Missy that is shocking! I mean no medical grounds except maybe he had a lunch date he wanted to make??? I'm so sorry you got bullied into it:(

Missy where did you give birth? I am not a huge St George's fan:( The nurses were horrible to me when I was there.

Losing weight...good luck:) How much weight do you want to lose? I should have gone that route before falling preggies...lol. But it helped me be focused and not put on unnecessary weight now. Hoping to tackle weight after the birth.

Missy what happened with your friend? Did she go into labour??????

My husband is from PE and so my in laws are there, giving birth in PE is also an option for me.
Doctors who are pro-VBAC though tend not to be so pro after more than one c-section.
This is my experience with both doctors I approached. I could consider birthing in PE because of better hospitals.....mhmm, now you making me think.
My midwife did a homebirth with a woman after 3 c sections and they had the public hospital as a back up.

But then if I go to PE, I would need a home to birth in coz I won't be able to do so at my mother in law's.

Yes, Missy, sounds like your doctor definitely pressured you.
I had a similar experience....twice with the same doctor....

Simone, if it is covering the cervix then a section would be the only way to go.... though I hope the condition clears up.
Good going on keeping the weight low girl.

Will keep you guys updated though

LMAO -nope not trying to conceive - trying to lose all the extra kilo's first.

That is sooooo nice to know about Potgieter :) as i would definitely like to have a VBAC with my second baby. My lg is 16 months now so i think it could be early...

Yes i know about the placenta rupturing... Not to scare you or anything but just for information purposes that happened to my colleague but they neva detected anything until she lost the baby at 32 weeks..

My waters broke at 4 on a Saturday and i was 2cm dilated at 05:00am at the maternity ward. i was 36 weeks preggy..... he came at 9.30 to check me and i was 3cm dilated.. wen he did an internal he said her head is very high and i must consider a c-sec.

i was telling him to give me more time so i went on the birthing ball hoping that the head would drop. Anyway at about 12 he came to check me and i was 5cm dilated and he now said that i should rather go for a caesar.

So i was fighting with him< i told him baby is not even in distress y must i go? so he kept saying before baby goes into distress and im long in labour already etc etc.

when i think about it now he just opted for a caesar there was nothing wrong with me, no high blood pressure, no distress, dilating was abit slow but the there was progress. He couldve induced me - baby's head wouldve dropped.

And after begging and begging he said it won't be so bad etc etc and he talked to my mom and husband and had them convince me. i wish i knew then what i know now.... and i believe having a midwife with you really helps because then you can't be bullied in to any situation.

But anyway i really hope to have my VBAC next......

Hope the placenta problem clears so that you can also have your VBAC

Hi Missy

Potgieter actually told me about a successful VBAC he had recently...so I really didnt feel he wouldnt support me if I opted to have one. He just told me there are strict conditions they set for a vbac ito how fast you need to dilate, etc.

But that aside, if my placenta remains low (as it is completely covering cervix), i have to have a c-section. Neferetti also said so when I posted on here originally. The placenta could rupture and I can bleed/baby can die if I go into labour (worst case scenario).

Natasha Andrews said she is not taking on any more pregnancy cases this year as I tried her first after moving from Dalmeyer.

My friend is with Dr Marais...I know she isnt too thrilled with him. Why do you feel he forced you into a c-section? She is due next month and hoping to try natural.

Hi

yes im also in PE my gynae was Pieter Marais but i won;t go back to him as i feel like he forced me into my caesar.

Anyway i dont think Potgieter likes to take the risk of a VBAC as another lady i know had her child 3 years ago and he didnt want to.

if you really want a VBAC get hold of Michelle Van der Weisthuisen she is a midwife and im sure she can refer you to a pro vbac gynae.

What about Natasha Andrews at St Georges..... if tehre is a possibility that you can have a VBAC then explore it sweety. only if you and the midwife and atleast 2 gynaes don't feel its ok then opt for a caesar.

all the best
