@nix - sending lots of positive thoughts your way

@JLK - eina!!! I really feel sorry for your little girl and imagine it must have been a very traumatic experience for all of you. Wishing her a speedy and full recovery - though I know it will take a while.

@BabyT - aawww, that is so special  Really can't wait for hubby to feel our munchkin move around.

Felt so much movement today, it's really hard concentrating on my work :P Best feeling in the world. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I know in a while I'll be moaning about her kicking me to bits, but at the moment it's absolutely magical.

So sorry to hear about your little girl @JLK, i can only imagine how stressful that is! Hopefully she doesn't have any long term issues relating to that, but I'm sure she will be just fine.

Hoping everyone has a very uneventful week based on the past couple of weeks! Let our little beans just grow strong :)

Hi Ladies,

How are you all doing this morning? Loving the bumpies ladies - will post mine tonight.

@Nix, I'm very sorry to hear about all your heartache and want you to know that you are in your thoughts and prayers. When is your next appointment? I pray that you will receive only good news.

@STK, Zaiden is a lovely name xx

@BabyT, so glad that your husband seems to be enjoying your pregnancy as much as you are. I think it really starts to sink in for the daddies when they feel that first kick :)

In other news... I've had one of the worst weekends ever and am still very emotional and these hormones don't help overmuch.
On Saturday morning as she was playing with her cousin, my daughter fell and hit her mouth against a cupboard. We had to rush her to hospital where they did a bunch of x-rays. My husband had to take my car to have the brakes replaced so I was left at the hospital with my daughter. Only after he left the doctor came back and said that they had sent for a specialist. The specialist arranged for an emergency operation as the alveolar ridge was broken and they had to remove her 4 front teeth and set the bone. My husband was only able to get back just as we were about to leave the hospital. My poor baby will have to go through the next three to four years without her front teeth - luckily it's the primary teeth and not the permanent teeth...
The thing that gets to me is that she is going through so much pain and the implications of this accident regarding her speech and the eruption of her permanent teeth.
She is however very brave and has already found a way to eat and is almost back to her usual self. She is quite excited about being a "Haasbekkie". My mum says she looks just like the Gr1's.

Awh.... Fellow mommies 2 b, this is just such a special moment that I have to share it...

Daddy felt baby move for the first time last night, and my heart almost burst seeing the look om his face - the look of pure love!!!

My own dad passed away when I was very small and my mom never remarried, so I actually never experienced a child father relationship before, and in some weird way this is my chance to experience that from a different angle as well - all I can say it the tears almost started to flow

Anyway just wanted to share....

@meijermom, I read your post last night and didn't trust myself to respond, but glad to see everyone here is in agreement. You doc sounds like the type for who a natural delivery is a helluva inconvenience. His response to your question was def not what I would want to hear from my doctor. Perhaps have the discussion with him, but have a chat with friends or even do a search on this forum for docs in your area who have done natural deliveries and maybe see someone else? I did a bit of research before choosing my doc as my previous doc of 10 years shot me down as soon as I mentioned natural birth. If they recommend a caesar for health reasons relating to your specific pregnancy fine, but they should listen to your request and respect your choices.

@BabyT - Love your bump!! thank you for sharing!

@STK - sweet name choice ;)

Wen't for our 20w fetal assessment today and doc was very happy with baby's development.
She confirmed that we are def expecting a girl  Hubby was absolutely smitten, he says it's become even more 'real' for him now and he loved commenting on her long little fingers, feet and face. Doc was entertained and said she's a real showoff as she kept bringing her toes to her nose :P
I might have Placenta Privea, but they will reassess at 28 weeks. Must admit I'm terrified of natural as well as caesar (more so), but if the choice is taken away from me that might not be such a bad thing.

I asked her about my weight gain to date which has been 6.5kg (having gained the first 4kg in the first 4 weeks  ) and she was very happy and said I am still on target for half way. What a relief!

My CherryMelon jeans officially don't fit anymore. The legs are roomy and the belly band can still stretch a lot, but the denim bit over my bladder/hip area is way to tight and hurt me like hell yesterday. Unfortunately not R425 well spent  Will maybe try to sell them.

@MeiyerMom - that is so not kosher in so many ways!! I would totally kick that doc to the curb! What right does he have to ask you for reasons how you want to deliver?? I would say to him, you are the medical professional, you give me 5 reasons why I should not deliver naturally and why I should get a c-secion - valid reason. And then I would still consult a different doc. You still have time to find a different doc, I would honestly investigate that. OMG it makes me so angry when doc's are like that. And the thing is we trust them and trust their opinion and what they say. I am very happy with my doc, she never pushed one way or the other, even when I was in labour for almost a day she still said if the baby is OK then we can keep going, until the baby is not OK then we have to do a c-secion, and only when she HAD to do it b/c his heart rate slowed down to dangerous levels did she say right well this is it unfortunately. And now, she is completely open to a VBAC for me as well. Just said if the baby has not come by 40 weeks then she will have to do a c-secion b/c then he most likely will not be coming naturally.

Good luck with that, I really hope you come right, but if I was you, I would not let myself be bullied into doing one thing or the other.
