palesa, that is how I was eating with my 1st pregancy. I was so health conscience but now......ai, the sweet stuff is killing me. I do make sure I get fruits, vegs, wholewheat etc in but I'm not eating as I should.
I don't think you should stress too much cause you were suffering from MS in the beginning & lost weight but you eating well. Maybe get some oily stuff in here & there ;) :P

Hello girls

Clueless, your 4D scan looks amazing. She is so gorgeous!!!! She is a good weight hey!!!
The nursery looks beautiful, especially with the blue. It's such a soft, tranquil colour - I just love it & your theme sounds beautiful as well.
Regarding weight - you are already 29 weeks & they say you start gaining alot of weight from 20 weeks onwards, especially in your last trimester as that's when baby starts fattening out (so to speak) :-)
Your weight gain sounds normal to me. On average a women is suppose to pick up between 12-15 but they also say if you were on the very skinny side, you can gain more & if you are a bit overweight, you should gain steadily & not gain excess weight BUT each woman is different. I picked up about 12 kilos with my 1st pregnancy & lost about 8 immediately after giving birth & with my 2nd pregnancy I've picked up about 4.7 so far which is strange as I've been eating terrible this whole pregnancy through & eating too much sugary stuff & I know I need to slow down as I'm gonna start packing on the weight now seeing that I'm nearing the 3rd trimester but like the sister said, luckily my body has been using all those extra calories & not storing it but she is happy with the weight gain so far.

palesa, sjoe, only 2 kilos this whole pregnancy!!!!! :woohoo: Aren't you eating well or did you suffer from MS in the beginning of your pregnancy(sorry, I can't remember hehe) How much is baby weighing now? I know with my 1st pregnancy I wasn't gaining the way I was suppose to when I was in my 2nd trimester but my lg was picking up, so the doc wasn't worried & I was eating healthy....

Mandri, your nursery sounds beautiful. I love dark wood - big fan of it. Good luck with getting everything ready. I still have no clue what we gonna do

Magz, I wish I was that active man..... I only started going to the gym last week as I wasn't feeling well in my 1st trimester & then winter came when I was in the 2nd lol. I didn't feel like going out in the cold at night, especially with my lg but I'll slowly get my arse into gear..

Morning ladies...

clueless and Mandri, maybe i should get you ladies in to help with my nursery. I keep changing my mind every other week about what i want *sigh*. But i've atleast bought the big furniture pices (cot, compactum, shelves). Also struggling to find a nice affordable chair...but still looking.

With regards to the weight gain, i also think it depends where you started. I am quiet active (spinning and running) and started with a relatively good body fat % and weight. i'm still active now and try go to the gym atleast 3 or 4 times a week but i've still gained what others may concider alot of weight - 9kg @ week 27.
I'm really not stressing about it because i feel very good and energetic too :woohoo:

As my Dr says, "just as there is no 'average baby'...there is no average mommy too".
We are all unique and special and shouldnt be too stressed by average guidelines.

hope you all have a happy and healthy day!

Thanks Clueless! I was also looking for old chairs to get re-upholstered, but keep missing the monthly auction. Looked at a pawn shop but they didn't have anything that would work. I have a old recliner chair at work that the leather isn't nice anymore, but hubby said I should leave it here to use it when I'm back at work and breastfeeding. Will browse the internet again today, maybe I can find a old wingback on Bid or Buy or OLX.

Regarding the weight issue, most books and doctors say 12 - 15kg, but that is also dependent on every person. I for one am someone that picks up fairly easily, so I will probably go over that. I also think most weight gain is in the last trimester when baby is fattening up a bit.

Mandri, your nursery is going to be beautiful! Please also keep sending pics! I've also looked at feeding chairs and they are ridiculously expensive. And you're probably only going to be using it for feeding for 5 months, if that! Afterwards it will just be a comfi chair in baby's room! So in the end I decided to take one of our old longe chairs and rather just have that re-covered. It works out at half the price, and the lady can match the colors of our nursery, so win-win!

Palesa, I feel your pain! I've also just started to really "look pregnant" about 2-3 weeks ago, before that I just looked fat :( Would much rather look like a real pregnant lady! But on the upside, this is probably better for my back (I struggle with back pain due to old injury).

I've gained 7 kg so far, and is about 29 weeks now. My Dr weighs me every time, but doesnt really remark on my weight, just says as long as I pick up steadily, and baby's growing, its fine.

Makes me wonder... How much is average/normal to pick up at this stage? How much have you other ladies picked up? All the sites say about 12-15kg in total, but does one usually pick up the bulk of that in the 3rd Trimester, or is it a steady weight gain from the 1st trimester? LAdies with 2nd/3rd babies, what's been your experience?
