Hi ladies
It's so interesting to see how differently toddlers of about the same age grow up and advance

Dakota is still not really walking on her own - she walks very confidently if she's holding your finger, if you hold the back of her top or she's holding onto something (walking along the bed etc) and she can walk between people (taking a few steps on her own)

But she has almost no vocabulary - she says Dadada, Nanana and I'm just starting to get her to say Mamama (altho she starts off almost biting her bottom lip to say that)

She has abit of a cold and we went to visit my parents on Sun, so she didn't really eat or sleep much and was abit miserable and when we got home she had abit of a fever and was not happy

Arrrghh!! Last night, DH & I ended up having a huge fight about my parents vs his mom etc etc and I was stuck in the middle - DH saying he won't take Dakota to see my parents again etc etc
Eventually my mom phoned and ended up talking to DH and I think it has kinda been resolved now, but it was terrible!! DH keeps saying that if my dad says anythign to him, then there will be war

Hey ladies, have not posted in a while, but have been reading your updates.

MY LG is growing up so quickly. She really has become a happy little bubbly girl over the last 2 weeks - a real toddler now! Not walking and to be honest, not really showing ANY signs of being ready to walk anytime soon either - she does not even stand on her own for a few seconds - hold onto something really tighly and has only started walking when we hold her hands about 2 weeks ago - before then, she wouldn't even hear anything about that either! She is an expert at climbing stairs though and climbs in and out of almost everything. We have gotten her 2 tires to put in the yard which are now her favourite toys - forget the expensive outside toys that mommy bought me for my bday - the tires are much more fun. I just need to get around to painting them so that they at least look pretty! I am really loving this stage, she has such an amazing sense of humour and the personality is the best! I love it!!

Sher - so sorry to hear about the smash and grab - i wish we didn't have to deal with these kinds of things in the world

How are your LO's sleeping? Emily seems to be cutting out her morning nap and only having 1 nap per day now. We tried it over the weekend and she slept much better at night so I am hoping that this works and that we finally get some decent sleep at night again - I have been seriously sleep deprived and very grumpy....

Ginah! Long time no hear. Hope you are good. Happy birthday to Liwa. She is like John, not walking yet but crawling up a storm and pulling himself on everything and tumbling over everything

Sher, lovely locks like her mamma Enjoy your break away, its always good to get away from the big smoke (Joburg) and just relax for a bit. Shame, I know how you feel about being broke - I had a client not pay me in July and couldn't buy DH a present or take him out, its tough. But glad you are feeling a bit better. I don't watch Carte Blanche and try not watch the news either anymore, I can't handle hearing all the negative stuff.Happy birthday little K for next week

John really loves his playgroup. On his first day, he came home and slept for 2.5 hours in the afternoon. But I think it was a fluke cos on his 2nd day he didn't sleep a wink in the afternoon! Drove me mad (not really). Time will tell, he goes again tomorrow.

Loving the sunshine, even if we have skipped straight past Spring into Summer.

work is still hectic..

We watched Carte Blanche last night, I was really shocked at our crime rate in SA...

there was 16 000 murders in the last year !!! shocking and the rape nos

we have 50% in gauteng

tomorrow gonna take DH and K to dinner... in the week is hard but wont be a long one ..... K routine just gets thrown out the window when we out at night.

Have her 1 year check up next tuesday...

K really keeps us on our toes. where do these babies learn things that they doing, they too small to be so advanced

her hair has gone so long, i am clipping it up now, she has lovely locks

Hi all

each day is getting better but must say I am still a bit scared and paranoid. i guess cause I lost so much. was not couple hundreds but I lost thousands of rands and valuables as well.... some jerk having your address and house keys out there, is not nice thought

anyway, K is cutting two more teeth, but no crying or anything, her birthday is next friday so we taking the day off and we decided to go down the coast and spend with both our families and have a little party.... just small for the photos and memories. next year is big, we will her friends and the other moms and dads and friends

would be good to see my family and I miss them. its been a hard month with the theft and then was our anniversary a week ago, tomorrow is DH birthday and then next week K birthday... so broke

such is life.... can only get better
