Morning Ladies!
Only 6 weeks to go for me! And nursery not nearly finished

I'm still looking for ideas of what to do with the blank wall above the cot. Suggestions welcome!
Magz, I had the exact same conversation about schools with my neighbor two days ago. I was frightened out of my wits

So I investigated a bit, since I have no idea how public schools compare to private schools (I've always been of the opinion that a good public school is fine). So we have a few private schools in the area, and it does seem that you have to apply before baby is 1y/o. St Stithians, for instance, has a non refundable deposit/enrollment fee of R15,000! This is nuts! Also, baby must be in the right creche, to get in the right pre-school, to be accepted in the private school. And the poor baby has not even been born! How am I to know what her character will be like, and in what school she'll fit in the best?
What do you ladies think about schools? Anyone have experience/heard anything about private/public schools in Jhb? I just want my child to go to a school where she'll be happy, I was desperately unhappy in school and I dont wish this on my baby for all the money in the world.
Chantal, I've also heard good things about the Jnr Colleges creches, it's next on my list to check out. Montessory I've heard is great, but all of them only take from 2 years and older. I agree with Momtoc, you need to go see them all and to a large extent you have to go with your gut. Stimulation of the little ones is also important to me, as well as their policies regarding routines, feeding, diaper changes etc. For instance, do they keep records of what baby ate/didnt eat? How do they handle the food preparation (different formulae and breastmilk for different babies)? Did she have a runny tummy or were her diapers fine?
Momtoc, I feel for you! I really hope your little one adjusts quickly. Maybe she is also just very emotional about everything happening in her little life and its compounding the school issue. I'm very worried about creches and friends and leaving my LG in someone elses care as well, and her fitting in and being happy. You are right, Opti-Baby is an attractive option since we'd be able to see by webcam what is going on with my LG.
