Hi All,

Mom_Toc: I hope that you get rid of your unwanted houseguest! Very spooky

I had such a special time with my mom, she felt the baby kick which got her very excited!! :woohoo:
We did some shopping for some maternity wear, i was looking for summer pants specifically and it was great to have my mom around to help! I actually found some nice stuff at Mr Price and ended up spending very little on items that would otherwise cost me the earth just because they are labelled 'maternity'.

As for babies nursery, here is my ideas so far:
I am going to paint the room a very soft yellow colour cause it is a nice and neutral colour. Then i am going to accessorise with bold colours.
Then I am going to put a bible verse on the one wall using vinyl art.
Theme for the nursery, i am still indecisive but i am thinking of a dr seuss theme or cute characters like little ducks, hippos, bears etc.
Once i have decided on the theme then i am going to have a craft day where friends and family will come over and help paint it or mod podge it. I am going to use canvas blocks that i can hang up on the wall to decorate then i can change the theme anytime i want to as baby grows up :)

That is the plan so far......

I am now 6 1/2 months and everything is going fine. Sometimes i feel baby turn so quickly, i can't believe that she can move that quickly inside there? Each week i can see a gradual growth of my bump, so many people have a set idea of what size a bump should be at certain weeks. I was starting to worry that maybe baby is not growing but the midwife was happy with my bump progress. So i am happy.

Does anyone know of or recommend a good daycare or creche that will take babies from 3mths onwards in the Sunninghill area?

Ms_S myself and hubby have only spent at the most 4 days apart during marriage like now he`s going to PE on the 25th.and when we were dating we actually worked together so he would drive me home. if we werent married and living together i dont think i would have issues but now im not too sure if i can. but if he got a good opportunity else where i wouldnt stand in his way and we would make it work.

Mosaneo, I did the long distance thing for 2 years before I got married. My dh was in Australia, then in Durban and then in Limpopo. While I just stayed in Cpt to finish my studies. I didn't really find it difficult. We will be long distance again for 4 months when I go back to Cpt for my maternity leave, I can't wait

Momtoc, I hope the house guest leaves soon. I don't think I would pay anyone R1500 to cleanse the house, I'll rather just live with the spirit. I hope your daughter gets better soon, and you find a solution to the nanny/daycare problem. R5000 a month? You can't be serious, that's almost private school rates! I've picked up 10kg so far

AFM my MIL is leaving the weekend, after she overheard me tell my dh that I can't wait for her to go home :S I didn't mean to say it in a nasty way, I just meant that I can't wait to be alone again. She's been here for 3 weeks now, and was only planning to leave end of the month. All she does is cook and clean, and I'm grateful to have her around, but sometimes I just feel like being on my own (which is normal). Obviously what I said was wrong, especially if you overhear it (I don't know how she heard, our room door was closed and I was talking softly in my dh's ear), and I apologised. Ah well, the damage is done. She got a ticket for Saturday afternoon. Only now dh is also upset with me...'cos how could I say that about he's mother'.

i just want a moment alone with my man and babies this festive season. my mom is coming but for about a week immediately after baby comes, then mom inlaw as well for maybe a week or so.

Hi Ladies,

I love it when everyone comes together and chat. Its like there is a plan where things go quiet and then there is alot of movement, lol maybe out baba's are communicating somehow

Mandri your Vinyl looks great, you are so organized keep up the good work.

Pale i also haven't gotten any stuff yet i am waiting for Nov since i am a third time mom i know exactly what to get so i will go out one day and get everything at once. Hopefully baby stays put until then. Getting a nanny works for me great my daughter goes to school half day and she stays home with my LB then she is back lunch time and someone is there. Whats great is that she also takes care of her during school holiday. It save us on a lot of aftercare costs plus she does house work.

Momtoc glad baba is doing great and growing big and tall since baba is 1kg you can add that to your 2kgs weight gain :P , remember also the placenta and and water retention also adds to the weight so don't count the weight too much, you will loose a couple of kilos when baby comes. How did you daughter take it, i am sure she was excited. I want to take my daughter next Fri i will be 28wks.

Magz shame i am sorry about your granddad my condolences to you and your family i will keep you in my thought and prayers. Take it easy and try not to stress too much (Huuuugggggzzzzzzz)

Ms_S sorry about your leg hope it comes right soon. It must be the extra weight i also get the pain at night sometimes it even wakes me up.

Masaneo it must be difficult having a long distance relationships hopefully something comes up in Cape Town so that you can be with your man.

Magz, so so sorry to hear about your loss. It's never an easy thing. Hope you & baby are doing ok under the circumstances?
My granddad also passed away a month before both my sisters boys were born. They would've been his 1st great grandchildren :(
Stay strong girl (HUGS)

pales, I'm in the same boat as you regarding getting a nanny or not versus day care. I'm terrible & don't want anybody to look after my babies when they are still so small lol. That is why I resigned when I had my lg. I was fortunate to stay at home until she was 19 months & it was pure torture sending her to creche. Unfortunately I won't be able to stay at home for that long & my only option now is sending him to creche & it's gonna be freaking expensive cause my daughter will be doing her Gr R in the same creche as baby. It's gonna cost me over R5000 a month for the both of them!!!!! I just want to run away..........

Ms_S, ai, pregnant & on crutches......how nice is that now! Hope your leg gets better. I wanna smack my dh against the head because he can't give me any names. I'm the only one bringing up names & then he can't give me a proper yes or no & I really want a name before my baby shower next month....

mosaneo, I don't know how you guys do this long distance thing.........I just can't hey. I will NOT make it being so far from dh.

How much weight have all of you picked up so far?

As for the unwanted guest in our house..........
My aunt spoke to her friend that has the ability to see & speak to spirits & she told my aunt that it's not my hubby's gran that there. It is indeed an older lady but she couldn't see her face clearly. She is a dweller that goes from one house to another but she's been stuck in my mil's house for way too long now.... She said I must burn lavender incence & a white candle together in each room & also close to water.....like in the bathroom & kitchen.
We've been doing it for 3 nights so far & will see how it goes. My aunt said I was take a days leave to go & see that lady(I've spoken to her on the phone & on emails before but never met her) & maybe then she can make a better connection with the spirit......
I've also managed to find someone that does cleansing of homes & that can also communicate with the spirits but she asks R1500 to come out :woohoo: It is just too expensive & on top of that, my daughter hasn't settled into creche as I've hoped. She cried this morning & said she doesn't want to go. It just breaks my  cause she has to go & I know it will get better with time........
