Hi everyone. My name is ameera. I dunno if anyone would remember me from last year. I use to chat a lot on pampers. I had a baby boy last january and he passed away at five days from merconium aspiration. There are many ladies names who are familiar. I'm pregnant and due on the 18 of april so I decided to join again. I thought I'd introduce myself and start chatting to other mommies again. I'm new so I'm not too familiar with the site. Kimika - a friend of mine gave birth to a little girl the same weekend as you - her bill without gynae and epidural is R 19 800 (emergency c-section) - scary stuff. I am a planned c-section so will keep a log for you to compare Swimming lessons are important but it maybe can wait until Sept/Oct like you said. How is doggie after the scary fight?

Meags - sorry about the H. shame hunny you have been through way too much. I am sure you will lose the weight chop chop and show your step mother for sure - wow people are very opinionated.

Schatsie.. ooo my another big baba with cutiepie cheeks on his way Fantastic that all is going so great!! The wonderful thing about big babas are that the mommies know for sure they are doing well in the womb and getting enough foodies Ill change your date on our list! xxx

Joli, thanks re the spitting I really hope you get all your stuff sorted out soon.. such a pain in the ()*() hehe.. I got paid my last bit of money's from the MA this morning so we are all sorted out. Thank goodness... phew!

Im sure he smells you in your bed and thats why he sleeps better there? But its hard to sleep with a newborn in the bed every night... talk about back spasms!! We have one of those co-sleeper thingies that we put in the middle of our bed where Reuben sleeps in. During the day he sleeps in the cot. So me and hubby only touches toes in bed now

My dad offered to take Pietertjie for swimming lessons but I just said no way. Im sure he is going to put on a huge scene and then Ill be the one ending up next to the pool suffering his crying at each lesson! Ill rather take him next summer.. its almost winter now anyway. Why dont you just wait until mabye September or October?

Cath, thanks also re the spitting. Nope its not really vomit.. more like a milk just coming out, sometimes a bit and sometimes a lot... put its not projectile LOL Oh yes the sleep when baby sleep thing is not always possible! Hope Will gave you some sleeptime last night Oh and I also wanted to say a bit of bleeding/crustyness is normal for the bellybutton.. as long as its not fresh blood, yellowy, red or smelly

Meags, ag bleh to your stepmonster! Oh I cant wait for your visit!!!! We can cuddle each other's babas!!! I didnt know you cant take anti-inflamatories while preggie.. what about a icepack?

Karin, your little girl is tooo much cuteness for me!!!!! I can just kissy kissy kissy.. how sweet. Lucky you What are your other kiddies doing with her? Are they protective? Have fun!


So in total my birth worked out at:

Hospital fees: R14500
Gynae fee: R5300
Epidural: R2800 (but got discounted to R2200)
Total for vaginal birth with epi: R22600

The girl that does my gynae's accounts commented the other day that normal birth works out more than a planned c-sec? So it will be nice to hear what the planned c-secs work out.

Ok so Driekie is next on our list but she has been MIA for quite some time now. So Emsmom youre next Hey but that is a loooong wait for another baba.. someone needs to have a baby next week!!!!

Schatsie- so pleased that your scan went well. And wow a big baby, you won't be needing too many new born outfits and number 1 size napppies then lol. You must be so pleased that c- section is going to be 2 days earlier, only 2 days- but thats like an eternity to a pregnant lady!

Kimika- M used to vomit up - projectile vomit just about everything. The paed and clinic sister were not worried until he slowed down on the weight gain. Then I was advised to top up on the breast feeding with an anti reflux formula, I used novolac. He also prescribed a pill- I think it was called losec - which I crushed up and gave him. He did mention gaviscon for babies, but said that it was not available at the time.

Joli- how did the Uif trip go? Hoping you got everything sorted and that it is your last trip.

Meags - are you feeling better today?

Hi girls
Just a quick update - I'm doing very well, c section a bit sore but not too bad. Kiana is sooo beautiful!!! I'm so in love with my angel and sooo very grateful and thankful to God for making her normal and perfect, cause that's what she is.
No down sydrome ... Thank u lord.

Very hungry!! Not allowed to eat until b/fast only had two little mini scones this morning before 8h00, sjoe stomach growling LOL
