Hi girls, my adsl is back, sorry been so mia - I have some work now too so been busy with that whenever I get a free moment to go online.
Kerry, John was born on the 30th Aug - I think he is the baby of the group, I was the last one left to give birth in the August group
For weeks I thought he was was teething but no sign of any teeth yet. He has a nasty rash on his chin and neck and top of his chest. I thought it was from dribbling but I'm wondering if its maybe eczema or something else now. I've been using sudocrem and now E45, I think its a little better since the E45. We're going to the nurse on Monday for the last of his 6in1 shots (we pushed it out so we could claim from med aid) so I will ask her what she thinks. I need to book his 6 month check up for end Feb/ beginning March. I can't believe its that time already. This time last year I was only 11 weeks pregnant!
Eileen and Kerry, John has been very niggly the last 2 days, crying and needing me alot and generally not feeling very happy. But no temperature. I think he has reflux, he has always spat up alot after feeds, although never seemed unhappy about it and always gaining weight. But I thought that maybe now we are trying different foods, something is a little too acidic for him and that's making the reflux sore. Of course I am just guessing all of this. I will also ask the nurse on monday. It might be related to his rash, or maybe his toofies are going to make an appearance soon. I'm dying to make pancakes! Hey Charnenay, how did that pancake theory come about again?
Aah Eileen enjoy your holiday! Sounds divine

We are going to Marina Beach over Easter, it will be John's first beach holiday
Blessed and Col, can't believe you lost/ almost lost all your preggie weight already, that's awesome! I'm really struggling, then again I did put on 22kg but I have 8 to go and its such a pain, struggling to get my mind right again. I'm going to see Patrick Holford talk next week, he is out here from the UK. He is my food guru
Cols, aaah sweet, red and white. So what did you dress Evan in? Shame, hope he shakes this thing now. I so agree with you about the nose frida. John had a cold when he was just 7 weeks (so long ago now) and those bulb aspirators didn't work at all!
Hey Girly, thanks too for the tip about the reutiri drops, I must also get some more then. How's this, I've been putting the drops on J's dummy every day and then he sucks it like mad, I never thought to put it in his cereal! Clever! I could also put it in his milk but he often doesn't finish a bottle so maybe will stick to his cereal, which he loves and always finishes.
I gave J paw paw for lunch on Mon and Tues and his poo still smells like paw paw! Maybe its too strong for him. I'm giving it to him again today but then won't for a while.
I've heard good things about the Anabel Carmel book, was going to photocopy some pages from my friend but maybe I should buy myself a copy. I'm enjoying making his food. I've started mashing some things instead of pureeing so he can get used to more texture. (Only things like banana and butternut that are quite soft anyway). I also heard not to give them yogurt until after 7 months so I was going to ask my paed when we see him at the 6month check up. He LOVES the purity teething biscuits, haven't tried anything else yet. I'll look for those Hot Baba Mama rusks from Checkers next time I'm there, thanks Charneney! And congrats on your beautiful girl winning the competition and finalist in another comp
Girly, good luck with the job hunting. Always when I don't know how we're going to manage, God sends work my way, its a lesson in just handing it over to Him and not worrying but so much harder to do in reality!
Speaking of which, I better get back to my work while my baba is still sleeping. Hope you girls all have a super weekend! Give your hubbies an extra hug and kiss for Valentines and I hope they spoil you too
