Hi ladies
TGIF!!! again :woohoo:
Can't believe how time is flying by

Thankfully D seems to out of that sleeping problem (touch wood!)
but we also went thru a few weeks of her not wanting to go to sleep, wanting to watch tv
at 03h00, wanting to play and jump on the bed ....

I bought her some cute proper winter pyjamas yesterday (the flannel button-down kind)
She absolutely loved it (and she looked so cute - just like a mini-me!!) :P

So far I've gained 5.5 kg's in 5 months - I haven't had time to go to gym or anything and I'm
a SNACKER!

Flowergirl all I can say is crap!!! And I can say that cos its exactly what we've been struggling with the last month or so. Every night is different, you can never predict whether you'll be having a good or bad night so I always aim to be in bed by 10.
What I find typically happens is that within 30mins of me getting into bed she'll start up, regardless of if its 8pm or midnight :(
And because they are so attached to you, you cant escape from the room and go get a few hours sleep elsewhere while DH takes her.
Just dont give into the demand of going downstairs cos then you'll have another problem on your hands long term!

We had similar issue last night except she wasnt demanding or asking for anything in particular. But eventually she refused to sleep anywhere but in my arms. DH eventually went to lie down in the lounge and I got her to sleep on his side of the bed, but she woke crying every 30-60 minutes at least until 3am :(
She ofcourse woke up bright and happy this morning as if nothing had happened!

So glad your nephew is doing better! Is he discharged yet?

Oh wow thats HUGE news hun!!! I expect to hear every detail :D
It's a good idea to try lose some weight before you start TTC, it'll leave you feeling healthier in the pregnancy if nothing else, and then continue eating healthy during the pg, so that after baby's birth (I almost said 'her') the weight will just fall off you!

In the beginning of the pregnancy I lost 5kgs in total which was awesome (nausea and lack of appetite in the beginning then just miraculously another 2 from 12-16 weeks!) But now I think I must've picked up those 2kgs the last 3 weeks cos I've been eating 4 slices of bread at lunch time instead of my normal 2, and snacking quite a bit in between too :( So I better get my ass in gear and eat better asap or i'll start gaining the kilo's again! It's nice to be halfway in and still at pre pregnancy weight though, just hope I dont mess it up because of bad eating habits!

Re an extra afternoon snack, I would say yes you must. Have another fruit, and take carrot and cucumber sticks with you to work too. Constant snacking keeps your metablosim working and burning.

I worked out that once baby arrives in October, I want to lose 28KG by the end of 2013. That's 28kg in 14 months, so 2 kilo's a month and again a totally realistic goal! I would still want to lose another 10kgs after that, but its getting into the diet that's the hardest part for me. Once I'm in it for 2-3 months the rest goes by so easy.

My friend lost a lot of weight doing the 'racist' diet (hehe she's a coloured who calls it this :)) - basically cut out any and all white food from your diet.

We dont really watch other ceebeebies tv shows K doesnt really like the ones that have adults in it I find. So Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Hive (Disney Junior) and Shawn the Sheep it is.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Wow - are we having crazy nights with Emily!!!!!! Boy, oh boy! I want to sell her to the gypsy's!!!

On Tuesday night, I worked on an asignment until 12:30AM, then went to bed. Emily woke at 1:15AM and we were up with her until at least 5AM!!!!!!! Can you say: E.X.H.A.U.S.T.E.D!!! I actually felt hungover at work and was convinced that I was getting sick! Then I had some chocolate and coke and suddenly I felt better (sugar rush). The worst part is that I had to be at work until 9PM because I had study group from 5PM!!! Needless to say, we left her to sleep in my mom's room on Wednesday night - I just didn't have the energy!

Then last night, she did the same thing!!! She just cries to be taken downstairs for hours on end  and even if we bring her to our bed, she kicks us and rolls around nagging all the time instead of going to sleep. If I pick her up, she starts crying to go downstairs!!! DH took her for a bit and she went ape shit! Screaming: "mommy gone, mommy gone!" So, eventually I ahd to get up AGAIN and just bring her to our bed so she could carry on kicking us and begging to go play donwstairs...........................

Really hope we get back to normal sleep routine soon - I am so drained.

Well there's my rant.

