Girly, I think they're going through a phase. Evan is so mavas at the moment. I really hope you dont have any issues with them regarding your pregnancy. They cant actually discriminate but some people do :( FX all goes perfectly on Monday. I am so glad your pregnancy is going so well! At least that is 1 possitive :)

Evan is about 12 KG but very tall. Some of his clothes are 2-3 others 18-24 months. All of them are a bit lose on the waist but some are too short. He wears size 6 shoes already... His teething's messing with his tummy - literally 4 poos a day! He's on cortizone nose spray for a month because his ears are badly blocked and his grommets are out now. His ent isnt keen to do grommets straight away. He has a niggly cough and constantly running nose from the spray which freaks me out but it's better than a ruptured ear drum...

He wakes up and comes to fetch me and expects me to come read to him and play with him! This am he came to our bed. We tried getting to sleep with us as he was up till 8:30 last night. NO LUCK. We left him to play but then I couldnt sleep because I kept worrying something would happen to him. So I got up.

Robyn, good luck with your renovations! We're doing outside at the moment and I'm having new carpets put in on Tuesday. Still get past the dust from laying our parquet flooring :( I hate renovations. I hope it all goes well!! Good luck with yor scan! It goes so fast!! Are you guys feeling the babas move yet?

Kerry, I was thinking about your creche issues. What about measuring out the formula and bottles and only sending 1 bottle and formula each day? I know it's admin but with my nephew - 2 yrs 2 months he still drinks loads of milk. He will easily go through 3 nido bottles in a row unless you say no. I think they like the taste. Evan has about 100 - 150 ml in the morning & 180 ml @ nap time and bed time. I give him normal cows milk. I know they say we should be stopping the night bottle but I am still fine with him drinking milk.

Is anyone else still using dummies at nap time & bed time? And how's disciplining working? Time outs are still a struggle any tips?

Ladies reading that your kids are struggling at night really makes it feel 'easier' that I'm not the only one going this alone with no one who can relate! So thanks for sharing :)

Cols cute but uh oh!!! Hopefully the 6am becomes 7am on the weekends!
Does he also say 'come' and expect you to get up straight away??? What size clothes is he in now and what is he weighing?

Robyn I never commented on your pics I'm sorry! I'm so glad you got to enjoy your holiday and hope you got some rest inbetween. Your family is gorgeous, very cute girly!
Good luck with your renovations! What are you going to do? Just bare in mind that things ALWAYS get delayed with contractors, 2 weeks delay and you're lucky. 2 months delay is more realistic especially when weather is a factor. Keep us posted on the progress!!! I cannot believe we're half way through May already!!!

Kerry I also get asked by DH if there isnt anything I can give her to sleep! I do get rather irate cos she's just human and we all have bad nights where we cant fall asleep.
I gave K 5 drops of rescue along with ponado for her fever (still low grade thankfully) and prospan for her cough. I feel bad medicating with actual paracetemol or ibuprofen but I feel sometimes she needs a little more help than we can give her, she is obviously in some sort of discomfort. From all her hospital stays with morphine drips etc she is pretty immune to pain killers, but I hope that will lessen with time!

FG ditto on the sleeping in our bed saga. When K has had nightmares she refuses to sleep anywhere BUT in my arm. But I literally cannot get comfortable no matter how tired I am and so I will dose the entire time she's in my arm like that. Last night at 2am DH eventually went and slept on the couch cos she was so restless. I tried so many times to get her to sleep on his side of the bed but she would look up at me, say no and roll back in right under me. So from 2am till 5:30am I hardly slept. When she woke (far too early) I put Winnie the Pooh on or her and carried on snoozing but she wouldn't let me, kept on telling me about 'balloon' and 'owl' etc.
Today I slept from 9:30am and only woke at 1pm! So my last day at home was spent sleeping lol! So much for dying my hair and baking cake :D

Took K to GP this afternoon. She developed a nasty cough and a weesy chest overnight. He was worried it was croup initially but after a neb and lots of crying he could see she had no trouble breathing. So given us antibiotics (with her risk of developing endocarditis with bacterial infections she almost always gets antibiotics), cortizone and dualin for the nebulizer (which we have to find in the garage since someone packed it away when we were moving) and nose spray.
Hoping the weekend will go well and that she'll recover nicely so that we're all set for the big day on Monday.

FG to answer your question - I feel I should do it in person. So when my boss gets in on Monday and we sit down to sign the contract then I will tell her about the pregnancy. Its a catch 22. Some people think I should've done so by now, but it honestly happened so fast I only realised I hadnt done so by Tuesday night. While others say I should lie and say I only just found out once I'm doing okay there. Others say I mustn't say anything till I start showing. But I have to tell them and deal with the consequences of it.
So I may sound somewhat negative I realise this, but I am not yet celebrating the job until I'm sure my news isnt going to give them motive to fault me at my new job if that makes sense!

