Mommys to be in SEPTEMBER 2010

Hi Ladies
WOW, less than 3 months left, hey? And everyone seems to be doing well.

Lerato, no idea about baby shower. But can be anytime between 26 and 38 weeks.

Kerry, we're having our 4D scans on the same day, I can't wait for it. I also want to get everything for the hospital bags sorted out, but still need to get quite a number of things.

AFM, having a cold and it sucks big time. What did you guys use to help? What I find worse is that all the sneezing and coughing is really hurting, lower abdomen. And to make things worse our geyser decided to burst last night, so the entire day the plumbers were here to sort it out. It was such a huge mess, had to clean everything.

sher - am doing my widow shopping at woolies to see on PJ's what size but am we re getting everything next 24th July, i'll 34wks

Sorry guys too much to remember in one go huh? I forgot to mention... she's already turned!!! isn't that good to know!

baby Kaelyn is doing perfectly.. she was large at the last scan so she took the oppourtunty to slow a little... this time she was average size.... so she's 1.4kg and looking good.

I finished by bed booking and booked the complimentry scan for the 5th of July



Now to get back into working huh?

Oh and i bought the nursing bra's and some dark red satin pj's from truworths... and the standard breast pads, disposable brooks, baby stuff etc to start putting the basics in my hospital bag... Hubby tends to go blank and panick in this kind of situation so i know i need to have my goodies ready should somthing happen!

you are so lucky to have 9 months maternity leave and to have your mom in law look after the little one, yes you save alot more but also have someone reliable and trustworthy

do any of you ladies started buying your pj's and nursing bras yet ? the ones who is at 24/25 weeks ...there still a while to go and thought its too early as till I get to 9 months, I am gonna grow quite a bit and not sure what size bras or pj's I will wear. Still fitting in all my clothes, I have not bought anything bigger or any maternity clothes yet. sure when i hit 7 months, I should get bigger

Morning ladies

TGIF! (and I'm completely boss-free today, so nice relaxing early day for me!)

I'm quite lucky in that I don't get up at night to go to the bathroom - when I wake up in the mornings, my body says I need to go then, but never during the night (and thankfully my hips haven't been too sore this week, so have been sleeping really well)

I've been told that I don't look pregnant from the front or back - just the side (when you see my bump) BUT apparently I do 'Waddle' like I'm carrying a bowling ball with me when I walk (!!!!!! !!!!!!!)

We had our 2nd last ante-natal class last night - learnt about breastfeeding, kangaroo care, changing nappies, post-partem depression etc
Was quite funny when the midwife said she had dolls for each of us to practice breastfeeding and DH whispered to me "You are not doing that! You can just watch" So I calmly stated that they don't expect everyone to whip out their boobs, it's just to get the positioning right - let's just say he went quite red!

I got some great news last night!
Since I'm only taking 9months mat leave and going back to work, we started looking for creches, daymothers etc around our area - but I was always abit anxious as you never really know what is happening there, who is looking after your baby etc
So DH spoke to his mom yesterday and she said she would love to look after Dakota until she's about 2 or 3, then she can go to a playschool. So I'm really excited about that - besides being a heck of a lot cheaper, at least we'll know exactly who she's with and what she's doing etc (she raised 3 kids on her own and looked after her other 2 grandkids so she knows what she's doing!)
What can be better than having Ouma look after your first born?! RELIEF!!
