Hi Carien,
We have a choice at my work - either 6 months at 33% of your salary or 3 months at 100% pay... now obviously I would like to take the 6 months, but at 33% of my salary the bank might have to come reposses my house and car by the end of the six months.... So I am going to take the 3 months fully paid leave and then take a further month of normal leave so that I can at least spend 4 months with baby before going back to work (its obviously not nearly long enough but I will have to make the best of this time)... I have heard that the UIF takes forever to pay out maternity benefits, but I am not sure how true this is.
In terms of nausea I am fine now, for the last week I have had no reall feelings that I want to vomit, but I must say the extreme tiredness is really getting to me... Hopefully this to shall pass in the not so distant future. Sorry about your morning sickness @CarienM, but hey, at least baby is fine and growing
My stomach have not changed at all since I found out I am pregnant, except for the bloat that I am experiencing... Exactly 10 weeks today and I can not wait to feel that change you are talking about... Guess it takes a little longer for the first time moms to experience this...
We told the grandparents and all our sisters and brothers this weekend, and I must say I was overwhelmed by the love and genuine excitement that has now taken hold of the families - this is just soooooo exciting. And the fact that everyone is so happy with and for us is just the cherry on the cake.
My sisten in law told my husband that she hopes that I will make her part of the pregnancy, as she missed this experience with her own sister, who stayed overseas - now how exactly do I do this? I would love to include her as well - but I need some ideas please...
