Morning all!

Sheez, trying to catch up with your weekend chatting! :)

Meags - Sorry that your scan didn't go so well, your little man is a bit shy probably, or just want his mommy and daddy to be a bit patient, lol.
Stupid about the Zodiac dates! I'm a Sagitarius... now all of a sudden there is this unpronouncable sign thats supposed to mine now...  Not liking it at all.

EmsMom - Thats horrible being so sick... glad you are feeling better and hope that it will stay away now. Sad to see your kids go to school, but also exciting and a proud moment... enjoy and good luck with this first day.

Mistymom - WOW! You lucky girl!! Enjoy the shopping you're going to be doing with that lovely gift. :cheer:

Joli - Respect girl! And I will definitely be buying that months magazine to be seeing and reading it all! Please let us know when they will be publishing okay!

Kaylae - Sorry about the headaches and body aches! Maybe your body is trying to tell you to slow down a bit and rest some more. Don't feel bad about having girls! They are the future remember, without little girls there will be no woman to have more babies and bless our world with a future. :)
Lucky you for not having much hair "down under", it's hard work keeping it neat and clean if you have lots like I do. Haha.

AFM: Went for my scan Friday afternoon. All went well, Kiana is lying head down still and dr. says she will not be turning anymore anyways. She was lying with her back to my back, looking upwards and forward with the little legs spread open one under each boob... No wonder my tummy makes all these funny looking knobs and bumps, must be her knees.
She's weighing in at about 1.8/1.9kg. Dr. is happy with all, he only wants to see me again in 4 weeks time at 36 weeks. So next appointment is 11 February @ 15h15.
My c-section date is 7 March .... dr. is pushing it a bit close I think as my due date is 11 March. So we'll see if she is happy to stay in that long - will be about 39w3d then.

Kaylae, I get so upset with people making comments about not wanting another girl. I actually see red when certain people in my family say they hope for my inlaws sake its a boy - because to me that means that Em is worth nothing to them because she is a girl. Its such an outdated idea, and makes me wish I'm having another girl just to piss people off. The reason for having a child is not for having a boy or girl its to have a child. Healthy body and mind is all I could ever ever ask for. So do not feel like a loser - I can point you to 100 people that would KILL to be having your little girl.
Even DH gets really upset with the question, esp since he would LOVE another girl and people are always so shocked when they hear that.
Oh and the sex of the child has nothing to do with the mom, its all up to the male... something people love to forget...

Joli, I'm in the same boat as you - have got next to nothing prepped for baby, and I'm honestly not that worried. I've got a bit of clothing - sure I'll get more at the shower and some nappies - other than those what else does the baby really need? And worst case I'll send the grandparents shopping once baby is here and I discover I need things :)

Kaylae - pls don't let people's comments bother you. It's so lovely to have a sister! You are giving your daughter a great gift! My girls are very close and I can't imagine life without my sisters! And when people keep commenting on this baby asking - BUT WHAT IF IT'S ANOTHER GIRL! Then I tell them - THEN WHAT??? Then it's another girl and so be it. Then I've got 3 gorgeous daughters, 3 weddings to arrange, 3 daughters to be with and support when they have their own kids etc. etc.

On the birth photography - I'm sure if we land up having a c-section, they photographer will follow. I'm not going to book a planned c-section even if gynae is not convinved re natural. I'm gonna try for natural and then if we land up having a c-section, so be it. Genesis do not take planned c-section bookings anyways. I had to get clearance from Genesis for the photographer and the pics to be published which is all sorted, but once a c-section, it's up to the gynae to decided whether he is OK with the photographer being there or not. I will discuss with him when I see him at 36 weeks. Midwife is also OK with it all. Hmmm the make-up - hubby just laughed at me and said I should try it before the time. But argh, I'm not to worried about it. You can't really look like a model whilst giving birth anyways. Maybe they will photoshop my pimples and bad skin out anyways and I don't think they will publish 'bad' pics anyways. It helps that I know the photographer - she's really sweet, she's got kids of her own and I know she will be working in the back ground - once in labour you really don't take not of who's in the room anyways.

Kimika - I was thinking. I want to make little thank you gifts for the guest and the nurses and so on. Nice little cupcakes with a message from Baby B - I will mail you if you are up to making them for me.

Good Morning preggy fairies. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. The JHB Moomie mtg was really nice, just a pity so little people pitched, but was nice to see Meags, Kimika, Lize, Kiara again and to meet the other ladies. And I'm very chuffed with my my prize I won - thx Jessica :) :)! Seeing that Meags took ALL the biscuits, I never got any!! Just joking Meags, I forgot to take some, so will have to get next time.

EmsMom - for the Cape town people yip, but I think all the JHB people were back at work on 3 Jan already he he. I also want to get some of those balls. Will order from you. Good luck with Em starting school - is she going to Grade 0? Or Grade 00?? Enjoy your scan. Sorry to hear that you got sick. Not nice at all.

Kimika my hands did swell up a lot with Megan. I think from about 3 / 4 months I couldn't wear my wedding ring anymore. With this baby I'm really lucky. No swelling or anything as yet.

