Kerry tx for the advice. I know its better for her but I still feel guilty. She had a bad fall yesterday and scraped her upper lip quite badly. It looks like carpet burn. Her nose is runny on top of that which is then very sore to wipe and she's not interested in blowing at the moment.

Jeanine wow good luck with unpacking, I feel you! Rather take your time unpacking then its not all hard work and no enjoyment. And in a few months you'll be nicely settled in. Hopefully you can make the smaller space work for you! It's much easier when there is lots of cupboards and storage space though and less clutter!
We have been with the inlaws for 3 weeks and I'm still struggling to find place for all our stuff

Please tell me more about the playgym!!! It looks awesome and I want to get her one for her 2nd bday - her (my) list of 'wants' is getting rather long already!

Went for an interview this morning with yet another recruitment agency. It was for a specific job though and they seem excited about putting me forward for the position. It's also fairly close to home so although salary is a little on the low side of what our budget requires I will take it if offered.
Still waiting on feedback from last week's one should hear closer to the end of the week if I'm shortlisted.
And got a call for another one which I've been shortlisted for. Same salary as this other one, but a bit more driving involved so not too sure yet. I cant exactly be fussy hey!

Did any of you start a new job while PG? I seem to think at least one person did. I still stress about months down the line telling them I am pg and need to go on maternity leave. Although I will prob see what I can do to work from home / part time to subsidise my income and help them not need to employ someone else in my place.

Just one more week until my scan! I am nervous and excited at the same time. Because there's no tummy and no movement, I really dont feel pregnant and occasionally I convince myself that something's happened. But I felt the same thing last scan and all was fine. I cant remember how I got through this last time. But I keep having to remind myself that so far this has been the most normal pregnancy I've had, with the MS and no spotting etc. I must just be grateful and hopefully it means baby is healthy too.

Emily does the same with the potty. She sits on it and even makes "sh, sh, sh" noises and then gets off and wees next to the potty oh well, we will get there eventually!

Good luck with the unpacking Jeanine! 3 months time and its my turn - not looking forward to it, but at least I am taking a week off to get things done.

RE: haircuts, Emily's hair is soooo long in her face, that it really needs to be cut. But I don't want to, I just keep pinning it back!! Problem is that if I cut her bangs now, I will have to keep doing it and not sure if I want her to have bangs.

JB - congrats on 2nd place in the competition hopefully you get your vouchers soon so that you can buy something nice! I will let you know as soon as my sister has bought the booster, then we can make a plan for you to get the carseat.

I went for an assessment yesterday for a job promotion, so hold thumbs that goes well. I ahve worked so hard at my studies to be able to get this!!

Jeanine - love the quadro system!! I am going to start building Emily's once we in the new place and have a nice big backyard - very excited!!

JanineK - wow sounds busy, unpacking can take months.. and then you still land up moving the stuff later when you realise its more practical another way... Good luck...

Looks like the haircut went well. i still have to take K, but she has so little hair already that ppl still think she is a boy! so i just havent worked myself up to it...

Joybaby - i would still take her to creche... i hate it sometimes too when k doesn't want me to leave but as soon as i close the door i hear her go quiet... It will pass and it really is so much better for her. kaelyn seems to learn so much from the other kids!

Will keep FX for the interviews... i don't know how you keep the faith... especially when they don't get back to you... youre a stronger person than me i assure you.

Kerry I know it seems to be such a busy time of year!

Kaelyn sounds exactly like Kaylee with the potty training. She sees the other kids at the daymom using the potty so she 'play' uses it too. Pulls her pants down, and her top up, and sits on the potty. The only problem is she only sits for all of 2 seconds and then stands up again. I think she tells me she wants to 'peepee' (lots of afrikaans words in her vocab from the daymom) once she's already made one so then its too late. Yesterday she also made a wee next to the potty and I never knew it, only saw the wet spot later and her wet socks too!

They love their independence at this age!

Thanks for asking about the interviews. 2 were for temp positions in Stellenbosch. One at BAT, one at Capitec, both short contracts but would at least help pay some bills even if its not a lot.
The other was for an engineering firm in Paarden Eiland who do work for oil rigs. Its a new division so as they have grown they have moved to their own premises and now need admin staff. The manager I would be assisting is away on business till Friday. They hope to do interviews asap once he's back so hopefully I'll get a call back soon for a 2nd interview.

