hi ladies,

yep i still owe you pics. we are still settling in. my lil boy is such an angel. the opposite of how his older brother was. Liam hardly cries, he is (BF) feeding and sleeping very well. the only times he moans a bit i when it is feeding time, nappy changing time of burp time. what a bliss my lil man!

Lenght: 42cm (very short)
time of birth: 9:10

In short, the BH i experienced was REAL CONTRACTIONS and i was dialated (only 2/3cm) BUT
the problem was that my lil man's heart was not coping to well (missed beats and was all over the show). his bpm ranged between 90-170bpm throughout the night and he took a huge dip at bout 02:00. I was doing fine at that stage, so fine that i thought i'd be going home. I got 2 sets of steroid shots - cos he is so tiny for 38w - one the night before and one the morning.

dr came round the following morning and checked the night's observation reports and said that i should go to his rooms (in hospital) in 5mins time that he could do a scan. Still i thought i would be going home after that. the pains were still there and it did not get stronger, but it did not go away either. so on my way to the dr's rooms DH came and we went together - still said to him it is a false alarm.

ok dr did the scan, it revealled that there was basically no fluid and with each contraction the cord was cut off from circulation. only one of the three veins had a proper flow. and with the contractions LO's heart missed a beat/two (two sec's at least).

so there we went to his office (did not know i had to go back to the l-ward), dr's sec came to tell me to go back to the ward asap cos dr's getting theathre ready i am going in for a c-sec. meanwhile the dr rushed to get theatre ready....i got premeds and my 'sexy white jacket' and we completed the forms (AND i had coffee and a rusk at six that morning)...and then we went to the theatre...and the rest is history....

Congrats Mommy2J and BabyZee, looking forward to hearing your birth stories and so glad that everything went well for both of you.

Well I went for my 37 week scan yesterday and my boy is now 3kg and 50cm long. He is on track to be about 3.5/ 3.6kg and no sign of coming early, at least for now. So I may still be a September mommy after all He hasn't dropped yet and placenta is still good and his heart rate is fine.

I'm going for my leg wax and pedi tomorrow, can't wait for the pampering. And I'm going to try go have some highlights next week.

Ooh I popped into the Woolies sale, naughty naughty, there was so much to choose from with the baby clothes and really good discounts. I got a few items for next winter for my baba

It's so lovely having this time "off". I'm trying to savour the me-time as much as possible. I had an extra long shower this morning

Hey JudesMom, enjoy the sleeping in, I'm sleeping in more and more each day, must be our bodies storing energy to prepare us

I think I may be finished washing all the baby clothes, can't believe how long I'm taking to do things these days but I suppose carrying an extra 17kgs could be the reason. LOL.

I see there are a few mommies due in the next week, how are the nerves ladies?

just at quick update, i am back home today the c/s went very well it was real quick baby weighed 3.4kgs at 51cms he is sucking like a pro and doing really well, i will post pics and my birth story soon.

Girly i just want to wish you all the best for tomorrow, i am sure you will do great! I cannot wait to see Kaylee's pics.

Congratulations Mommy2J, and im so happy things went well and that Hubby is also playing his part.

Well, im really enjoying this relaxing, im still lying in bed trying to convince myself to get up but no luck! Was going to go to canal walk to get the feeding bras an slippers but mayb i will do it tomorrow.

Baby is still very active, really thought she would have come by now but still nothing, ag but im enjoying the me time so wont complain.

Anyways, good luck to Girly for tomorrow,I knw you super excited.
