NIcole, glad I'm not the only one! :) I think the party is going to look more extravagant than it is. I'm just going to be very clever with the decorations and stuff. But it's still just a kids party so I'm not going to do all the stuff my heart really desires lol. The only entertainment will be a jumping castle and I'm just throwing blankets under the trees so it's going to be like a picnic type of thing.

Vix I also posted a comment on that post! My thoughts are at 4 months my concerns were trying to teach K to sit, doing tummy time, grasping things etc, the LAST thing on my mind was being potty trained!! But anyway.....

ALly dont feel bad about throwing such parties. I feel the same way at times like my brother is not throwing a party for his son this month (turns 2) so when he asked me what I am doing for K, I felt a bit awakard because im doing at the Zoo and there will be the smartie train ride and boat ride that they kids will go on etc. But I am doing it because I enjoy it and I love having photographes of such memories. Like your mom, my mom through us huge parties to each year, every year was something new and exciting :) I think if you have certain "traditions" with your parents, when you become a parent you sometimes tend to follow through with tradations. :)

Vix glad you are putting yourself first this time around, it is soooo important to feel relaxed and comfy in your own after the birth of the babies. Plus you and Elwyn as new parents again to 2 babies would want you own family time with the babies and C. and there is nothing wrong with that. I told my family besides my parents and DF parents that they could come visit me after a week.

LMAO Vix. I will definitely NOT be licking my child's bumhole lol lol lol. And Animals also sleep under trees, are these ladies doing this with their children?
I agree going as natural as possible is best when raising children but for goodness sake, don't be ridiculous. We aren't animals!!

I already told C that I doubt you'll come to the twins' party but you know you have an invite on the way! :) Im also inviting Helen but not sure if she'll come either.

Ally- you mustn't feel bad about throwing your babies parties each and every year, it's fun! o.k if you were on a tiny budget and it was a stressful thing for you to organize then i would say don't bother but you quite obviously enjoy planning the parties so go for it!

I was really tempted to throw C a birthday party until i found out about the twins and there is just no way i can 1, afford to hold it at a venue or 2, have it at home and do all the clearing up after especially at 28w pregnant.

we will just have tea and cake at home.

To be honest my attendance at all your babies parties will be solely based on how I'm feeling at the time because this bump is going to be huge in summer LOL

We have a wedding to attend on 2nd Oct which i said was fine but only for the ceremony and as long as i feel comfortable because some weddings are like constant standing all day and that I can't do even now.

Lisha- there was a lady who did the elimination communication thing with her 1st child but then her second she didn't, can't remember if she gave a reason but obviously convenience wins. and she said both her children were fully potty trained at the same age even trying different methods of raising them.

one woman's argument for BLW (baby lead weaning when they don't eat pureed baby foods, they stay on the breast until they are ready to eat food in it's solid form) was an article that went on about in nature animals suckle from their mothers until such times as they can move over to solid formed food. o.k but they also lick the bum hole of the young to stimulate defecation ........ don't see these ladies enjoying that idea LOL

Hi ladies

Hope everyone is well.

Julz hope the meds do help clear the foggy feeling. Sorry your boomerang is still functioning so well lol but Simone makes a good point re trying to get him to sleep in his bed but in your room for a while.

Shrey is still coming back to our bed in the early hours of the morning but he's still on the boob so can't do much about that till he stops. I bought the oil I want to use and it smells horrid ... poor boy hopefully he can't drink through that!!!

Vix I must agree with you on that potty training issue ... there is no way a pee in the toilet while you're holding the kid is considered potty training ... and as for the comments about affording diapers or a helper to wash cloth nappies that just doesn't justify putting a child through that so early on. Ag I am so annoyed with those people now and I didn't read the post lol.
Re watching Tarzan too often, i know your frustration, it went from Cars, to the Bee Movie and now Toy Story ... not to mention Barney, Teletubbies and a host of other kids programs recorded on our pvr

Nicole glad you had a good night and wow K ate so well.

Nelria hope you guys feel better already ... too long now!

Mandy good luck with injections. Shrey didn't have a reaction.

Okay sorry that's all my busy brain can remember. Wishing everyone a great day and I'll hopefully chat later but not counting on it ... dh has action cricket tonight so guess who will be on baby duty all by herself!!!

Hi dolls.

Vix, I agree on the potty training thing. How on earth can you expect a 4 month old to be potty training? They can hardly hold their own heads up! I think it's called Elimination Communication? I mean I just think that's way too earth mother/tree hugger for my liking. I'm all for living greener, and it does shock me that nappies aren't biodegradable, and every nappy that's ever been used is still in a landfill somewhere, but I'm not going to use cloth nappies just because of that.

Julz, sorry for the bad nights. Aidan is also giving us a hard time.

Vix, I can't believe it's already going into the '2nds' with birthdays. It's sooo amazing how quickly time goes by. I'm actually getting worried about the twins' party. I've only bought serviettes and goodie bags lol. Need to get my ass into gear. The other day I felt so stupid for organising a big party because so many people don't and my aunt said I mustn't feel bad for one second. If I want to give my kids a big party that's my prerogative. I think I do it because my mom always went through SOO Much trouble for our bdays and that's some of my best memories so I want my kids to also have that you know? I'll never forget, when I was 5/6 she had a 'Little lady tea party' for me. Everyone had to wear their mother's hats and shoes and some jewellery. If they didn't have my mom had a whole basket by the door they could get dressed from. She had loads of little tables with little chairs that she decorated with floral serviettes/little vases of flowers and porcelain cups etc. Had a hat and teapot cake made and had little high tea snacks for us. It was the most fun! I still have the photo's. :)

Anyway, need to go get dressed, herbalife chick is going to be here soon...grrr!