I do hate how negative and insecure I have sounded lately! I am certainly looking forward to some more positivity from my side now :D

I am super grateful I'm having SUCH an easy pregnancy so far! If I could keep my eyes open it'd be just perfect! I got my screening results today and we're low risk for downs which is yet more good news this week!
And Kaylee is such a blessing and a joy through all the niggles and colds, I know its not her fault. She has a stunning, feisty personality which is so contageous. I love her to bits really!!!

FG you must enjoy your holiday with your beautiful family! You are such a blessing in more ways than you know, so I hope you get totally spoilt while you're away! :D

PS sorry for my extremely selfish post!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

hi girls

Evan's the same at the moment. Last night we let him stay up till 7:30 then he woke up with nightmares at 9. Then I heard him talking and giggling @ 1:30. I let him carry on for 5 minutes and then it went quiet and when I checked in he was fast asleep so who knows??

I have given him sister lilian rescue rest tissue salts before. it seems to help - I have taken it too when I struggle to sleep.

He's also learnt how to climb out his cot and comes to fetch us @ 6 am. So I get up and read to him, let him play with his shape puzzle etc and get ready for work. I had to go get him more clothes today. He's outgrown so much of his clothing now!

He seems to understand everything I tell him / ask him. His talking still isnt 100% but it's definitely improving.

Robin, your pics are gorgeous.

When we flew with Evan I used Illiadin and stopayne. He was an angel going down and a terror flying back. Make sure you have tons of snacks, drinks and activities. I'm flying with him to and from PE at the end of the month.

Robin your pics are gorgeous! I cannot believe how fast your pregnancies are going!!

Hi ladies
TGIF
It's my 20wk scan on Tues - can't believe I'm half way already!!

FG - I was advised by a colleague and a pharmacist to give D Allergex (anti-histamine) to make her
drowsy, but it had the complete opposite effect - she was wide awake the whole time (even tho we
woke her at 03h30) But she was an absolute angel on the plane - she loved the bump take off and
landing and I just gave her things to suck/chew to keep her ears from popping. She then fell
asleep for 90mins on the 4hour drive to the park. There were so many kids & babies on both
flights, we were surprised, but D was definitely the best behaved - no crying at all, she just
wanted to walk up and down the aisle saying HI to everyone!

There is def a sleep issue happening now
Thankfully D seems to be over hers - we just put a proper duvet over her (instead of the blankets)
and we read her a few pages from a book and leave the light on very low.
She still seems to wake herself up either for a bottle or from dreaming, but she gets up at 07h00

We are busy getting ready for the renovations at our house in July, so very exciting, but boy do the
figures jsut keep adding up - so much for our "budget" :pinch:

Hope you all have a great weekend

 yes much better FG... Sorry for the rant

:-) so last night we had no electricity from 6 until - half past twelve is my clock are correct... GRRRRR Luckily we had already done supper and taken K for a walk around the block. We were sitting in the bath together when everything went dark!

It seems we are all battling with our LO's fighting sleep lately... must be something they are going through... K finally went back to her usual sleep last night - From 7 - till about 4:30 then bottle and doze till 6. but for some reason she doesn't want to go to bed unless mommy's in the room... she has never been like that so i hope it passes... no fun hanging about in k's room at 4 in the morning!

Joybaby i hear you with trying the meds i also have to confess to giving her three drops of rescue remedy last week saturday night after 5 night of bad sleep in a row i was sorta at my wits end and desperate!! Dh suggested brandy (his parents and colleagues used it) so i compromised with the rescue remedy... What the heck once off it cant be too bad huh?

Let us know what you decided with the Job, how did they take the news?

COLS - so good to see you, sorry its because you are sick... :-( hope you feel better soon!!! and Good luck on the TTC journey (I saw your post there)

Shame JB!! We also had a rough night last night!! Em only went to sleep after 9PM and put up a huge fight! Then dh was up with her from 2:30AM until almost 3:30AM. She was fast asleep when he left the room, but 10 minutes later, she woke up calling for him again! So, he just brought her to our bed and she layed on my chest for about 15 minutes then went to sleep. But, I left her in our bed and I dont sleep very comfortably with her there, so did not get much sleep for the rest of the night. I got up to shower at about 7:15AM and she carried on sleeping until 8:30!!! She even slept through the noise of me blowdrying my hair in the room.

Kerry - hope you feeling better.

Cols - nice to hear from you, hope you get well soon.

JB - let me know what you decided about the job!!! Have you spoken to them about the pregnancy yet?

Very nervous about Sunday - flying with Em for the first time!! Robyn, how did your flight with Dakota go?

Oh my word what a night!!!
Kaylee woke up at 11:30pm with nightmares (This seems to happen every other night at the moment!) but she just wouldn't settle. So eventually at about 1pm we put Winnie the Pooh on and lay her in our bed. DH turned around and carried on snoozing but I cant sleep when she's awake. At 2:30ish we forced her to go back to sleep after a lot of crying and moaning she was finally asleep around 3am. And then she decided to wake up promptly - and unhappily - at 6am! She is now so miserable this morning as she really should've slept longer and I am too exhausted to do anything and have a huge headache
We give her ponado / nurofen and a cough syrup (she has a dry cough atm) which normally helps to some extent but did nothing last night

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.
