Isha, I get what you saying regarding the touching of the belly. I don't like it when strangers just come up & touch it. It's invasion of my personal space but ja, I won't say anything rude to them hehehe. I'm okay with family doing it. How you feeling today?
Sjoe, seems like the fatigue got you good. Glad you had a good weekend. Just hectic having strange men on the property. Glad you guys are okay.

Ms_S, I prefer to do an earlier scan just to see that heartbeat, even if baby still looks like a little tadpole The dr could pick up my lg's heartbeat when I was just 5 weeks preggies - flickered on the ultrasound & even though it was still early days, it made me feel a bit more at ease. I'm going for my 1st gynae appointment when I'll be 7 weeks. I will never hold out till 13 weeks!!!

BB, your lg sounds so cute. Well, let us know if she is right about getting a sister. I will take my daughter with when I'm past 13 weeks. Can't wait to see her expression when you go for a scan............. Shame, seems like your brother had a tough time with your lg. She took a long time warming up to him but luckily she did
My daughter has 2 boy cousins(13 years old) & 2 girls(1 turning 9 & the other one turning one), then all my close cousins all have BOYS!!!!

Marijke, Welcome & congratulations.
Wish I could stay at home with 2nd one - not possible this time. I gave 24 hours notice when I had my daughter & was lucky enough to be at home with her until she was 1year & 7 months!!!!!!! It was tough financially towards the end but so rewarding spending that time with her. It is so awesome that your bestie is so close with the pregnancy as you. Me & my close friend started the ttc adventure together but unfortunately she is still not pregnant. Still hoping & praying that we will be able to be preggies together even if it's a few months apart.

AFM, no MS, some fatigue but not bad where I'm fighting to keep my eyes open. I felt very tired yesterday afternoon but somehow survived the day without a nap. I do go to bed earlier now & can't manage the late nights as before. We had a nice weekend. Just visited my mil on saturday afternoon & before that, we went to visit my hubby's dad who we haven't seen for many, many years as they never really had a good relationship. They also haven't seen my daughter at all, which is very sad cause she is turning 5 in oct. Hopefully things will change now as she only has 2 grannies, 1 which she sees almost every weekend & my mother lives in Mosselbay so she doesn't see her that much but luckily my mother came up about a month ago so she got to spend alot of quality time with my daughter. Yesterday, we just stayed at home the whole day & watched movies...

WOW Marijke, you are the furthest along! Seems like most of us would like little girls.
WE SHARE A BIRTHDAY!!! I took leave for my birthday, gonna spend the day relaxing.

I wish i was brave enough to be a stay at home mom. Maybe one day soon i can do a half day job.

Ms_S, why dont you to a GP for scans they are half the price than the gynaes.

AFM: went to visit my cousins and Aunt that came from Mekkah on saturday. But i was so exhausted i couldnt stay long to listen to their experience.
Saturday i slept from 8-8 LOL. Didnt seems like enough sleep tho. DH woke me up to tell me there is men in the yard so i got all worked up cause he was waiting for his brother to come around so they could drive around to the back to check out what was happening. Totally freaks me out that someone was on our property.

Had a good relaxing day by the in laws yesterday. Had lunch and went to lay with the BIL trying to watch TV, but fell asleep like after 20min i guess .

OOO some other news, gynae called this morning to move my appointment. He will be taking leave in the 30 April, so now i will be seeing him next week tuesday at 16:00. So excited i will be 9weeks and a few days. (i think)

Hi Everyone!

I'm also due in November, the 8th to be exact which makes me 10 weeks 2 days today.

We are very excited and hoping for another girl because our little girl Bianca (2years 8months) is surrounded by boys. At her daycare she's the only girl in her age group of 13 - so 12 boys and only 1 girl! Thinking about it now, it doesn't really matter anymore because I gave notice on Friday and she won't be going back there again.

