Morning preggy fairies

. Hope you are all doing well. I'm missing my preggy belly

. But at least my boy is safe and doing well. Shame some of the babies in NICU is struggling and it's hard for the moms. The sisters there are really nice (except for one!) so I really can't complain and at least I still get a full night's sleep!
My scar is much better now and not painful anymore. C-section ladies, if it's your first baby. Remember to ask for the catheter to be put in after the spinal! They can and should do this. Remember to wax or shave - they WILL dry shave you if you didn't do this! Luckily I had time to go for a quick shower before I went to theatre and I tried to shave as much as I could (DH bought a horrible razor from the chemist!) so when it was time for the nurse to shave me she didn't have to do much and she used the exact same razor DH bought just like that. And I've heard that it's sore when they remove the catheter, but it wasn't for me. I practised my hypno breathing when they did that and I didn't feel a thing. I also did my hypno birth breathing when I had contractions, and even though the machines 'said' I've got 'strong' contractions, for me it just well like tightening of the stomach. The only pain I couldn't control with HB breathing was the pain after the birth. I'm petrified of needles, but when I went for my spinal, I just breath and closed my eyes and really it was not sore. But warn your DH, those first couple of nights home, you will be in pain and it will be sore to get on and off the bed and therefore hard to look after baby. Your DH need to help you with baby. And ask for painkillers if you need it.
Well Callum is doing really well. He must now drink all his feeds out of a bottle, so no more tube. Hopefully will be home sooner than later. I'm thinking of getting an angel care monitor. Never had one with my girls, but I'm petrified he might stop breathing because he was prem! Shame he really is cute. I can't believe I've got a boy with dark hair
Mistymom - luckily we are in another hospital - we are in Parklane, not Milpark. Sjoe I wouldn't cope with that too.
Hmmm I can relate to waiting at private hospitals. When Megan was 5 weeks old, we went to ER as I got mastitis (it's really sore and you can't lift your arm and you get cold and hot fevers), we waited for over 2 hours and then they admitted me! But when I was in labour, I didn't wait he he. They didn't even give me a chance to get my car keys and stuff from the cops! They wheeled me straight up to labour ward. LOL the whole ride and arrival at hospital was like something out of movie!
LOL Newyum - people do say strange things all the time. I just used to smile and say nothing. Also used to hate it when they say you will have a girl / boy depending on how you carry - as if the baby knows how to position him / herseld cause he / she is a girl / boy!
Karin - in my case - I went into theatre so quick and DH wasn't there, so I couldn't talk to him, so by the time I saw him again in theatre, it was too late for us to tie my tubes as we had to sign the papers outside theatre! Now everyone carries on - did you tie your tubes?? And when I say no, they all say: so now DH MUST go!! I get annoyed. Yes, I do have 3 kids now and yes Baby B aka Callum was unplanned a big surprise but jinne man, just keep quiet. It's not like I ask anyone for anythhing!
I'm thinking of your SIL. Give her a big hug from me. I know how she must feel. Shame she's probably gonna cry a couple of times. When you had this whole birth planned and things does not go according to plan, you are heartsore. I felt that my body has failed me and that I've failed Callum. Not a nice feeling!
MistyMom - BH will become more and more towards the end of your pregnancy, but when we were on holiday, mine started to become really intense. With my girls I could still just carry on doing what I was doing, but with Callum I had to stop and wait for the BH to pass.
Shame Meags! You must tell him YES, YOU HAVE TO!! And even if you carry to 40 weeks, how you gonna manage to run around trying to buy stuff with you huge belly??!!! Men!
Kimika - I keep forgetting to mail you, so never got biscuits for my b/day, but I want some heart shaped biscuits for Valentines. I want a box full in a nice box with a ribbon or something for the NICU staff. Let me know how much and whether you are coming through to JHB at some stage before that. You can even make those biscuits you made for the meeting with just a red heart intead of the white icing stuff? Let me know.
OK, let me go. The girls are awake. Toodles.
