I cant believe its sunday already.
Hope you all had a good weekend, I sure did.

I also went to the expo and had loads of fun.
I was dead tired when I got back home coz they had so many stalls. I didnt even to buy anything at babycity coz it was just too packed. I think next time I will go during the week or on the Sunday to avoid crowds.

Well, I'm not sure with the whole UIF thing - my cousin's friend who just had a baby also said she could only go after baby was born, but according to the website you must go at least 8 weeks before the birth so who really knows these days?!

Went for my 22 week FA scan today. Got some really awesome pics. Took the "grannies" with for a sneak peak at their soon-to-be grandson. They were so excited and enjoyed it so much was really special. Was confirmed without a doubt that it is DEFINITELY a boy - he was displaying his jewels quite proudly!

Baby Expo was much better than expected. Will do a "update" in a seperate post so all the other members can see as well. But now I am pooped. Can't believe we stayed there for so long.

Nope, you only submit on the first day of your ML. You ca go to the department before for them to check if you have all the forms needed.

You see this people dont update their websites. That info was for when this UIF thingie started but the rules have changed since then.

I know two peole who just went on ML last month.

My sister even got her baby before she could even submit her forms, cause she tried submiting earlier but was told to come back on the 1st day of ML.

Yes Robyn, you're right about that. So far we seem to be buying the big stuff at Baby Boom cos they are helpful and show you how the things work, but i will doing my baby registry at Baby City cos they have more small stuff and i like their "boxes" that you get to put together for the registry.

Just thought i'd share ladies - someone (i think Ntoko) posted another thread about maternity leave and UIF. I've just been checking the labour department website as a result (www.labour.gov.za) and it seems if you want to claim UIF you must submit your claim 8 weeks before your due date! So for those of us due in Sept we need to get things in order by the end of June, beginning July!

Just something to think about.

Definitely seems like it but at least we both have 1 store near us that is great :o)
