uh oh! at least the baby will make you relax a bit!

apparently hubby knows someone who knows someone who does upholstering. I am a bit skeptical!

We also lived in a small apartment when she was born, so I could hear everything even if i was in another room. The only time i used the monitor was when I was in the shower or if we had guests. and when we moved to a bigger place she was older, so i didnt need the mat.

I am amazed that the diaper bags are so expensive! I have seen a few plain black ones at baby city i think. Not sure about the prices though.

I had this bizarre dream about the baby being born early (and at a random person's house), but she was really big!

I suffer from OCD and I tend to pack and re pack everything 100 times.

Perhaps look for someone who can make you a cover for the couch.

I guess it’s then useless to have a monitor if baby will be with you sleeping etc.

That’s a bit so expensive for me for a diaper bag. They are so expensive and it’s nothing I even like and willing to pay for. I want something plain without stripes or dots (OCD AGAIN) but they all have these weird patterns what will drive me insane, and not to mention the ugly colours.

The woman at the interior decorating place also told me the same, "its going to cost the same as a new couch". Except we love everything about the couch except for the covering! Maybe I should just buy some throws and cover it up, even though i hate that idea

After I got back to our place, (4 weeks after my daughter was born) I was so used to making her sleep on the bed, that we just kept doing that, and she hardly was in her cot. She used to spend maybe half an hour a a time in the cot (if i didn't fall asleep).

Diaper bags was also a big issue with me. You want something functional, but not something over the top either, and one that looks great. A friend bought me one which 3 years ago was about R700 . But I hardly used it as Haseena only poo'ed once a week while she was being breastfed. So i would put on a clean nappy just before we left, and would be fine for a few hours. She was breastfed, so no need for bottles. There was always a dummy clipped to her, and a spare in my handbag, a blanket in the car or pram. She had reflux so she was constantly wearing bibs. So that was about all I used to carry around with me! We still use the bag, but its now its her swimming lesson bag, and looks a bit worse for wear to use with a new baby.
I am so in love with genuine leather diaper bags, but at R2500!!
Another idea is to get a nice other type of bag, get a nice changing mat (the ones in the diaper bags arent that great anyway) and use ziplock bags to keep diapers, wipes, etc in check.
Are you a very organised person? I am not, so even with all the compartments in the bag, nothing was ever in place.

Oh no that’s expensive I got a quote single seater to get it recovered and the cost were R900 for labour and R120 per m for material. So I said no I would rather get a new one.

I know hey I was not expecting a big gift like that, but it saves me money and I can buy him something else he needs. Why did you not use the mat?

I struggle to find a decent diaper bag that’s decent and will last and of course not look girly.

i also preferred the trainer until I joined a gym with a small class which basically does a similar routine as what you would do with a personal trainer, so its a little bit cheaper, but you still get pushed alot!!

haha! dont get me started about my couch! its been treated really badly! Needs to be recovered desperately. If it were in someone else's house, I would no sit on it!

We also bought that monitor, but the mat never made it out of the box

I don’t really like going to the gym unless I have a personal trainer who can keep me motivated. I started in the gym last year before I fell pregnant (It was all part of the fertility treatment I wanted to get fit seeing everyone said it will help) with a trainer and he was very hard on me. I used to hate looking at myself in the mirrors and then I would laugh and he would add extra weight on. It helped and I was happy.

I just had my baby shower at work and I am really blessed to be working with everyone. I got a lot of nice things and products (they called my hubby and asked what I needed) and my boss gave me the Angle Care Monitor with the mat.

I come from a family of 5 kids. We are all close but not "call each other everyday" close!

I am like that about the gym classes i was attending. If i dont go for 2 days i feel like I am loosing control! But the "drug" has worn off, and now i just eat instead! lol

i get more aches and pains from the couch!
Im sure he will oblige though with moving it.

Hehe!!! a lot of it is instinct and a lot of it is "i have no idea what I am doing!!" so try a feed, diaper change and if that dsnt work, then just hold and comfort them.
