Morning ladies, how is everyone doing. I wonder if there is an issue with the site that we are not receiving update notices via email, or are you ladies getting them now? I still am not.

@STK I also have a tree in my nursery, bit different from yours, its an oak tree and painted in the corner so I must say I LOVE your tree too, looks soooo nice!

I found lovely owl fabric this weekend to make bedding with, and we are putting up a border in the nursery as well which has owls o nit too. Have posted a pic below, thats the middle thing and then the zigzag will just be to complement the owls. Anyway, time is going by so fast, will definitely need to start getting things in order.

Have you ladies had any discussions with friends/family regarding a baby shower? I really feel every child should have their own special things so even if this is not a first I still think they deserve their own baby shower, so even if I have to organize mine myself, I will still do it, might just get someone else to host it - think it would be weird if I hosted my own.

Anyway, we see the doc at 11 today, so hoping everything goes well. @JLK that little boy of yours looks so cute with his straight leggies and like my husband would say, a good set of calves as well

I was quite surprised to get a call from Dischem on Friday to say that we can collect our bag - since they said (when we registered) that I will only be eligible for it after I've reached the 28Week mark. But either way I'm not complaining

@JLK, I've seen many YouTube videos where the baby is born with the umbilical cord wrapped around their necks - and then the midwife/doc simple "unhooks" the cord... I also never really thought it to be harmless. I'm hoping you will have nothing to worry about in terms of the umbilical cord being wrapped around his neck.
I know towards the end of the third trimester our midwife has asked that we see her every week after our 36 week appointment with our gynae - so I'm thinking its pretty normal standard to see the doc/midwife more often towards the end of the pregnancy. So JLK I dont think you have anything to stress about

The antenatal classes sounds like to much fun... I cant wait now to start our classes...lol

I cant believe how time is flying by now... before we know it its February and time for our babies to pop . I'm so excited that we already have our first confirmed date (@JLK - 1st Feb) cant wait

JLK, don't worry about the cord - even if it is around the baby's neck right now in most cases it doesn't cause a problem, my sister is a qualified midwife and she said that a lot of babies even gets born with the cord around the neck without any issues - it is mostly in the movies that the cord around the neck get over glamorised ito danger...

It is pretty normal for a gynae to see their pregnant patients more towards the end of the pregnancy - I think in the last month you need to go to them weekly for a check up and the second last months every two weeks... I know my doctor said from the next appointment onwards we will see each other a lot more.

STK - love the room, and wow that Dischem bag looks awesome. I haven't had a chance to go to Dischem to register for the baby benefits yet.

February is creeping closer.... Eek!!!

I also booked my hospital stay on Friday and went for a tour of the maternity ward... Then things just became very real to me!!! Got the list of stuff to pack into your bag etc etc.... When do we have to pack our bag?

Also started antenatal classes on Thursday and enjoyed it a lot - got some helpful hints about what to expect (physically) after baby arrived, how to sooth and calm baby etc etc and I must say after having to have dragged my hubby to the classes he really also enjoyed it a lot! Seems to be calming his nerves so we will see how the rest of the classes goes. We have the natural birth class tonight and that is the one that is freaking hubby out the most (hahahahaha.....).

How is everyone enjoying the antenatal classes? We won't be going this time around - we simply don't have time.

We went for a scan on Thursday and Benjamin is doing really well. He is measuring even bigger and already weighs approximately 1.4kg
The doc is very happy with his growth but has asked to see us every two weeks until he is born.
During the scan we could see the cord lying in front of his neck but I couldn't figure out whether it is wrapped around or just lying in front of his neck. The doc did not seem worried about it, but I've been wondering if that is not the reason that she has asked to see us more often now.

I've attached a couple of images from our scan - look at how big his feet are measuring and those thighs... we were even able to see a bit of hair on his little head!

We have booked our bed and the theater has been scheduled for 12:00 on 1 February 2016. Can't believe we have a date and time and only 11 weeks to go until we meet our little man. At this stage - being so unsure about the cord around his neck - I'm relieved that we're doing a scheduled c-section.

I've not done anything to get his room ready yet. This time of year is so busy and I feel like I'm not getting much done with all the birthday's and functions we've got to attend - it is all fun though. I'll probably only start getting everything ready when my leave starts in December - I cannot wait!
