Hey girls

Nice to see some activity here again.

Robyn - hope you doing ok. I agree with JB, your dh does seem to be a bit unrealistic and out of touch with reality sometimes :( Someone needs to tell him that the days of having a wife at home, pregnant and barefoot in the kitchen (as the saying goes) is looooooooooooooooooong over  I can assure you that if my dh ever swore at me, he would sleep outside..................in the rain...............for a month!!!!!! But, I do understand that situations are different in every household, so I just want to make sure that you are taking care of YOU!!! So, if you are happy, then great, but if not, you really do need to have a little heart-to-heart with him because I do not know of any other woman who will put up with that sort of treatment. He also needs to consider what he is teaching Dakota in terms of the kind of treatment that is acceptable to woman. And like JB said - sorry if we are saying the wrong things here, we saying it because we have all become good "cyber friends" here and we care about you

Cols - sorry to hear about your gran :( hope you doing well otherwise.

Kerry - I cannot read your post for some reason, but JB told me about your little K!! Hope she gets better soon - please keep us posted.

JB - that would be lovely if you got to move into a 3 bedroomed place. Keep me posted on that and sounds like a good opportunity with your friend.

We are doing good - just extremely busy with plans for the renovations, the move, Em's party, my studies, my increasing workload and then just the regular day-to-day things as well. (oh and not forgetting my weight loss mission  )Life is HECTIC at the moment!!!! But we are in a good place and having fun! Weightloss is going slower than I anticipated, but on a good track. Lost 3Kg's so far in just over a month! Cant believe I am doing all this just to pick it up again with another pregnancy next year!!! LOL

Stay warm ladies
xx

Hi all.

Roybn I honestly cannot believe hubby is giving you a hard time about Dakota's finger being cut. Give a mom a break for once really!!!
He doesnt know how good he has it with you, but seems like he demands a lot of unrealistic things from you sometimes like demanding a boy and giving you silent treatment :(
I really hope you can sort it out and that you'll have a heart to heart. Also hun, not bringing something up because you're afraid of him bad mouthing you in an argument is not acceptable. Maybe not what you're wanting to hear but I had a long think about your post today and it's really not fair on you to not be able to freely discuss issues at hand without the fear you're going to get verbally and emotionally abused :( Big hugs. Sorry again if I'm saying the wrong things here.
You're an awesome mom and D and M are lucky to have you! But you're also only human, and have a full time job and are pregnant so once in a while you're allowed to not make supper and just take ur time doing things and DH and everyone else can go jump.

Kerry I havent seen any updates from you on FB. How is K doing now? Are the antibiotics working? Please keep us posted.

Cols thx for popping in amidst the crazy. Really sorry to hear about your gran though, and then to have work stress on top of it!
Hopefully that'll be done soon and you can find a chance to take a well deserved break!

To all who are building / renovating / moving (seems almost all of us has done some sort of moving this year!) I hope it doesnt get too hectic and that you enjoy a glass of wine if you can to keep from hitting rock bottom! It'll all be worth it in the end, but dont be too hard on yourselves!

My inlaws are thinking of renting a 3bdrm place from 1 October when their current lease expires. They would do it so that Kaylee can get her own room once baby arrives. We are likely to be with them until around April next year as things stand.
It would be totally awesome as I think having her own space and a bigger lounge would make a huge difference, but dont want to get my hopes up just yet!

Still no luck on the job front even for temp stuff. Am busy talking with a friend who owns a book company about expanding into kids educational things, so maybe a possibility to start something with them and find a permanent half day job to secure a fixed income. Will meet with them next week, and could still take a while but certainly beats relying on an employer to want to employ me! And it would allow us to consider a nanny for baby and flexible time if required for Kaylee's surgeries / kids getting sick etc. Lots of praying and thinking to do about this one but certainly sounds awesome at this point and very exciting!

K is doing well. She had a sinus type cold last week. Runny nose, a bit chesty but thankfully didnt have any fevers along with it, so got some dualin and gave that with telfast and acc200 every day and it seems she's over the worst of it.
She is at a very cute but busy age. Talking all the time non stop its too cute. Doesnt have any concept of other ppl and what they are doing though, she demands that you come now or go away now which is quite cute but testing too. She told me to go away so she can doedoe last night. Bought her birthday party outfit today, it's just too cute! And something she'll be able to wear throughout spring and summer. She especially loves the shoes which are polka dot grey / silver / brown pumps with bows on the top. My girly!!!
Pregnancy is going well. 24 weeks now. Only seeing gynae last week of July after pay day as medical savings is all gone. So a 6 week gap between seeing him, but that's okay. I feel her moving quite a lot, and she's higher up than before so I know she's growing. I am carrying same as I did last time, kind of all over my abdomen, and look very whale like I think, no defined bump for me! I will have to loose 30 kgs before we do it again so I can try one last time for a cute basketball bump :)
The heartburn is a killer and everything I eat or drink makes it worse. Sleep is the only relief :) Taking loads of gaviscon to help it but oh fun! Otherwise cant really complain. We are very blessed with our friends and family, as crazy as some of them are, and live in the truth that the Lord is in control and we will get out of this eventually.

