thx for mentioning it - animal welfare & care is very high up on my list of charities that I'll gladly support - along with old-age homes.

Thanks Vix & Julz - I'll sent her a msg now. The paed did say they can use MOM and Buscopan (for colic) but I know the latter also could cause constipation so told her that too.
Baby is only on formula Julz - can't remember which one she said but she did give Nan first and changed.

o.k Just to add to Julz' comment (Laxette was the name i was thinking of) C was constipated when breastfed and my pead at 6w said that it comes from just having a slow system because he could find nothing else wrong with him and that laxette shouldn't be used on a permanent basis but on the odd occasions that the baby appears to be in pain or is really badly struggling to push then it will help avoid anal fissures and bleeding which may cause the baby to 'avoid' pooing. He did say though that some babies to appear to 'struggle' and pull horrible faces and moan and groan when pooing but that doesn't mean it's constipation.

Okay..going blank because I am STARVING! Smoothie for some reason did not fill me this morning.

I walked into Spar this morning and I didnt cringe when I saw my reflection.lol. I was smiling because I realised I have a waist developing;-) Finally lost 8kgs now. Been a bit of a slow 2 weeks with all the festivities, but no gain and going ahead at full steam.

Nicole- Toys R us usually has a few things for under R50 but Nelly was saying that Reggies is actually cheaper than most toy shops so maybe Check out Reggies and just see what they have. You'll be surprised actually what R50 can get if you are on a budget.

O.k i was reading through the paper the other day and i know it's not for kiddies but orphaned animals are a very soft subject in our house and i saw the SPCA is looking for donations to be able to built their new bigger kennels so they ask R25 to sponsor a brick so i think we're going to sponsor 5 bricks, one for each child and one each from us because they put your name on it too and we thought it might be nice one day when we choose our next dog to show the kids the bricks they 'bought'. It's not a whole lot of money but we don't have a whole lot of surplus these days.

Lisha is the baby on formula? if Breastfeeding then the lo should be seen by a doc because constipation in b/f babies is not commom and should be investigated. MOM isn't a good idea I don't think. We give dylan Laxette, however I wouldn't suggest giving a baby anything that young unless the paed gives it to the baby. sorry I know I am a pain with this but I believe you treat the cause not the symptom.
