Misstyq- congrats on your little girl!!! I am so glad that it went well!!!!!!!

so my birthstory

Tuesday evening im watching binnelanders as usual and so just laying on the couch i notice my feet are swelled up like crazy and just there i told myself....pre-eclampsia

Went to my gynae's office and showed him he took a urine sample and tested my BP which was 155/120 there were protein in my urine so he told me go pack your bags your going in

About 3 i was checked in with a drip of glucose for the evening. he was going to induce that night but he waited until morning. so im all chuffed in my private room with my aircon and dstv, thinking this isn't so bad!

Thursday morning around ten my bp was still very high but he induced me i told him if he knows that i have pre eclampsia why put me through induction if im going to end up in c section?

anyways after an ultrasound indicated that my kokedoortjie was going to be 3.6-3.8 at birth he scheduled a c section for Friday morning at 8. me knowing again that im going in that evening.

at around 6 my contractions from the induction got out of hand i was crying and it was so bad i could hardly breathe. i told the nurse to call my doc. they started preparing me for c section. Anxiety started so i did no longer feel the pain.

21:33 i went into theatre all i can remember is i prayed and then i got oxygen and then gone..... 21:50 Krisandra was born. i waked up around 12 just hearing her and trying to talk to her. it amuses me that i remembered to speak English when i asked the nurse where's my baby! Another funny thing is when i was still almost lights out i heard the nurses talking on where to find her clothes and creams and so on and i was just like pink bag, winnie pooh bag

when i first held her i knew that she will change my life forever and even thou i didn’t know her i never loved like that before!

i don't need to tell you about the stay in hospital im sure you’re all going through it.

breast feeding is going well.

Mrs SH- clearly your baby is far too comfortable!!! Let us know what your dr says.

I am really hoping to get a chance at natural (VBAC) but will settle for a c-section if need be as long as babe is healthy.
I can't believe everyone from our group has had c-sections so far!
I am so excited about my birth, not apprehensive at all.

Eloise - good luck! You've done it before so you know what you're in for! So excited for you and your family!!

Misstq - oh my word, congrats! Hope the recovery is ok and that you're enjoying every minute of your new baby!!

SimoneK - ja, I was wondering about that too. Alex moves around at certain times, but I was wondering whether more or less movement pointed towards birth. At ths point, I'll believe any old wives tale about signs for when the baby might come. I must admit, it sounds like your baby is on its way.

G Baby - lucky you! Alex hasn't dropped according to me. Going to the dr tomorrow so will have an official update then.

Eve - congratulations again. Connor has such a big mop of hair! No wonder you had so much heartburn! So it also turned into a c-sect? Ag, it doesn't matter how he came out, he's here now and he's healthy and you're probably glowing with pride. I'm so happy that it went well. Enjoy him.

Anyway, I'm still pregnant. 39 weeks and 5 flippen days. I am destined to have the longest pregnancy ever! My mom went 10 days over. Both my sister in laws went up to 2 weeks over with their respective kids. What is it with Haworth/van Huyssteen uterusses that are just so comfortable? For Pete sakes man!

I'm saying all of this with my tongue in cheek though. I've had a fantastic pregnancy and I don't really wish it to be over. But I can't lie - I can't wait to hold Alex in my arms. I'm still not nervous about giving birth at all. I'm actually preparing myself for a c-sect seeing as every single one of the ladies (ok, not sure about Gaynor) has had one - either by choice or circumstance. But I'm not bothered anymore, as long as Alex is healthy, I'll be stoked.

Anyway, all the mommies, I'm loving your updates and tips. I'm making mental notes. Have decided to go straight to the breastfeeding sister at the clinic down the road when we are able to leave the hospital if I'm not comfortable with breastfeeding. I've tested and charged my breastpump in case I sit with the same problem as Lucy. And I've briefed DH on what formula to get if that all fails to top up whilst we get it right.

Wow- congrats to all those ladies that have had their babies!!!!!!!!!!

I had my 36 week appointment yesterday. My LG weighs 2.9kg's and is in perfect position for natural. I had an internal (rather uncomfortable) to check cervix, dr says that it is soft (favourable) and that he could get the tip of a finger in. Today I have alot of pain in my lower abdomin, think it is from the internal??? He says that she could come anyday so must just be prepared and rest. So we have definitly cancelled the elective c-sec for 21st July and will let her come when she is ready.

Missy - My EDD was 15th June, but all my new sonars now pick up EDD 7th July, so I am also in between. But, I think before end of June.

Skyler - Hang in there, it does get much easier. Hope you are having fun with baby. Sometimes, they do just have off days. No worries.

Well, I was at the dr's appointment yesterday and they could not hear a heart beat, so they put me on a machine the keeps track of the heart, I forgot the name. I was on that for an hour and the heart was very loud and strong. However, there is protein in my urine and a trace of blood, what does that mean?
They told me to drink a lot of water for the protein in the urine. Otherwise everything else is fine. I go back again next Thursday.
The baby is not moving much. I think that it is quite big that's why. Is this normal about the movements? Also baby is lying sideways, with head on y left hand side.

I am 38 weeks tomorrow,realy hope that in the next week I will go into labour. Havea few symptoms,menstrual pain on and off lots and lots of cm,baby dropped quite alot.
