Karin – congrats on the birth of your baby girl. She is too precious and beautiful just like her mommy.
Kimika – Callum isn’t spitting that much (as yet!) but Kayla use to spit or should I say vomit nearly after each feed. Still remember how the milk went flying all over the room and the doctor wasn’t very worried about it. Megan used to also spit / drool so her clothes were always wet, so I think it’s normal as long as he doesn’t bring up all his food. Might be too much milk and / or wind. Colour of breastfed babies poo is mustard and loose and nearly each nappy will be a poo nappy. Not sure about the greenish colour?? TI took the stuff they gave me for milk (both the stuff I’ve given you the name for) and I still struggled for about a week to get enough milk expressed for Callum. While he was in hospital they had to give him formula as well as I couldn’t even get 20ml out at a time. I’m now drinking brewer’s yeast tablets and eat lots of oats and still take prolak (natural hormone that stimulate milk production). Still didn’t sort out all the medical aid things – they are not getting back to me! Will try again this week to call.
Ya we should just rename the thread, but you don’t have to name it Jan – April babies (I’m sure there will be some May babies as well), maybe something like babies that were due March / April he he. Argh I must count back 8 weeks anyways when I want to work out Callum’s milestones. So he will most probably only smile close to 14 weeks and he would have been about 6 weeks then is he arrived on his due date!
Meags – shame hun – can’t imagine the pain you are going through. Your tummy is nice and BIG.
Hi Tazzy – yip it’s hard keeping up with the girls on Moomie once the babies’ are here he he. Glad you are doing well.
Cath – the bleeding of the belly button is normal – just keep cleaning it. And hmm how old is that baby. 10 min is very quick. Newborns feed much longer and ya later you don’t need to change nappies. Re my cut - I don’t have pain anymore (thank goodness!). I think just go to a GP and not that horrible receptionist.
He he he Lucy – I’m sure Tessa is a Tessa! BUT they told my sister 7 times her boy is a girl!
Lucy – seriously re the stuff for your milk??!! I think that’s what they prescribed for me, I just got the generic!? OK I’m shocked!! Sore breast is fine now thx – just my nipples that got a bit sore now, but nothing a bit of lotion can’t fix.
MistyMom – love your pic – too gorgeous. He he on lying to DH re UIF, but ya better start getting it together and go to the offices late – after 3 then there’s no que – I’m going back tomorrow.
Sjoe I’m tired. Callum is spoiled!! He will sleep perfectly fine in his cot during the day, but night time, as soon as I put him down, he will wake up!! And then I put him in bed with me and he will then sleep!! Eish, and I’m struggling to sleep with him in the bed. Last night was also rough – we went to my sister – 2 hours there and 2 hours back and Callum obviously didn’t like it. He was awake from 6/7 till nearly 12 last night and very unhappy. Hoping for a better night. Oh and today Megan was gonna start swimming lessons (she loved the assessment last week) but then when it was time to go, she threw a huge tantrum and refused to go!!
Posted this over the weekend but here goes again - Cloth nappy users - check out this website -
www.babybumz.co.za and have a look at the kushie nappy - seems very nice. I'm going to get one and see how it works - first time I see a cloth nappy that I really like.
Schatsie - glad all is well with your baby. Yip, Callum was 2.1kg at 32 weeks and they say you take the weight at 32 weeks and double that and that's the weight your baby will be by 40 weeks, so yip your babba is big
Take care all - love to all - chat soon - tomorrow I'm off to UIF again - wish me luck!
