Hi ladies
I kind of forgot about this thread
@Babydreaming - how's the heartburn now?
@mommywannab - great news on the DS scan. I also stressed about it, my doctor said the blood test results were invalid without the scan. I had bloods taken at 8 weeks and the 4.5 week wait between then and the scam had me going crazy. I recall coming home one day from work and my mother giving my husband strict instructions to make sure I went to bed and to get me some soup and ice cream.
Regarding exercise, as already said, if you were active before pregnancy you can usually continue your routine for the 1st trimester as long as it's with your doctor's consent and you're not doing anything risky like contact sport. If you weren't active, it's usually recommended to start off with light walking/swimming. It's not so much about regulating your heart rate so much as making sure you don't become winded because different people have different heart rate responses (mine sits at 90 bpm resting and doesn't take much to go to 140 bpm), the rule of thumb is to avoid activity that leaves you unable to maintain a conversation with someone. If you get breathless and can't talk then you're overdoing it. I continued exercising until about 8 months, fell off the gym wagon at 7 months and stopped my oriental dancing at about 7.5 months. I've been super lazy lately, try to get a walk in every so often, but haven't actually worked out for weeks
I do recommend antenatal classes - there's so much stuff you don't think about. Even things you only realize later (like me realizing on Saturday that I didn't even know what to use baby oil for
I had been pronatural birth, but my lg is breech so my c-section is booked for next Tuesday. I was open minded about birth options so it hasn't affected me too much. I'm just getting nervous about anaesthetic cause I've never had surgery before

My doctor is keen on microbirthing though so that's at least been made a part of my birth plan.
