Hi girls!

Missesmom, I also want to see some pics of the party, it sounds fabulous, and glad all went smoothly :)

Schatsie, I didnt want to fall preggie again as I couldnt even imagine how I would be able to love another baby as much as my first one! And I also didnt want to share my time between two babas. Everyone kept telling me that when the new baby is there you will love him just as much, and its really true!! Now I cant even for a second imagine how it was with just one little boy in my life, and I love Reuben every bit as much as I love his brother :)

Ill come pop in later again, R is gatvol of sitting in his chair .. wants some attention now :) toodles!

Do any of your LO's 'chew'? Megan chews her hands and her blankies etc. but I'm talking about 'chewing' when there is nothing in her mouth. She even makes chew noises (like someone that chews with their mouths open) What could be the reason for it?

thanks libra! I am not going to take him then! :) Megan sounds too adorable! So glad you so happy too!! And the nice thing about little/interrupted sleep is that you appreciate it so much MORE when you do get it back! :)

Cath, I don't think you need to go to the paed unless there is something you are worried about. I think it's more important for prem/underdeveloped/sickly/reflux babies to go. Your baby sounds healthy and cute, so I doubt it would be necessary.

I was also telling my husband the other night that I am surprised how easy this has been (having a baby). I also heard or the horror stories and was quite scared. I also loooooove my sleep, so I was really worried about how I would cope with little of it, and I must say I have adjusted quite well. I still have a bit of porridge brains due to the lack of sleep, but it's going well. I think some parents just have difficult babies, babies that don't sleep well, that are colic or have reflux and some babies are sickly. But then I also think some parents just don't see the positive in the situation, or they don't have the patients with babies. They harp more about the bad days then the good. We all have our bad days, but if you focus on them then you don't enjoy the joys of being a parent. I have had the moments where I wondered whether I made a mistake having a baby....but they have been few and far between. Megan is just such a joy in my life that I look over the bad things...

Schatise, thanks for the paed advice! :) I just had to chime in re what you said about horror stories - I am also clsoe to 40 (!) 38 to be exact and except for on here I did not hear ONE positive experience or story! NOT ONE!!!!!!! I mean it was unbelievable how terribly the experience was painted! And what happened in reality - easy peasy! William sleeping through and an utter delight and addition to our lives and family! I CANNOT imagine ourlives without him and his utterly adorable and sweet little self! BEST THING EVER!! :)
Our little one is only still getting used to being outside and in the fresh air LOL and Arno is already at his second party!! :)

Good morning to all the lovely Moomie ladies

Mistymom, are you the only mom who went back to work today? Good luck for your first day and week back! Betty I think you're going to be the last of us to go back. You're only going back in Sept if I remember correctly?

Missesmom I spoke to Julz yesterday and she said Em's party was LOVELY! Do you have any pics? What was the theme?

Julz hosted a party for our mutual friend's little boy's first birthday yesterday. It was all Winnie the Pooh and SO cute! This was Arno's 2nd birthday party already and he is only 3.5 months old!

I'm totally with Missesmom and Cathm on being soooo in love with my LO!!! He really is the best thing that ever happened to me!! I still can't stop staring at him and hugging and kissing him and he just gets cuter by the day - especially now with all the talking and laughing! He is WAY cuter now than when he was born and couldn't yet interact with us! However, I'm still not sure whether I would have a second one - I just can not imagine loving another baby as much as I love this one and that would just not be fair on the 2nd child... Does anyone else feel this way?

I was speaking to one of my colleagues the other day and we were saying that having a baby is really not as hard as we thought it would be. Everyone tells you all kinds of horror stories about how hard having a baby is, so you end up being so scared of it, but it really is just great! Maybe it is because we are older (close to 40) that we are just so ready for it? (We both also battled for quite some time with infertility so maybe that made us appreciate it more when it finally happened.)

Cathm, my paed didn't tell us to come back for a 6 month check up when we were there for the 6 week one. So I guess his idea is to just bring him in when he is actually ill? Makes sense to me... Besides he has been going to the clinic for his vaccinations and has to go again soon and they weigh and check him, so they would tell us if there is anything wrong with him and advise us to see the paed.

Hope you all have a lovely week at work and/or home!

Betty, I would LOVE to do an icing making class - where do you go? Always wanted to do one, but never really seem to get around to actually doing it... sigh.
Well done on S weight, clearly she is doing very well.

Cath, I never took Em for a 6 month check and Kate hasn't been back to the pead since she was discharged from hospital. I am a firm believer that I only take my kids when sick. Otherwise your clinic sister will tell you the exact same thing that the pead would.
I'm glad the trip went so well!

We've got ours next week-end! Looking forward to it!