FG that sounds like a fabulous holiday! Its so nice when the kids have friends to play with! I could do with one of those! I find K plays better with the slightly older kids and she loves getting lots of attention so she's not the kind to go and play on her own.
We could never do a long drive with her at this stage! Her baby car seat is simply too small for her, and we are waiting for the vouchers from the competition we came 2nd in on moomie thanks to all your votes () so we can go buy her a proper toddler car seat. Cannot wait for that cos driving is a complete nightmare at the moment!

I hope that John is settling in nicely at the new school. It's actually very good for them at this age.
Happy anniversary for last week! Shew you were together long before tying the knot!
Its a hard decision when time comes to decide whether to have more kids or not. We'll all have that decision to make eventually. But its yours to make, as long as you and hubby are in agreement as it can cause a huge wedge in ur relationship.
I had a friend who was adament about one, it then changed to will consider another when 1st was 4, and now they have 2 and happy for it. Another friend very adament about 1, fell pg without knowing it and only discovered she was pg at 6 months and are also very happy with their two. So dont consider the door entirely shut but dont linger on it too much either.

We also watched The Avengers on opening night, was really cool. I enjoyed that they add a sense of humour to the story for those who dont follow marvel comics to enjoy too.

Cold is better. Scan is next Tuesday hopefully we'll find out boy or girl.
Yes Rei for a girl and Kai for a boy are the names decided on years and years ago already so no changing that! Kaylee was included in the mix when Firefly series was around, we simply fell in love with the name and so we got to give K that name. Also love the name Eli, but DH has always loved the name Kai so I want him to get the choice this time.

I am feeling really guilty about taking K to the daymom while I am at home.
We have good reasons for doing so. I have to keep her spot there so that when I go back to work she still has a place to go. The routine is important for her. She plays well with the others, and sleeps and eats well there mostly.
I would never get anything done at home if she was here all day. She is quite a social person and doesnt just play alone, she wants you with her all the time which is quite draining and she is super attached to her grandpa which makes it hard for him to get things done while she's at home.
But she is so upset when I drop her off in the mornings. I do stay for a while so its not just drop and go but I really feel bad that she gets so upset when she could be home with me all day long

Hi Ladies,

Sorry - live has been REALLY busy the last while.

Will try and catch up a bit later, and do personals.

We moved last weekend, and except for the kitchen and our clothes, STILL haven't really unpacked anything....
The new place has plenty cupboards, but 90% of them is hanging space, so we've been busy this weekend putting in extra shelves in some of them (Luckily they all have holes drilled in them, so just a matter of getting the shelve-clips, and having wood cut). Now they are all in, so I can start the BIG job.

Since we've been in the new place, Willem has been sleeping on his single bed . We have the 'playpen' section of a room-in-a-box set (for everybody except Kerry - think cot sides without the cot base ), so we put two of the panels next to his bed (on the floor, so its quite low).
We tried to put him down to sleep on it before, but he kept on getting off to play...
Now the bed looks 'similar' to his cot, he can still get on and off himself, but he has to crawl to the bottom of the bed.
And... he has been sleeping through every night!! (well, to 5am at least - but that is still great) .

We bought the next set for his quadro jungle gym - its getting nice and big now (just missing a slide, that will hopefully come for his birthday). He LOVES climbing on it!


And I finally took the plunge. Had to cut DH's hair yesterday, so I told him lets do Willem's as well. Went MUCH better than I expected, he sat nice and quiet the entire time!!

Wow Guys... those tumbleweeds are rolling by in here...

I guess we are all just too busy at the moment... it does seem like its that time of the year where everything seems to go wrong... Hopefully it passes soon huh?

Kaelyn is doing well, keeps dragging me to the toilet, unfortunately she doesn't have the patience to sit there long enough, which ended dramatically this weekend in her having a wee, right next to the toilet... so i quickly grabbed her and put her back on... and she stopped... so i though hmm she must be finished and off we waddled to her room to get a new nappy and get dressed... only for her to wee on the carpet there....

but never mind, we will keep trying...

She is already in a single bed in her own room... its a bunk bed, but on the floor, and i have put our step ladder next to it for her to use to get in and out, it works nicely!
