Hi 2KM

I had a cerclage with my daughter. It was put in at 17 weeks. It was removed in theatre during the C-section at 39 weeks. My gynae kept postponing taking out the stitch. Initially he had said he will take it out at 37 weeks. At 37 weeks he said he feared that I would go into labour immediately after he took the stitch out. He believes that a baby should stay put for as long as possible which was fine with me as I also wanted my baby to choose her date of birth.

I wanted to have a natural birth but it wasn't possible because I had a myomectomy before. I had a fibroid which was 15cm in diameter right inside the uterus. According to my gynae since the fibroid was very big and right inside the uterus, it increased my chances of uterus rupture during pregnacy and esp if i had natural birth.
Since I couldn't have natural birth I told my gynae that I didn't want my baby delivered earlier than she wanted to come. So we agreed that I had to go the hospital as soon as I felt any contractions. So I went into natural labour at least and my baby chose her date of birth.

I am on ecotrin. I was on it with my daughter as well.

Anybody on Ecotrin? I had to take Ecotrin in my last pregnancy and I asked the doctor if I should take it again and he said yes so I started taking it yesterday.

Welcome, please do drop in more often. Did you have a cerclage with your daughter too? I am interested to know because my Cousin has had one wiht her second pregnancy after losing her baby boy at 24 weeks. She is about 35 weeks now and due to have her stictch out on the 10th of November. What I was wondering was did you go into spontaneous labour after the stitch was removed or did you go into labour only after the stictch was removed?

I am 7 weeks 1 day today.

I must say I will not look forward to if and when the MS starts. Before I was pregnant, whenever i would get nauseas from something then i felt like i couldnt do anything and all i want to do is just lay down.

I am fortunate to have a nice boss, who will allow me to sleep or lay down on the couches here. She already lets me takes snoozes during the day when i need to heheh

@ Mybrat, it's not normally due to start till around 7 weeks. There are only a few people that get it earlier than that. I think because I have had it twice I am very aware of the feeling and so I know it's MS eventhough it's very mild. I think if it were my first pregnancy I probably wouldn't even notice it. The ladies that have it bad may be suffering from something called Hypermesis Gravidarum (Firefly, this may be why you have it so badly so early) I wouldn't worry at all Mybrat, just be glad you have the reprieve for now.... You might bite your tongue next week

I rarely post but I do follow the birth club. I am 8w1d, edd 29 May. I think it will be another C-section for me but I will go into natural labour like i did with my first child. She is 14 months.

I have already seen the gynae twice. I saw the heart beat at exactly 6 weeks. My third appointment is on the 20th of October, we will discuss the date of putting in the cerclage.
