Congrats to all the newest mommies and goodluck to the few that's left.

Mommy2J - I was gobsmacked reading your story about your hospital experience and am glad you are taking it further.
Name and shame them! I am so sorry you had to go through that during your most vulnerable time.
Anyway, enjoy every precious moment with your princess.

AFM, Peyton is going through her 3W growth spurt so its feeding almost every hour on the hour. Sleep pattern completely changed now, they say it lasts a few days, so hopefully we both will get through this soon as I desperately need sleep
:-)

i went to the nursery to check on her, and the sister asked me why i had called the dr as it not my privlage to call him it was hers and i had no right....then i lost it i told her i did not need her attitude and that i had called him because my daughter is my priority and i dont give a rats ass if she is offended they did not answer the bell when i needed them and have been so rude and carfree and i had had enough i told her to do her job and follow the dr's orders and to take care of my baby! i was crying and hysterical at that point. so i went to se her and she was in the incubator and all alone and i was in a state. i couldnt believe the attitude of these nurses!

The next day she was doing much better and the mucus was clearing up at the end of the day i checked her file and realised that nobody had given her the demazine the whole day and asked the nurse she brushed it off and said mabe some one had given it BUT WHY THE HELL HAD THEY NOT CHARTED IT !

i WAS FURIOUS AND CALLED THE DR AGAIN, HE CALLED THEM AND THEY CAME TO TELL ME THAT THE DAY STAFF HAD FORGOTEN AND THEY WOULD GIVE IT TO HER THE NEXT MORNING, the next morning i woke up to find the nurse administering the demazine she charted it and me and baby went back to sleep....3 min later i woke up to find a different nurse opening the demazine i asked her what she was doing she said she had to give her the medicine i said somebody was just in here and gave it to her, she said no she must give it and proceeded to open the bottel i sat up and said look in the file it has been given already she then opend the file and saw and said oh ok.....so casual she was about to overdose my poor 3 day old baby and she walked out so casually.!
What if i had not woken up!!!!!!!
this was ridiculous!!!!!

The dr came to see her and i told him what had happend and he urged m to take it further, i just did not have the energy my spirit was broken and i was exhausted one day they dont give her any meds and next day they almost overdose her!

i am going to take it further, but at that point i just wanted to get home and out of that hell.

On my first day after the c-sec they brought me a chicken burger to eat and i couldnt eat it as i was to poorly the next morning i asked for a cup of tea and was told i wasnt allowed that!! BUT I COULD HAVE A FREIKEN CHICKEN BURGER!!!!

IT WAS A DAMN CIRCUS! AND MY MEDICAL AID ACTUALLY HAS TO PAY THIS PATHETIC EXCUS OF A HOSPITAL!

THEY COMPLETELY RUINED THE ENTIRE EXPERIANCE FOR ME, I ASKED THEM FOR A CHAIR FOR MY ROOMAS I WAS STRUGGLING TO BREASTFEED IN BED WITH THE CUT AND THEY SAID SORRY WE DONT HAVE CHAIRS! WTF!

Ladies i hope your experiance was better then mine, i am home now and sienna is doing so well and now so am i but taht hospital has not heard the last of me!

hi and congrads to all the new mommies

wow, it has flown by cant believe there are only a hand full left.
Last week this time i was booked into hospital, now i have a little princess fast asleep in her crib the antisipation of this little person we were dying to meet and now she is here in our lives and its like she was always here....cant imagine life without her.

I didnt post my birth story here, i posted it on the birth story forum but have to admit it was a wonderful birth but expriance in the hospital was awful beyond words.

I was so depressed in hospital i am only now just starting to feel like myself again.

I booked into hospital monday night and asked for something to make my tummy work as i had been constipated for over a week, they told me they coulnt give me anything so went to bed at around 3am i wok up and found i was soking wet i went to the loo and realised my waters had broken, i called the sister who did an internal and she said i was 2cm dilated and that they had to stop labour i was so sure i could go natural and the fact that my waters broke the night before my s-c-sec made me think it was a sign so i asked if i could possibly let nature take its own course and giv it a shot, the sister however was not intrested she said there was no way and gave me the meds to stop labour she said it was all booked and i couldnt just cancel. I was in such a state of shock i didnt even argue.

I fell asleep and woke up to her wanting to prep me for theater, i got an injection in the bum and my catheter and drip and dh and my mom were there i was wheeled to theatre...after a painless spinal block my legs went dead and we were a for away...twenty min later i heard my baby cry and dr took her to examin her....they held her up for me to see and off they took her!!!! i didnt get to even look nicely or take in the moment. They proceeded to stich me up it felt like hours and in recovery my bp dropped drastically and i had to be there for 40 min as the tried to control it.

eventually i was back in my room and a half hour later dh brought sienna...i held her and had my moment.

then my sister came in and we were all looking at her all of a sudden she starts turning blue and wont breathe in there was mucus in her mouth and dh ran to sister and they suctioned her and brought her back. WHAT A PANIC!