Shame MistyMom - when I had my 1st baby I was convinved that I was gonna die, but then with the 2nd one you know you won't, but you are still sh** scared! I remember when giving birth to Kayla and I look up and I saw all the midwife's stuff there, i.e. scissors etc etc. This time I'm gonna ask them to put it where I can't see it!

AFM - I got quite a shock on Saturday when I realized that I've only got 6 - 8 weeks left before Baby B's arrival! I didn't prepare anything as yet. Still need to put the cot up, still need clothes - I've got about 4 sets of newborn clothes, 2 pairs of socks and 2 vests! Still need to ready the HB book and still need to get K and M gifts from the baby and vice versa! Still need to get all the stuff I need for the birth. I'm thinking of getting unscented candles cause the candles make me nauseous last time. And I need pajamas and all that as well. So ya, a lot to do in the next few weeks. Scan went well on Saturday an midwife is happy with everything. Baby is very active and there's lots of water so we couldn't get nice pics. Weighting 2.237kg and head is down. Maryka said he / she will pick up between 150 - 200g per week, so I really hope baby is not growing too big! Seeing the gynae mid Feb and will hear what he has got to say. I'm more worried about the head measurements than the weight, but I'm petrified of tearing!

The star sign story is just scary!

The girls going for brazilians - you really are brave - I don't think I will manage that!

Hmmm another question for those going natural - are you going the enema route or not???????????

Morning ladies;

As usual trying to catch up is a nightmare but will try.

Tazzy_Hope gynae will clear things up for you.

Joli-OMW,you have courage, atleast your birth story will inspire most readers. Can't wait to see the pics, also seen the c-sec on the thread of birth stories and it gave me the goosebumbs,i was terrified just didn't expect to see that. on the waterproof make-up indeed you sweat it off.

MistyMom-You are so lucky to receive that kinda money, enjoy shopping for your baby. With my 1st LG I didn't do the hospital tour as I was scared of such things and now I am birthing at the same hospital so no hassles for me.Sorry that you were patrified and DH's story telling didn't do you any good. But Meags is right, there are less deaths than before plus they check your health and know which birth option will be suitable so do not worry.

Emsmom-Hope you enjoyed your massage.Hope you are feeling a whole better today,do enjoy your scan.

Betty-I think babies sense if their space are being invaded and hide but as long as the baby is fine.

Meags-I so think that these machines are just estimates and do not give you the accurate thing but glad that Matt is now weighing good. You won't believe my EDD changes every now and again so yaah and I was told that Tshami have taller feet whilst DH and I are short.I am so glad that I do not follow star signs as now mine have changed to Capricon and I used to be an Aquarian.

AFM-My body is feeling numb today.Had a split headache yesterday that I slept without eating,my mom told me not to drink Panados cause I am always drinking them when I have headaches and must opt for water which I did and walla moms are always right :) .Silly of me my friend gave birth to a baby boy and I am so jealous and feel like a loser as I am getting another girl.In 2008 we both gave birth to girls and 2011 it will be different genders and people's comments are not making it easier for me as well.I love my LG and thank God for her as she is healthy and only God knows why He is blessing me with only girls.I had a super suturday,my dad came and we had a lovely time I so love him.I know it's weird but I do not grow much hair on my pubic so when I shave it takes about 6 months still very clean, its a family thing so me and waxing are not friends

Morning ladies!
Well its back to work and school for a lot of people today.

Kimika the balls are around R250. At first it is a little strange, but I really credit my back to normal in 3 days tummy to them after having Em. Also good if you are having natural to get back in shape down there.
I wouldn't worry too much about the hand swelling, if you are walking around lots, your hands are hanging downwards - go they do then to swell a little.

Betty, hope all went smoothy getting your LO back to school today :) and at least you'll be back on leave soon, so not too bad to be back at work.

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

Got our scan today, so looking forward. Baby was so lazy yesterday, was super active on Sat, and then yesterday gave like 1 move an hour, until around 2am when he woke up... but I dont really mind. :)

Hi ladies

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Went for a checkup and a 4D. Scan last week and like you Meags, baba was all hands in front of her face. The pics were bad, but at least we know that everything is fine. I also had major differences in the weight. With the scan my gynae advised that she weighs about 800g, but the 4D scan , the very next day, showed that she weighs 680g. Crazy.... Also the 4D lady advised that I will probably gave another c section delivery, 1st baby got stuck, although I have been told my whole life that I have child bearing hips lol.

Misty I too am giving birth at medi clinic, also had Matthew there. The professional staff were wonderful. I was extremely disappointed in the attitude and care given by the supporting staff. I gave birth on the weekend and noticed an improvement in the week when the permanent staff arrived. Aah well let's hope I give birth in the week. My gynae only works at milnerton and I don't wish to change. Are you doing the antenatal classes that the hospital provides?

I am also getting M ready to start play school tomorrow and spent last night ironing on labels to his clothes. Aah the joys. Back to work tomorrow after 4 weeks of leave. So not looking forward to it.....

Mom to Matthew, born 8 March 2008
baby girl due 29 April 2011
