I just want to update you with our good news that we went for our fetal anomaly scan yesterday and all is well!!! Her heart is healthy and everything else looks good too. We are so happy now!!! Baby has Kaylee's nose and mouth, and is on par for due date of 27 October. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief!

Hopefully DH will consider naming her now that we know things are okay.

Robyn glad all is well with McKenzie! She seriously 44cm already? K was only 47cm at birth. Maybe a different measurement?
D sounds much like Kaylee, too cute!
Last night she kicked me out my bed told me to 'go' and only once I was up she told me 'more milk mommy'! Lol!

Kerry a spit sounds nice! And in Joey's you dont have to worry about rain so you can still be outside.
Enjoy your O weekend :D :D :D It's cool that you get carried away though. Shows that its not just about falling pg and your relationship is healthy :)

Still looking for work. Even paid to place an add on Gumtree today. Specifically looking for contract work and the time span is less and less as each week passes. I can only work for 3 months now before I have to go onto maternity leave. Really hoping something bites I've been looking for 6 months already!
The few interviews I've been for they pay so little and then petrol cost etc it's really not worth it for us. Went for one with a major retailer yesterday, in imports and exports department and really cool. But it's permanent and they already have a pregnant woman doing the same job and the pay is really really low for permanent work.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hi Ladies

Went for my 24wk scan yesterday - all good with McK, she's 720g and 44cm
but she wouldn't stop wriggling around and had both her hands in front of
her face the whole time so we couldn't get a decent pic :(

D talks quite alot now but also only 2 or 3 words
was quite cute getting her ready this morning, when I wanted to put on her
socks, she grabbed them and said "I'll do it!" :P
She also knows the words to Old Mother Hubbard, Humpty Dumpty and Hey Diddle Diddle
so if you leave out a word, she shouts it for you
D's 2nd b'day will be in the other house - hopefully all the renovations will be done before then
so haven't really given it too much thought (will have a jumping castle in the garden)

:-) Hi girls, sorry its been me too so i guess i can't complain!

Girly - WOW such a mission to get a booking with the specialist, i remember i also had issues getting a booking, eventually my Gynea phoned the Specialist and pled my case for me :-)

Havent even thought of planning K's party yet (Oops) I know last year i said the next one wouldn't be such an event and there was no way we would do a spit again... but that being said... i am thinking of a spit again... just a smaller one this time...

Flowergirl - Full sentences... WOW we are maybe at three or four wourds... an as rarely as she can get away with... bus she will happily grab a book and sit and read it to you... occasionally she even throws in an actual word.

Oh and we had such a laugh last friday... she messed cooldring on the tiles at my parents place, my hubby went to fetch the mom and my dad came in and asked who messed (knowing it was her as she was standing in the puddle)... she looked at him straight in the face and said.... "not me, daddy" I suspect she meant daddy was cleaning it... but oh my word!

Well as for me its o Day on saturday so planning to send K off to a grandparent for the night, or maybe ship her off to a firend who is keen to babysit. The only trouble is, well  we seem to be having trouble waiting for ovulation... twice now we have thrown the plan to the wind (Oops) Last night was officially hight girl conception night and... well you know how it just sorta happens!

anyways girls have a great Thursday... and its officially the countdown to summer!!!!!

Yip JB - seems everyone is hibernating for the winter!!! no movement here at all :(

Hope you feel better soon - sucks being sick while pregnant :(

Glad you got an appointment at the fetal assessment centre - please let us know how it goes. Praying for only good news!!

Em's party will be at her ouma's house since we will be in the throes of moving and renovating at the time. Trying to keep it small as we have to save every penny for our renovations. But still want to make it nice for her, so really having to be creative! I was going to do polka dots and stripes, then I wanted to do Minnie Mouse and now I have finally settled on Hello Kitty!! Can't change my mind now as invites have already been made and some have been delivered already!!! Going to be 20 kids though if everyone who was invited comes :woohoo:

Other than that, not much going on with us at the moment, just really busy with plans for the move and renovations.