Anyway bed time for me now!!!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hey Ladies
What a weekend! Cold & wet in Cpt!!
Well, as if things aren't stressed enough between me & DH, this whole renovation
is taking it's toll already (and it's only been 1 week!)
Shame, he's working really hard and I wanted to have a nice bath and supper ready
for him when he got home last night but time just got away from me :S
I bathed D and was busy trying to change her bandage when DH got home at 19h00
(and D was screaming her head off, which wasn't a good welcome home for DH)
DH walked straight to the kitchen, checked the oven, microwave for fod, but there
wasn't anything, so he came to the room and literally blew his top - screaming and
swearing at me that he worked so hard and all he wanted was a hot plate of food!
I had done nothing all day and couldn't even bother to get food for him :pinch:
Needless to say, we haven't spoken since!
I did apologise, but decided not to say too much as when DH gets angry, he says very
hurtful things - and I didn't want that!
H'e so busy at the house that he hasn't even asked me how I'm feeling
sigh! :(

Replied by cols on topic Re: August-September 2010 Moms
hey girls, sorry I've been scarce.

Then my gran passed away - tuesday. it was terrible how she had deteriorated these last few months but at the same time I have such a void where my gran once was... She was like a mom to me.

Work is just madness - it's quarter end so we are driving our quota... Literally they were calling me when I was packing up her stuff, organising the funeral @ the funeral etc...

Robyn, shame HUN! You must've been so devastated! I did that to Evan twice in 1 go when he was a baby - baby and I was trying to cut his nails while he slept. I hope you both recover soon! Stunning about your parquet floors. We have reclaimed parquet in our house, it's lovely. :)

Joy, Shame hun. I hear you on not feeling wanted, Evan loves me for about 5 minutes and then he asks me to take him to school. or he wants his granny or my sister...

Kerry! OMW your poor angel!!! How is she doing?! I would have been hysterical - you are so strong! When are you testing again?

Jeanine, WELL DONE. It's great that your boss trusts you so much. How did it go?

OMG!!!!
I'm the worst Mommy ever!
I tried to cut D's finger nails this morning but I cut the tip of her thumb and ended up
taking her to the emergency room at 07h00
DH was so upset with me  of course he got a fright as well but I was more
traumatised than D
He wanted to take her to MIL but I insisted on taking her to the hospital
The nurse just put some anaesthetic & adrenalin drops on D's finger and bandaged it
I freaked cos it wouldn't stop bleeding!
The nurse was very calm - abit too calm, she took her time when D was bleeding all
over and I'm trying to calm her down while keeping myself from freaking out
The dr was pathetic - he just popped past for 1 min, told the nurse what to do
and then left
But D was a trooper - she only cried when the nurse was touching her thumb
At least the bill wasn't too bad - R500 for about an hour in total

Kerry - def praying for a very speedy recovery!!

D is still with MIL - she's only starting nursery school in Jan, but we want to send her
2 or 3 days per week this year (from Aug) to get her used to everything
I will have 3 months before D starts school with McK, so am hoping MIL will still look
after D so I can look after McK - at least for abit!

It will take about a month maybe more maybe less to heal. Have to go back to the doc on friday and if he doesn't see improvement then its not bells palsy and then he will book her in and investigate further, starting with a cat scan as a tumour is the next most likely bet. So we are praying for improvement at this point.

Sadly as the doc said it is gonna get worse first. today is the first day where she woke up and it isn't worse... its about the same as yesterday, so i am hoping after her lunch time nap... but we will see!!

Girly, so happy to hear you are finding bed time so much easier!!! It pays to stick to a routine! They seem to get so caught up in showing you they know what comes next that they put themselves to bed! :-)

Robyn ;-) yaaay for the Parqet flooring i think i would be right chuffed about that one!!! and Fingers crossed all is ready for you in time!

Janine - Shew it must be odd to have babs away so long! but oh so nice!
