ethan pronounced wrong. You know how some people can't say "th" and say "f" instead? Sounds like that. (sorry, you said be honest)

Wow, Joey. Can't believe how big your baby is! Are you the first who's going to pop? As for the trip...newborns can deal with pretty much anything. As long as they're fed, they're usually pretty happy (unless you have a colic baby) The problem with traveling that early on is usually you as the mom. If you're still healing from the birth, you don't want to be stuck in a car. Also, it's nice to get settled into a routine at home with your new family. I wouldn't recommend travelling before baba is 2 months old. By then, you're all used to each other.

Glad to hear baby is ok, Chanz! You're almost at the 28 week mark! Let us know what you're doc says.

Hi Elrike! Ai man, jammer om te hoor van jou pyn...hoop die preggy pillow help daarmee. Op die oomblik slaap ek nog net met 'n gewone kussing tussing die bene, maar sal seker later ook maar so iets moet aanskaf.

Chanz - jy sal ons laat skrik jong!!! Bly als is darem okay met baba, sjoe, ek kan dink jy't groot geskrik. Dis darem wonderlik om te hoor daar is nog sulke dierbare dokters! Sterkte met die sooibrand....

AFM: We went to the dr on Monday, was soooo cute to see our little boy!! Here's a pic as well.... And wow, he's kicking up a storm, goodness, I've been feeling him all morning since I woke up. And DH felt him move for the first time on Sunday morning! When he kicks hard, my whole tummy moves. So cute!

1st time mom Bug them all i bought lost before i was even 20weeks. so enjoy all the shopping. dont wait till you are 8 month cos you are going to be to tired to do any shopping then. I know i can only work around the shops for about 2hours now with out getting tired.

We had our scan on thurday last week and baby is already weighing in at 2kg eeek

Can as a Q. my Family are planning to go away on the 4 - 7 November it hazyview which is about a 4 hour drive from me, and they dont seam to understand why i dont want to commit to going. Bean at the most will be 5 weeks old but more likely 3weeks.

What age would you take you baby on a long trip like this?
