Hi there,

I had my UIF maternity benefit claim done by UIF-Hero. He does UIF maternity benefit claims for pregnant ladies.

Going to the Department of Labour is such a schlepp! Queuing for hours, then the systems are off line, then documents are not correctly filled in....

Save yourself that hassle and contact them.

Morning Ladies, just caught up with everything everyone wrote, also completely throws me not getting the email notifications.

Sounds like everyone is doing well...considering...I told my doc about my constant blocked nose that bleeds pretty much daily and she just said "...aahhh the joys of pregnancy!" She did give me something for it though, hoping it will help.

Have to say that my cherry Melon purchases are also very handy for me, its really the only work clothes I fit into since my little man is HUGE!

@JLK - our company policy is also to go on leave a month before the baby is due, but in all honesty that is really at the mngr's discretion. With my first little boy I worked till the day before I had him. I think the fact that I sit in front of a computer all day not really doing hard labor (no pun intended) helps out in that regard. I am again planning on working till quite close to my due date. And if I do have to stop working before my due date I am going to have my doc write me a sick note so that I can still get my 4 months with the baby after he is born. We have started saving for when the baby is born but in all honesty I don't think we would be able to manage me taking much more than the time I am already planning to take off financially not getting two full paychecks.

Hoping everyone has a good week!

@STK, I have low muscle tone which causes my left hip joint to dislocate on occasion and then pop back in and pinch the outer edge of the labrum. My low muscle tone also exacerbates my lordosis and slight scoliosis, so I end up having near constant bursitis in my left hip bursa - which is very inconvenient if you have to sleep exclusively on your left side! I've been pretty lucky and my hip hasn't popped out much during my pregnancy (so far), but climbing any sort of step/stairs or getting up from sitting has become a mission. I feel ancient...

I really wanted my baby shower 12 Dec, but had to schedule it for 16 Jan :( Hope I make it! Think early Dec is ideal for anyone due in Feb - perfect timing!

Mia's kicks have become so hard now - and she seems to have discovered my kidneys  - that she keeps me awake some of each night. She's kicked me a couple times that I've wanted to cry. She put up such a show last night I caught myself 'sushing' her and rubbing my tummy - and then realising that wouldn't really help :P first 'mommy soothing' moment.

Think it's time for some bump pics again! I'll take one on Thursday when I'm 28w :)

Morning All,

I generally feel like an old lady at the moment, hahahahaha... Had such a busy weekend and I can simply not keep up any more

Sorted out a chest of drawers for Karmi's room on Saturday and afterward we went to "Afrikaans is Groot" and then on Sunday we did out monthly grocery shopping and after that I was game over!!!

STK having the shower earlier rather than later is better I think - it will give us a chance to wash all the little one's clothes and blankets etc etc before baby comes (without being too rushed....) and cutting it too close to the due date, when you're at your most uncomfortable, which only means that everyone else except for you will enjoy it - and after all the shower is about you and baby and no one else.... Having mine on the 12th of December

As for the wardrobe... I am okay for now, must say my cherry melon purchase from earlier on is coming in very handy as almost nothing else fits me.... but if this bump doubles in size I might start having a problem. What gets to me is the fact that simple tasks like, towel drying your feet, picking up something that you dropped on the floor or even putting on nail polish on my toes is becoming a little bit of an issue for me!!!!

Morning ladies,

How is everyone feeling?
I must say now that I'm into the last trimester I'm always so tired - I used to have so much energy and then its like someone flipped a switch and all of a sudden I need 20hours of sleep per day. Not sure how I'm going to get through my 8hours at the office each day :( Anyone else feeling it?

My sister is arranging my baby shower for the 13Dec. We were hoping to catch everyone before they go on leave, but apparently most of the guests' companies close the 11th of Dec and then everyone is going on holiday - so not sure how many people will actually attend the shower in the end. Its so difficult to choose a date that satisfies everyone, cause the only other appropriate date is close to end Jan (after schools open) but then the last thing I will have energy for is a baby shower, meh. :S

@BumbleBee what problem do you have with your hip? (if I may ask?) Cause I had a tear in my labrum (in my right hip) late last year and had it repaired in Feb of this year. Now with the added pregnancy weight I can feel some pressure on my right hip again. Whats more difficult is I don't really want to do my "exercises" to strengthen my hip muscles cause it involves lunges, squats & weights etc - and I guess I also don't really want to take that chance... :(

@JLK - with regards to maternity leave, I think its part of basic human rights (or something) to force ladies to go on maternity leave 4 weeks prior to the EDD. My company wanted me to go on leave 21 Jan - but I mean what am I supposed to do at home for the next 4-6weeks before baby is born, besides eat - and no one wants that...lol. So they made me a deal that if I supply a doctors note then I can go on leave 2weeks before my EDD. Anything less than that they didn't want to accept.

@BumbleBee - Totally having that same wardrobe crisis :( I only have a handful of items that actually fit...:(
