Newborn and baby advice

My friend and her hubby are running the hotel and 2 self-catering cottages there... Prices are reasonable and places are stunning!

i typed up a long reply - and its missing!!! will have to think what i wrote!

Oh, and I dress Kara in a short sleeved t-shirt and just her nappy or a short sleeved babygrow at night at the moment. W

When was a bit cooler I dressed her in a long sleeved babygrow as she also kicks all blankies off!

Claudia_B: I also vote poke her in the eye!! (and be sure to get a video and post it here please!!)

Claudia: She seems to want it her way or not at all. Thats just silly, why spite yourself. I agree, poke her in the eye.
Maybe give her a few days to think about what you have offered.

Desiree: Its all of a sudden gotten warm here. I put a vest and a long sleeved sleeper on him. And the cover with receiving blanket and one fleece blanket. Before I go to bed I check his cheeks and if they are hot I take off the fleece blanket. I just dont want to leave him with little clothing on as he kicks all his blankets off during the night.

Ok just saw Scribbling's reply. Will leave the fleece off completely...

Claudia_B, I'm with Desiree here, poke her in the eye. What a cow. Mind you, she is very heavily pregnant and in that heat is probably very uncomfortable and it hasn't been that long since we were all big and hot and uncomfortable so maybe she's just being a bit hormonal (and hot)? Someone once told me that when people react to something you do, their reaction is based on their issues, not yours. Probably paraphrased that all wrong but what i'm trying to say is that her reaction to you saying you don't want to take on more patients may have something to do with a deep-seated guilt for not staying at home more. Or something. Who knows.

Couldn't you build on an extra room for the practice and make it back once you're making oodles of cash? Or what about your folks' place or hiring a room at a medical centre or the hospital and still scheduling appointments at your own time?

Bronz, Emily's also just in a nappy and vest or else a very summery babygrow. Little sweaty munchkin couldn't take much more. At night she's in a light babygrow (no blanky).

Desiree I also want to see Connor in his swim gear. Karla was sooo cute in hers!

That baby tastes website looks amazing!! They're quite well-priced too. May just be taking advantage of it soon.

Bundle of Joy, as you can see from Desiree's post she's getting loads of use out of the book. I'm not sure what the difference between the books is, but all the recipes seem to be in my book too so who knows. I can't wait to start using it

The place in Paternoster was A la Mossel. It was nice. I was chatting to my friend last night and they went back last weekend and stayed at the place across the road from it, and she said it wasn't as nice, although it was closer to the sea. Check out www.stayinpaternoster.co.za and www.paternoster.org.za. I was so in love with Paternoster. Could go back tomorrow. So relaxing. Let me know what you decide on.

@Claudia - he he, ok, I will no longer complain about the Durban rain...lol - its so dry here in JHB too...its awful, we need it to and I know how happy I will be to get rain here... *sigh* - we're never satisfied hey? We will be staying at the Breakers resort in Umhlanga, and we'll probs visit the Umlodti beach alot, I like it there....nice & quiet & not a very mainstream beach.....well, not to me anyway, lol - im not your typical beach bunny....i just want some nice sand time for Connor ... we also want to take Connor to Ushaka Marine World, i want to put him infront of the Shark tank and take piccies, lol!! Do you work all the time, or can you take a break with James & meet for a lunch or a coffee next week?

Your colleague sounds VERY unreasonable...goodness me, are you not donig her a favour? I refer to my previous comment...I say you just poke her in the eye!! James is clearly your priority! and as for her telling you that you should just give James a bottle and learn to leave him with other people....well, now isn't she just Miss Sensitivity herself...honestly, tell her to go and get knotted!! she needs you way more than you need her....and you are willing to compromise a little by bringing James with you ....doesn't sound like she is willing to budge at all!!

@Bronz...and to think if you hadnt sent me that link I'd still be moomie-less - I maintain, I heart you!! lol About your clothes question....its been so hot here in JHB, and Connors room is very very hot, like 28 or something crazy....so I just let him sleep in his nappy & a cotton vest from woolies....nothing else, I dont even put blankies on him right away.....I go into his room at around 1 or 2 and put a blanky over him when the temp drops a bit.....what are you doing for Graeme?
