Hi Ladies,

Oh, Vix, so sorry to hear C is still giving you the cold shoulder HUGS. At this stage Iris wants nothing from her dad, she wants me to do everything for her and I must say, its pretty tiring.

I've been booked off until Wednesday I started feeling sick last weekend so I tried to self medicate using Panado Medisip. By Tues I started feeling better & on Wed & Thurs I didn't take anyting, BIGGG mistake, by Friday I felt awful, started the Panado again but it didn't seem to make me feel better like before. Saturday morning I got up to get ready for class but just felt tooo awful so climbed back in bed. DH forced me to the doctor later that morning. Apparently I have an awful Sinus & Flu combination but she said that 9 weeks is very critical for brain development etc so she doesn't wanna give me any antibiotics at this stage if it can be helped. Thus I was given a script for panado's & ACC200 and ordered on strict bed rest until Wednesday, she said that if I don't feel better by then, I must come back and we must discuss the options for antibiotics. Spent my whole weekend in bed with a blocked nose, awful headache & sore throat... SORRY, but feeling very sorry for myself...

Ally, I enjoyed your Pasella clip, but also thought they gave awfully little time to the finished dish... Good luck with the charity event!!

Hi ladies

Hope you are all doing well. It's such a day for the bed! We went for pancakes at my MIL's and now we are just home relaxing and Z is pretending she's a baby (yet again). The more she talks about boetie-sussie, the more she plays she's a baby, crawling about, talking baby language, etc, etc.

Vix, that is so bad about C, I think its a great idea to chat to someone professional about it because like you said it has been going on for months. It must be hectic! Really hope you can get on track with him again xxxxxxx

Talking about rejection, poor DH is heartbroken these days because Z just wants nothing to do with him, she's really mean with him.

Ally, also think the R350 is better and I love the heart logo. What a #$#%#% liberty of Top Billing though, how can someone invite you and you have to pay for a goodie bag? It never works like that.

Sounds as if the tantrums are the order of the day! Ja, I seriously need more patience, DH is much better than me, I get angry and shout and basically do everything that we advise in our features NOT TO DO. The other day I even told her in the car that I'm going to drop her off besides the road, off course that brought on another round of hysterics. Bad Zee. ... bad ...

Simone, had to laugh at Addy and the presents. They are just too clever! Z wants a present everyday or a sweetie! I just ignore her.

Mandy, thanx! I think that's my biggest challenge right now, figuring out which way to go. I'm just scared people aren't willing to spend that much on the auction and then we don't make enough money for the charities. And especially if I get awesome prizes like trips etc. I don't want them to go for like R1000 or something, you know? I'm just glad I'm seeing my uncle and cousin today. I have so many ideas but just don't know what to do with them and they both have the best ideas. My uncle does marketing etc. for Telkom's "do" brand so he has a lot of great contacts as well.

My main concern right now is that I feel I need to get one or two big sponsors on board so I can start 'name-dropping'. But I want my proposal to be perfect before I do that.

Mandy, no worries re: Pasella. Men have a tendency to do things like that.

Vix - you know realisation is half the battle.. There is a specialist here on moomie in the doctors section that helped another lady with a suggestion of an educational psychologist because her child was disruptive all the time and who gave her some advice.. try that. its not a bad idea that you get some counselling, advice as well.

Ally - thats a stunning logo. You are going to have such an awesome event. I would rather pay the R350 and go in for an auction.. although a small goodie bag is also always a bonus! that way the charities can also put info on how to sign up as a regular donor to them.

I have actually been so mad with hubby because of pasella. I got home and programmed it to record and while i was in the bath, which was only 20 minutes , he stopped the record, for your exact 20 minutes!! grrr and ive not had a chance to download your clip yet but cant wait to do it when cameron sleeps today


One thing i am trying to do with cameron is use positive discipline. They recommend to make him feel like a good boy all the time instead of a naughty boy. To do this, you praise the good and distract the bad, Dont use a bad boy or naughty boy phrase to go along with the discipline, rather guide the naughty energy from him to another place. When he does something that is good, say I like it when you say thank you, or i like it when you eat all your supper you help tidy your toys and when he tantrums, just calmly say, mom is leaving the room until you stop that. When you are finished you can come to mom. ( although i find the only thing that stops tantrums personally is to get their interest in something else!! _ i cant handle that crying and constant moaning!!

its absolutely pouring with rain today, and we are off to swimming as its indoors in a heated pool. anyhoo trying to get rid of a yukkie cold, so not doing too much this week end

but i am organising an easter egg hunt in my complex on the easter monday at our clubhouse - i have R600 frm our body corporate and will be buying hot cross buns for parents and do a big kid and little kid hunt with loads of easter eggs and choccie prizes. the complex residents will also donate eggs. and we will do a cookie decoration activity for the kids on the day... will be fun

Thanx for the feedback girls. I know it's called a Cook-Off stateside so I'll be keeping that and I really like the name, so maybe I'll just say Charity Cook-off but I'm seeing my Marketing Director uncle and cousin on Sunday so will ask their advice. After all, it is a cook off for charity.

Vix, The charities are CANSA, WAR (women against rape) , kindersorg (child welfare) and The Anti-Animal Cruelty League. I've already put the proposal together for the sponsors and I've gotten a ton of e-mail addresses to send it to. I just need to start thinking of venues now because I'll need that sponsored to.

Would you gals rather pay R300 per ticket and participate in an auction for awesome prizes (all proceeds going to charity) or pay R750 per ticket and there's a whole bunch of lucky draws that will be happening and you get an awesome goodie bag? Snacks and a glass of bubbly hopefully also included.

Ally I agree with the ladies on the cook off for charity. What if u turned it around: charity cook off-eat your heart out!
