Simone, lol at Addy's singing! Abi and Aidan do the same, I said to C the other day Abigail makes a song about EVERYTHING.

Lisha, the twins are doing well. They're VERY naughty at times but so sweet also. I'm amazed at their vocab lately. They're definitely my kids because when they eat they close their eyes, sigh and say 'aahhh, delicious!' lol Abi has also started using words like Aswell...so she'll say "Mommy, Give an apple to Aidan aswell!" I almost fell over the other day, I was like, 'where the hell did you learn to speak like that?' lol

I'm so undecided about dinner for tonight. It's freezing in Pretoria so I'm thinking Tamatie Bredie but I also bought smoked salmon today coz I want to try to make a Smoked Salmon Carbonara...I think the Lamb might win this round though!!

Shame Oliver must feel very upset that you're not around. What are the plans when your mum goes back home? Hope she's managed to extend her visa.

Julz hope Dylan gets better quickly. Shame 40 degrees and not coming down with Voltaren supp is scary. Hope he's letting you sleep well at night at least.

Nicole don't be afraid of the accupuncture. I've had it on several occassions for my back and love the relief. Perhaps find a chiro/physio that does it then they will massage out all the tension in your back and then still do the accupuncture. You only feel the prick when the needle goes in but not after that.

Julz my ankle is almost 100% now. I stepped a bit funny earlier so I had a pang of pain but otherwise that's better. My back is killing me still but that's because Shrey wanted to be carried a lot this weekend and at certain times no one else would do. Felt like he just wanted me to be stressed or punished but he just wasn't himself.

Any of you guys have portable dvd players? We're getting one for Shrey but would prefer to save all his stuff in DIVX format on flash disk and play from that but we're not certain if that would play. We're going to need all the entertainment we can get as our travelling is going to span nearly 24 hours at one go with the stopovers etc

Sure u cant wait to get here to support your sister and niece and nephew:-) Oh I'm with Lisha, thanks for the ideas...I actually tried something on Sunday...Addison was causing mass destruction of property with a permanent marker. Usually I'd grab, tug of war would follow, screams, tears and a spank! Instead I started tickling her, dad managed to grab the marker as she was distracted....and she actually forgot about it completely! No tantrum or tears (though seriously, not much more she could mark in the house with that black kokie!)

Vix...a breakthrough?? lets hope things are changing for the better! U must be so relieved!! So glad for u my friend! re: nappies, Its horrible seeing that bum looking like that...Addy was bleeding, her bum was burnt raw...I just aired, kept at it with maizena and probiotics. I'm sure I used a cream as well but cant remember now:-(

Julz we're the same...no attention to bad words...and its forgotten in an instant never to be repeated...and she wont even flinch if she hears it again. On Friday Addison tramped on a bowl, the bowl in turn flipped over and ended up on my foot (with her tramping on it)...was so painful! I ran down passage screaming F*** F*** and I heard her yelling: Muck muck! lol. Ignored. And she never said it again..

Vix I must commend you on staying calm and dealing with it like you did and C understanding and grasping what he did was wrong. Sadly you cant control what they learn outside the house, especially at school.

Helen....shame man...I feel so for you and poor Nina! Funny enough Addison was always getting ear infections (as I was letting her drink bottle on her own in cot) and we went to ENT as well and he said next ear infection to bring her back...she got more, I didnt take her back though, just went to paed. not once did they suggest grommets or alternatives....and today she's hunky dory. Is Nina perhaps drinking milk lying down?

Oh Julz...hope Dylan gets better asap! 40 degree fever...yikes!

Zee you always make me laugh! The things these kids make us want to do. Sometimes I honestly feel like punching Addison in the face! lol.

AFU...wedding on Saturday...was very nice...though was supposed to be outside wedding and it rained, but back up worked fine. Yesterday quiet day as I felt like I had a cold and hubby flu...he is booked off now. Wish I was at home with them:-(

Addison is so skelm...after porridge this morning she asks for chips...so I say there's no chips. She tells me matter of factly she wants 'blue chips'...and points to the cupboard...and lo and behold there's a blue packet of simba chicken twirls.lol. Needless to say Cynthia gave her big glass of water and chips after her porridge as our compromise for having chips so early.

Was telling Lisha this morning...Addison will now sing a song's tune, but change the words to her own silly song. She even sang to me yesterday that: 'I want cheeee-ken nuuuuu-ggets'. Maybe she'll be writing songs as a future profession.lol

Helen, shame man im so sorry to hear that Nina has another ear infection, i know how you feel, its a sucky feeling being at work whilst you know your baby is sick. xxx

Julz sorry to hear D is sick as well, hope he starts feeling better asap.

Lisha/Julz i went to the GP the beginning of March and he said it was because my muscles from my back, into my neck and face were in spasms, which in the end results in very bad migranes, apparently the way to "fix" it is accupunture, i really need to make an effort to go, just hate imagining someone sticking pins in me.......ouch!

Okay sorry about all the short replies. Quite busy and my monkey is sick at home. We struggled all weekend with fevers. He had a fever of 40 which voltaren sup didn't help so we took him to the doc and he has a severe throat inf. Not too serious. He was happy when he had no fever, but really miserable when the fever hit and very cuddly which was quite nice. Still had a hectic weekend.

He is asleep now so need to do as much work as humanly possibly in a couple hours.

Wish I could say it was a good morning but sadly I was right, Nina's ear infection is back. Now she's got a 10day, 3times a day course of antibiotics which will hopefully do the trick this time. And we've booked an appointment to see an ENT next week, its not normal for a baby to have so many ear infections, she's had four and she's only 4 and a half months More expense, how depressing. And its horrible to see her in pain, she's tilting her head to one side and is really struggling to sleep poor little mite. My heart just about broke to leave her this morning.

Vix - I'm so glad C is coming round and keeping FX it lasts, I can't imagine how heartbreaking it could be It seems these kids all have their moments, Oliver is not interested in Theo at all at the moment, he literally pushes him out of the bathroom and doesn't want Theo inviolved in anything. I'm almost certain its something to do with me coming back to work, like he thinks its daddy's fault or something. As for getting together, a braai sounds like a plan, there's no stress about my mum, I think she'd enjoy having some time to herself not to mention peace and quiet lol! We have no plans at all for this weekend so if you're keen for a get together let me know what day would suit you

Christi - Sorry you're not well, hope the bedrest helps, its sucks not being able to dose yourself up!

Ally - Yay that you got feedback from another publisher but it must suck having to wait around...I'm sure the wait will be worth it though, your recipes etc are fab, I have no doubt you will get published

Vix, a surefire way of getting rid of burnt bum issues is the following. You need something that contains Friars Balsam in the bumcream (the pharamcies often put together their own thing that has an antibacterial agent in it too) Try one of these creams but to start off with continue with the medaspor but mix the following 3 things togher and apply them (Medaspor, ketazole & vasaline or lanolin or aqueous cream or any other good barrier cream) The mixture of the antifungal (Medaspor) and the cortisone (Ketazole) will nip it in the BUT so to speak

You could also try a trick that some would say is an oldwives tale but it really does work. Put some Rooibos teabags in hot water and then them draw a little. Let the teabags and the tea water cool down. Then instead of using wet wipes use cotton wool to clean the nappy area using the Rooibos water and before you close the nappy up put a tea bad onto the area where it is red and leave it. Really does work and worth a try if you are at your wits end.
