I'm just popping in to say hi

I've been one of those silent thread readers again.
Meags - so nice to hear that Matt is a different baby (well except for these last few day) have you had his ears checked for any infections?
I took Amelia to GP on tuesday to have her checked out before I started sleep training. He said she is a healthy little girl and should be sleeping better by now. Last week she was still waking up every 3hrs during the night (9,12 and 3) I just decided I really need some sleep.
He also explained to me that its very important for her to have enough sleep in a 24hr period. She is a very poor sleeper, day and night. She very rarely sleeps longer than 45min at a time.
SO (don't throw stones either) he prescribed some Vallergan Forte for her. I went and got it from the pharmacy but haven't used it yet. I thought I'd phone a good friend who is an anaethetist. She advised me not to use it unless I'm extremely desperate. So I've started with sleep treining and I seem to have made a little bit of progress. I cuddle and shoosh her until she is drowsy but awake. Then I put her in her cot and walk out. At first she was hysterical, now it just takes one or two times of going back in and placing her back on her side with her dummy back in her mouth and she'll drift off to sleep by herself.
As for the night feeds. She will without a doubt wake up at around 10ish. I refuse to feed her then. I pick her up, rock her until she's drowsy and put her back in her cot. She will sleep til about midnight. Then I feed her at midnight and she sleeps until 3 until another feed.
So baby steps but we're getting there.
So after I thought she'd finally enjoyed the taste of lactogen she now refuses to have a bottle anywhere near her mouth. I don't really mind as long as she breastfeeds properly after bathtime and no snacks during the night
I've also started her on some butternut and sweet potato. She loves it!! Even more than her cereal.