That night i didnt want her to stay in the nursery as they take them on the first night, i explained to th nurse i was concerned as she had stopped breathing and i didnt think she should be left on her own as there was not always somebody in the nursery, the nurse was so cold and horrible and said she must go to the nursery i asked will there always be someone in there she rudely said that they would be there unless they were busy..... not long after that it happend again and she turned blue and sort of choking on the mucus, this timei was alone and i couldnt move i pushed my emergancy button and nobody came so i started screaming for help at that point i had managed to get her to breathe and casually the nurse walks in and asks whats wrong i totally freaked out they took her again to suction, while they were gone i called her paedatrician (I HAVE HIS CELL NUMBER) and told him what was happening to her...he freaked out and wanted to know why nobody had informed him the first time it happend he called the hospital and asked th sister to check her file...NOTHING HAD BEEN REPORTED ONCE ABOUT HER MUCUS OR CHOKING AND IT HAD HAPPEND 3 TIMES BY THEN!! H e then said she must go in the incubator and perscribed demazine to dry the mucus

Hello ladies, I hope you all had fabulous weekends! Can you feel Spring is in the air?

Congratulations Girly and welcome to baby Kaylee! Looking forward to hearing the story and seeing pics. Hope your first few days and nights have been magical.
And thanks BabyZee and BlessedtobeMommy, so lovely to hear your stories. Just makes me more and more excited!

Hi Sonjat, anything happened yet? Good luck for today if you were induced, maybe you already have your baby in your arms :)

Shame Judesmom, any news yet? I'm sure you're probably getting tired of well-meaning friends and family asking you if anything has happened yet?

I freelance so for the last 2 weeks I have been on maternity leave as 2 projects I was expecting both fell through. Then all of a sudden I've been given a new project for this week so back to the grindstone! But it's great because now I will have a little bit of money for September.

I still need to sort out whether I can claim UIF or not, its been a while since I paid UIF so I'm going to chat to Vanessa from Tums2Mums and see what she has to say.

I'm going for my 38 week check up on Wed and doc is going to do an internal to check my cervix. Last week Baba, although lying head down, was facing my back instead of to the left or right so I've been doing this forward inversion exercise off the couch to try and get him to rotate a little bit. Apparently if his head engages at the "looking downwards or upwards" angle then the labour could be long. But if he is looking sideways when he engages then labour should be smoother. I'll keep you girls posted B)

My long awaited birth story

So Monday morning I woke up, a bit disappointed that nothing happened through the night…
Like you all know I had to check my BP every day due to high BP. So I got dressed and off to the Dr I am to check my BP. Not expecting it to be high it was 132/91. So I phoned my gynea because she said as soon as it goes over 90 I have to phone her. So she sent me to the labor ward. Got there and my BP was 146/97. She arrived and told me she is going to do an induction but I’m can go home first and come back that evening at 20:00 and they’ll put the induction in at 22:00. She also did an internal and I was 2cm dilated already.

Excited and nervous at once, I phoned DH. He was on the gholf course. So we decided to go have some lunch because it will be the last time we will be able to have lunch just the two of us… DH also said I should walk a lot because just maybe it will not be necessary for an induction. So we walked and came home to rest.
I made sure my bags and Armand’s bags are sorted. I also lost my mucus plug that afternoon and started to feel some contractions. It was still way to far apart.
So we got at hospital at 20:00 and all the observations etc started. At 21:00 they gave me a sleeping pill because they thought that I’ll only go into labor the next day at 09:00… At 22:00 they put the induction in (a pill into my …) and the contractions started. At 23:00 I called the sister and said that my contractions are very very sore. So she removed the pill. At 00:45 I went to the loo and there were a bloody discharge, so I called the sister and she said that she thinks my water is about to break. She did an internal and I was 4cm dilated and as soon as she was finish, my water broke. I immediately asked for an epidural and she did an internal again and said it was too late because I’m 7cm dilated now. So they called DH (they made him a bed in hospital) and he had to go fetch all the bags in the car. When he came back (5min later) I was 9cm dilated already and it felt like I had to push! My doc was not there yet. She arrived just in time. I was fully dilated and they told me to push. It is the most weird feeling ever. Feels like I have to push out a nr 2 but nothing wants to happen!!! DH was amazing!! He counted for me till ten while I was pushing. Don’t know how many pushes there was, but eventually Armand came out with his hand besides his head. They also had to cut me about 5 – 6 cm. It was the most amazing feeling ever when they had put him on my chest immediately!!! I felt so emotional and cried!! Through the whole story I did not scream or cry once, but I think it was the sleeping pill

Armand Cillie born 01:45, 3.8kg, 50cm and no epidural!!!! Was in labor for 3hours and 45min! Praise God! We prayed for an easy labor and a quick one

I’ll go natural any day again!! I could walk and sit that same day still. I felt normal with no pain!! Not even my cut!
Unfortunately Armand was admitted to NICU with jaundice from day 2 – 7! It broke my heart to leave him there!!! I never ever want that over!!!
He is home now, such a good boy! He is still a bit yellow, but his bili count is still ok, so no need for lights. He is our bundle of joy!!! We Praise God for our little boy!
So ladies, sorry you had to wait nearly 2 weeks

Can not wait to read all of your birth stories!!!!

Congratz to all the new mommies!! May God protect you and your LO’s always!!!

Can not believe the pregnancy is over all ready!

Have a nice day!

Will post a pic soon