And Emily has started speaking FULL sentences!!!! The other day we were driving in the car and the conversation went like this:
EM: "Mommy"
ME: "Yes, Emily"
EM: "Mommy, can Emy please get Emy's dummy and poppie please mommy"

I will remember that for as long as I live - Braam and I were sooooooo shocked and each word came out CLEAR AS DAYLIGHT!!!!

Then the next day her and my mom are out working and all of a sudden she stops and says: "Ma, can Emy go to Roxy now please ma"
And ever since, it has been full sentences all day long!! Soooooooooo special!

She is just growing up sooo quickly!

Well, have a nice weekend ladies.

Where is everyone??? :( :( :( Please dont leave me!

Robyn how is your bump? Have you found someone to train in your place yet?

Everyone started planning their kiddies bday parties yet?
We are doing a Minnie Mouse theme. Just need to look for the ears, any clue where I can get them?
It's going to be a shared party with SIL whose baby girl is a year younger than her. Most of our friends are the same so we figured we'd just do one, esp as its such a busy time of year. We're doing it on the 9th of August which is a Thursday but a public holiday.

Tomorrow is going to be nice and warm in Cape Town so I want to take Kaylee back to Stodels to feed the animals and have some ice cream.

I have managed to get a booking for my fetal anomaly scan but what drama it was.
Turns out the Dr my gynae referred me to is away the whole of June and July, and the receptionist said we would've had to book months in advance anyways cos she's so busy.
So I emailed Kaylee's cardiologist to find out who he would recommend in her place as she is the leader in the industry (Linnie Muller) and has trained up all the other specialists in Cape Town. They gave me the name of Shannon Morris at Claremont Fetal Assessment Centre and I managed to get an appointment for next Thursday 21st. I am looking forward but also just want to get it over and done with so that we can either start preparing for surgery if baby has heart problems, or relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.
Will keep you posted.

Still not finding anything on the job front. Either they pay too little to make it worthwhile, or they want a commitment of longer than 4 months.
I need to work asap to save money for the 3/4 months that I won't be able to work :( It's a bit depressing but I am honestly doing all that I can.
I always thought temping would be so easy but agents are awful at getting back to you and they promise the world but dont deliver. I think I want to become a recruitment agent so I can do the employees some justice cos in the industry its all about the employer.

Cols how you holding up? When is your appointment? I read your post on TTC thread. Wish I had advice for you. Please share your FF link if you dont mind? I'd really like to have a look. I was very knowledgeable in cycles when I was TTC with Kaylee.

I have picked up a cold from Kaylee. Her daymom was sick last week and Thursday Friday she asked us to make other plans with our kids. Kaylee has had a runny nose since Tuesday, and I think I've now gotten it from her but worse. My throat and nose are on fire. I'm treating it as best I can but really hope and pray that it doesnt get worse, cos its so draining!

Other than that, I am finally in that enjoyable stage of pregnancy! I love my bump and people can actually see that I'm pregnant. I can feel baby moving. And I have a lot of energy compared to the last 5 months!

Anyway I better get going. Got to sort out the garage, fold washing, try get some ironing done, and bake cookies and I want to fetch Kaylee early today.

Do keep in touch!!!

Hi ladies

I will catch up properly later. Just wanted to catch you up on our scan.

All is well with HER! Weighs around 450grams now and all measurements are as they should be. Heart beat is 154BPM.
We will see the fetal specialist in 3 weeks time and back to the gynae beginning of August.
Spoke briefly about wanting natural birth if at all possible. Although they dont really make a commitment one way or another till 36 weeks when they can see baby's weight and how baby is lying etc, he seemed quite supportive of the possibility of a VBAC provided everything is fine.
He will then assess my pelvis shape (if its more tri-angle than rounded then it can make natural birth harder and riskier for vbac) and size, and see if baby is lying nicely. He is not overly concerned about scar tissue as he says experience is proving it hasn't got as much of an impact on vbac as previously thought.
I am just pleased that he didnt shoot it down right away or warn me away with risk factors etc, and that he is willing to play it by ear closer to the time.
So far baby is lying head down and legs up which Kaylee never did. She was always breach. So maybe there's a little chance that I can experience natural birth after all!

Chat soon xx
