So I'm booked in for a c-section on Monday at 09h00. Feckity-feck-feck-feck I'm SO NERVOUS!

Basically my cervix is firmly shut and long - not favourable. Alex's head hasn't dropped and there is only a 10% chance that he will drop if we wait another week. The only thing that will definitely happen is that he will get bigger. Dr also said because I haven't even started effacing or dilating, he does not recommend getting induced as it will take more than 24hrs to get fully dilated and does not guarentee a natural delivery, will more than likely end up in c-sect anyway.

He is pro-natural and I trust and believe him 100%. So that's that then, I'm going in on Monday. At first I was bricking it, I've never had an operation, but after speaking to my dad (also a gynea) who told me that he agrees 100% with the prognosis (bearing in mind our family history), I'm still nervous but excitement is slowly taking it's place!

Has anyone heard from Eloise yet?

Hi Juandre - So then, how can you be less anxious? I am really stressing now, as I am ging to a Government Hospital and they do not give any type of pain relief whatsoever.

Skyler - It does go by so very quickly. Have fun with your little man. I also can't believe it went so fast,you were on the forum and pregnant just a few weeks ago. Hope you are feeling great.

Simone- my EDD is 5th July. So I am in my 37th week. I was going to have an elective c-sec as I had to have one with my daughter 7 1/2 years ago (she was breech) and it was a good eperience but a few weeks ago (after antenatal classes) I changed my mind and am now going to try Natural. My gynae is quite positive that it will be successful. I am really excited about it, not scared at all.
Remember the more anxious you are, the more pain you will feel. WHen you are stressed your body goes into "fight or flight mode", the blood is then taken away from non vital organs (your uterus being one) to feed vital organs like your heart. This causes more pain. I am reading the Hypnobirthing book that Nefertiti sells and can tell you it really makes sense!!!

I was thinking the other day that in hospital i never watched tv once! all i did was stare at him, breast fed or slept lol... thought i would be nice and chilled read, i didnt!!! even had my baby sense book and didnt even go through it times goes by so quickly!

To all those still at work enjoy your last few days before maternity and enjoy yourself tonight Juandre, you never know when your LO might arrive! still cant believe mine came 2 weeks early!

Juandre - Hope you have a good day today. When is your baby due though, your EDD. My EDD was originally for 15th June, but it has changed to 7th July. Are you having a natural birth? I am so anxious.

We are also closing at 1pm today. We are going to watch the opening ceremony and game at The Barnyuard Theatre at Gateway, followed by a show. So it will be a very long day for me.

Besides the half day today I only have 2 days left at work!!!!!

After my internal on Wdnesday I thought I was going to go into labour yesterday, I was so uncomfortable- my tummy was rock hard all day and also sore. So stopped and saw my midwife, she says that babe will be here soon. Lets see what really happens!!!