Shaun the sheep - Emily also watches that in the morning. I think its hysterical, so does she. For different reasons, Im sure :)

My nephew is back home and on the mend - thank goodness :)

So, while on holiday, dh and i decided that maybe we were ready for baby number 2......... The plan was for me to go and see my gynae this week and ask to be put back on clomid. BUT, I have given it some thought and decided that I should maybe spend the next 3 months trying to loose the 12kg's I picked up since having EM  I am just sooo scared that I pick up so much weight again with a second pregnancy and end up being horribly obese...... So, my diet officially starts next week. I am not going to be to hard on myself, so whatever I loose at the end of 3 months, I will then go on clomid. But, I do want to at least try.

Diet
Breakfast - 1 slice GI toast with marmite/Bovril/fishpaste
Snack - 1 small tub FAT FREE yoghurt & 1 fruit
Lunch - grilled protein with 2 grilled veg
Snack - havene't decided yet if I want to include another snack, but I know it will be better if I do
Dinner - grilled protein with 2 grilled veg, 1 complex carb

PLEASE wish me luck!!!! I need to loose 1KG a week - totally do-able!

JB - D also loves Shaun the Sheep (doesn't hurt that I lvoe it too!!) ;) also Waybuloo, 3rd and Bird
but her fave at the mo is Show Me Show Me
CeeBeeBees seems to be the only kids channel that has decent young kids shows, with people in it
All the other channels are just cartoons and chinese anime!

Thankfully (touch wood  ) D has gone back to her full nights sleep
She goes down at 20h00 and is asleep by 20h20 and wakes up at 07h00/07h30
I just need to read her a story and stay in the room til she's happy enough to fall asleep (so I use
the time to clean her room and get my clothes ready for the next day)
But she's now afraid of the dark, so we have to leave her light on, but we dim it alot

Hey everyone! Sorry for being so scarce, I do read but dont always get time to write.

FG your daughter is stunning hun! You should submit her for magazine adverts!
Shew your holiday sounds like a dream! And even Em's being sick didnt get her down!!! Cant wait for more holiday pics :D
How is your nephew doing today? Any improvements? Shame poor boy!

Jeanine so glad your tooth pain is gone! Shew its a real irritation!
And glad youre settling into your new home now!
Very hectic re dropping Willem off in the mornings, must really mess with your timing!

I agree with you there. Long stretches of sleep, even if they wake earlier is much better than waking up frequently and waking later!
I think our kids are finally getting to an age where they appreciate sleep and the fact that they get tired! What a relief!

Haha Willem and K are exactly the opposite with their clothes! K wears 6-12m pants if its jeans or cordroy and 12-18m if its tracksuits with a decent elastic band.
But her 12-18m tops are sitting a bit snug already so will be buying bigger sizes next time we shop for her.
K is still a size 3 shoe, but slowly getting too big for them and the last 2 pairs I bought were a size 4. She is short and small though so she would look weird with bigger shoes!

Very cute about his favourite word being 'more'! K does it too. And 'no' but not 1 syllable, rather 'nooooooooo' and pushes whatever we're offering away.
Her new favourite word is 'draw'. She loves drawing and I bought her a cute colourful paper scrapbook which is all her own so every morning and night we all have to draw with her.
Her new favourite TV show is Shawn the Sheep. I dont mind really cos its actually very funny and only 8minutes long.

Cols how is Evan after his grommets?
I must say that since K had hers done at 1 year we havent had a single ear infection and even when she gets sick her ears remain dry and uninfected. Luckily the grommets arent falling out yet.
Hope you are hanging in there with the TTC game. I saw ur post on TTC (I'm a stalker as I have old friends there) I didnt realise you'd been trying so long already. Wow you ladies are so strong xx.
When are you seeing gynae again?

Kerry hi :D
When is the next testing date or are you not keeping track?

As for MIL's - I cant really comment as they are very cautious of comments in front of us. But I think having us staying here has opened their eyes to what we deal with every day, and the fact that shes 22months and doing just fine, so we're obviously doing something right.
Sometimes its frustrating though but I've had to learn to speak up when I'm not happy with something they're doing in regards to her health and life, otherwise the frustration will just boil. The relationships have certainly been strained due to close proximity living but it has gotten better as the routines have settled.

My bump has suddenly started showing now! And on Monday I had the first stranger ask me how far along I am :D
I am grateful cos I was stressing that I was just looking fat.

Something very strange happened today. I'm now 18w3d and for the first time today I felt for sure movements from baby. But thinking back, I was also exactly 18w3d the day I started feeling K moving :D
