Mommys to be in SEPTEMBER 2010

Morning ladies!

We bought our pram yesterday! Am so excited.

Of course it wasn't entirely a pain-free purchase - I managed to pull a typical pregnant "frothy", but in the end we got a really nice pram.

Ok, so here's the story:
A few weeks ago hubby and i were sort of looking at prams, not really planning to buy just yet, just looking. Anyway, we finally found one that we actually both liked - previously we'd been unable to agree on one. So the one we both liked - the Chelino Tech Rider 3 travel system. So anyway, last weekend i was a bit down in the dumps so hubby decided let's go buy the pram as a treat. So off we went, discovered it was on special (R200 off) and tried to buy it. But DH didn't like the colour they had and so we asked for a different colour (navy and red). They said they didn't have in stock but they found a branch that did have and said they'd order it.

So anyway, off we went empty handed and so yesterday (Friday) i phoned the shop to ask if it had arrived. Well the lady told me yes they'd gotten new stock of that model yesterday, what colour did i want? So i told her we'd specifically ordered this navy and red one. So she checked and said oh yes they had one left in stock, she'd put my name on it. So anyway, i realised that clearly the other guy never actually ordered the one for us. But then she tells us that the special ended the previous weekend, so now we have to pay full price for it! So i said but that's not fair cos we ordered it at the other price. So she said there's nothing she can do, this is new stock at the full price. Anyway, long story short DH phoned and kicked up a big fuss and managed to get them to knock off R100 off the price.

So after work off we go to get the pram, and now there's another lady in the shop and she says, sorry, they don't have that colour she doesn't think they make it in that colour! So i was like WTF?!?! i specifically ordered it and they said there was one. Anyway, i made her completely unpack the 3 other colours they had from their boxes so i could see them (not an easy task i can assure you!). Then, just as she was looking for a fourth colour she found the one with my name on it - in navy and red!!! So she unpacked that one for me. Suddenly, i wasn't so sure - it looked a bit duller than i remembered

But i didn't want to just settle, i wanted to be happy with my purchase. So we asked for one other colour to be unpacked and then i saw a different pram - DH was also intrigued. So we then asked her to demonstrate this totally different pram for us (Chelino C3) and in the end we decided we prefer that one! AND it fits into the boot of my Hyundai Atos!

So after all that we landed up buying the Chelino C3! It was slightly more expensive (R200 more) but i'm really happy with it and certain that in the end we made the right choice

Hi ladies... Robyn-dats a cute lil persn ova der. Nats gud 2 hear Micah is al wel n he's such a big boy. My FA scan is on monday n im so lukin 4ward 2 seeing how much my lil 1 hs grown since last visit. Welcome 2 moomie Zazam... Take care ladies.

Huggles - quick question - Which form did you submit to Discovery for the PMB benefits ?
The PMB CDL appeal form or the The PMB outpatient form? I need to get my gynae to sign it when I go next week.

That's awesome Nats that it was such a great appointment and scan.

I must admit i also found our last appointment the best so far (18 weeks). We were the last appointment of the day and so the gynae was really taking his time and enjoying hte scanning and looking at absolutely everything. And there was so much more detail than the previous scan (13 wks)! Was incredible.

I've booked my 22wk FA scan for Saturday 15 May with Peek-a-Babe - have invited my mom and MIL to come with to see their soon-to-be grandchild. Can't wait to see him again.
