Crappy thing is on this medical aid I am only allowed 4 visits that they will pay for and 1 routine scan, so Im kinda limited with the visits and dont want to waste them. Im doing research now in going to a maternity home and doing a scan early and making the appointment for 22 weeks.

Hey just popping in here. Boomboom Dr Basson is at Christaan Barnard and I saw her when I was on Key care. As far as I know she is one of their docs. She is fantastic. Let me know if you want her number.

The receptionist needs a lesson on anternatel care, because 22 weeks is a very long time away, even for me.

Maybe you can see Dr. Pandie for your first visit, and then go to Dr. Benecke at 22 weeks and eveything esle? Who knows, you might like Dr. Pandie.

I do agree that the receptionist was extremely rude!

Sjoe, I am so cross right now!I just called Dr. Benecke's office to make an appoitnment for 13/14 weeks. Receptionists asked the following:

Recep:Is it your first time visiting doc?
Me: Yes it is
Recep: Are you pregnant or routine checkup?
Me: Pregnant
Recep: How far are you?
Me: I think 9 weeks
Recep: The earliest I can see you is at 22 weeks
Me: WOW, thats a very long time to wait, cant you squeeze me in somewhere before then?
Recep: No thats the earliest
Me: Please is there nothing else, from 9 weeks to 22 weeks is a really long time
Recep: There are only so many patients we can see, and if you cant wait that long then you have to find a other gynae.

I'm like woah!What a rude person!What now ladies?I am on the Discovery Keycare Plus Plan, and they only allow a certain few that you can go to, Doc Benecke and Doc Pandie were my only 2 choices at Christiaan Barnard. I dont want to go to the other hospitals, Dr Pandie is an old retired doc so I dont know about going with him.

What do you ladies think?Im so upset right now, I cant believe people can be that rude!I mean really, I too am a receptionist and if you cant be nice to people who phone in you shouldnt be answering the phones, even if the next person is rude to you, you suppose to keep your calm. And I wasnt even rude!

I've decided to go for a scan at 8weeks rather.. I don't think I'll be able to wait till 14 weeks anymore after hearing that everyone goes much earlier.

I don't feel pregnant, no symptoms yet. although I pretend to have fatigue when I have to do house work

Isha, forgot to reply on your scan that has been moved up. That is such awesome news man. Very exciting news indeed