Had our first scan at 8 weeks and going back on my birthday the 2nd of May for the 12/13 week scan. Had an interview for a replacement during last week because I won't be going back to work. I was a stay at home mom with B till she was 15 months old, then I started working and now I'm done (for now anyway will revisit when the kids are older)

My best friend since high school is also due in November, she's two weeks behind me, hopefully she'll also find her way here. So that's even more exciting.

No MS and the extreme tiredness is also starting to fade. So that's me!

Congrats to all of you too and hope we'll have a wonderful journey together!

Hey Ladies

Been a hectic day and wasnt able to log on till now...Auditors are coming for 2 weeks from Monday so everything has to be in order, been busy since I got in this morning and all the numbers and invoices are making me dizzy!

Ms_S it is quite long to wait, this is my 2nd pregnancy...My first time I found out when I was 5 weeks and went for my first scan at 9, nothing to see but a little dot and then at 14 weeks I saw a real live baby, moving around and all its fingers, toes, legs and arms which was amazing...My LG is now 3 years and this time I found out when I was 2 weeks pregnant, I am now about 8 weeks and still havent gone for my first scan, planning to go when we can see an actual baby and not a dot coz I would like my daughter to be going with and she wont understand why is there a dot and no baby!LOL, she is just so smart and says the darnest things so I want her to be involved in my pregnancy and baby from the word go. She is so excited, she is set that she is going to have a sister so I sure hope it is going to be a little sister for her to play with..All her cousins are boys, although last year November she got a girl cousin so the baby is not much fun for her yet but she is also slowly getting there.

yeah Medical aids are quite a rip off, you would think we pay so much every month we wouldnt need to fight at the end of it all but yet we do have to. and then sometimes they dont even cover everything. My first pregnancy I was on a Fedhealth hospital plan which worked out great for us, paid all our gynae appointments with cash and the big hospital bills were covered fully which was a blessing as I was really worried about that. I had to cancel my medical aid when my daughter was about 6 months old as I stopped worked and had to cut costs. This time I joined Discovery Keycare Plus Plan and hoping to get a good experience again and that they will be paying for all the doc visits and the hospital bills. So really keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

About people rubbing my tummy, I dont mind it, i feel good, but a stranger but feel a bit weird but I wont feel offended either. My siblings all gather at my parents house on saturday night where we all have supper and then my brother would sit all evening with me rubbing my tummy...He was so excited to have his own kids, when I found I was pregnant it was just a week before his wedding day. Now he has his own little guy and how adorable he is too. Funny thing is he use to rub my tummy the most when I was pregnant but when my daughter came, she wasnt too comfortable with him!But eventually after like a year she started to warm up to him, he probably rubbed my tummy too much causing her alot of disturbances in my tummy, lol...

Anyways I think I said enough for today...Im leaving the office now, thank goodness!Enjoy the weekend ladies...

I really can't see myself paying upfront or extra for gynie consultations. That's the reason I got med aid I'm with gems, on their emerald option. They weren't very helpful, and couldn't direct me to a private hospital that will cover me fully. I have to phone everyone now and get their price lists and codes.

I have to admit that I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to these things..I didn't know there was a difference between med aid and private hospital rates!

My gp told me to go for my first scan at 14-16 weeks, I'm thinking now that this is a little too late

Now i am excited to know what your daughter reaction is going to be.

OH NO I HATE IT, especially strangers. My family and friends know to ask first, sometimes they dont and i dont mind. But the strangers GEEEEEZ, what if i wasnt pregnant! LOL

Ms_S, Congratulations with the BFP. When I found out I was pregnant with my 1st child, I couldn't stop crying as well. I was so so happy. I was praying so hard when I did the HPT

Unfortunately, I can't advice what gynae is best as I'm in Joburg....but I'm sure you'll make the right choice.

No, I haven't told my lg yet. I'm waiting for my scan before I tell everyone. Just wanna make sure everything is okay before I tell her.
Ai, that is funny..........you clearly are showing for a stranger to just walk up to you & do that. Does it bother when strangers just come up to you & do things like that?
