Emsmom - The spa sounds fab, very glad the swelling has gone down.

Kimika - glad you managed a few things at the expo, sorry you didn't get more :(

Joli - How exciting to have your shower and then a spa too. MMMmm got to talk to DH!! People can be very frustrating sometimes. Well if they don't want to follow your guidelines then they will miss out.

Meags - Enjoy Durbs, it is a bit rainy and miserable today but tomorrow and wed are supposed to be gorgeous!

Anje - Well done on all the the shopping. I'm glad you got breast pads. I looked up those ones Vix had website for, although only R50 the postage was R75 so I thought I may as well just but normally. Which brand did you get? How much? Getting a pram is so exciting!

Misty - Sorry there was no news this weekend! I was sooooo tired to post :(

Schatsie - Hey Mrs!! How was your special day? Are you on honeymoon?

Cath - Wow William must have a huge mouth!! How cute. Sorry about the placenta. You do still have a bit of time. If it does have to be a C/S then I am sure you will make it the best experience you can. Many ladies to have very good experiences and are up and about the next day. Fx for you as I know you wanted natural.

The bra issue (again) - I have found a UK website that posts to SA for 1 pound. I have ordered and as soon as it arrives I will let you know that all is above board. But they have loads of brands and styles etc. From 19 pounds to about 30 pounds. If you would like to look at the website it is www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk

Another question - I have pain on the right hand side of my belly button. It is exactly where I had my ovidrel shot. Do you think it could be some after effects of this or is it part of pregnancy. It is really sore and often I can't even touch my belly button as it is too sore.

Lovely week to all, and a big hey to all I haven't mentioned, will do soon!

Hi Ladies
Wow lots of news! Glad the expo was fun! We have bought absolutely nothing except some clothes! Will probably think more about it next year or delegate to someone like one of the granny's LOL! :) We are still renting til June when we'll probably buy so will do Will's room then, but I'd say for the first 3 months he'll be in our room anyway! Ooh! We are SO EXCITED!!!

Kimika you are super organised! :)

Emsmom I also had a bit of a spa treat at Villa D'Este yesterday my dh had the full body and I had the preggy massage (blissful! my back had been SOOOO SORE!!) and indian head massage. Felt like a new person afterwards!

Re the scan on Sat morning - was lovely to see William although he didn't look that different LOL it had only been 3 weeks! :) Will post pics tomorrow as they're at home. Suffice to say he's looking good, sucking his thumb and even trying to put his little hand (his WHOLE hand) into his mouth! Shame! Gosh we are so excited, but trying to keep it in the day!!!

The placenta is still partially covering the cervix BLAH :( Apparerntly I have til 30 weeks for gynae makes a decision, so we'll see. Just would like to know NOW but of course that's not possible! I have reconciled self to the fact that if it is a caesar then so be it. There are positives in that - the certainty, shorter pregnancy in the heat LOL, etc My main concnern has always been that I wanted natural not for any purist reasons other than being able to spring back into action and normality straight after birth which I heard you can do after natural but not after caesar.

But have prayed for acceptance and will go with (obviously) whatever is suggested and do so with a willing and happy heart! Of course my dh thinks the c-section is a great idea due to convenience and certainty and he feels won't be as painful for me as natural etc etc so as long as WIll is healthy and I can be patient with uncertainty (hate that!!!) then everything is as it should be.

Quick question - if you HAVE to have a caesar does Genesis still do it? Or not? I heard not but then met a girl over wkend who had an emergency caesar at Genesis...maybe they only do it if emergency but if planned caesar you must go to hospital? I have asked them this am but interested if anyone else knows?

Have a gorgeous day preggy fairies!

Cath

Morning Ladies. Hope you all had an awesome weekend. I'm feeling so huge all of a sudden and I'm struggling to shave (mmm down there you know!). Hope hubby gets home one night early so he can help!

My weekend was nice and busy. Did a newborn shoot for an old client of mine on Saturday - gosh I felt so sorry for her, she was admitted like a week before they did c-section as her placenta was very low and they then waited for her to be 38 weeks to do c-section and then when they cut her, they realized that they can't get the baby out as the baby was lying across her tummy (which they knew in the first place!!) and they then cut vertical as well, so she's got the t-cut on her tummy. And I'm not sure what they did to the baby, but her lower back and bum is covered in one big purple / blue bruise - shame man - it's aweful. And the mom is still looking so good!

Then on Sunday morning I got a call from a client wanting directions to my studio as they had a shoot booked for 09h30, but I had my shoot with Living & Loving booked. It then turned out that my client mailed me before, but she then never paid the deposit so I never mailed her confirmation for her shoot and on my booking form it's clearly written that your booking is only confirmed once I've received your deposit and you've received a confirmation mail from me with further details! Oh and then the make-up artist never pitched for my shoot I had with Living & Loving, so I had to do my own make-up.

Schatsie - how was the wedding? Can't wait to see some pics.

Kimika - I work very close to Centurion - going to go there in my lunch hour during the week. I don't struggle with my feet, but my back is taking strain. It's gets really bad.

I only bought Megan's xmas pressies, but still nothing for Kayla. I really don't know what to buy her. She's never been one for toys, so it's really hard. Megan is now playing with all Kayla's toys she never played with.

Vix - if you read this - yip it's best to just see once the tweenies are here how they are doing etc. before deciding on a newborn shoot. Newborn shoots can (with a bit of extra patience) be done up to 6 weeks and if they are prem, even 7 / 8 weeks, but I agree, let's just see how it goes. Would love to do a twin shoot :-).

The ladies on this thread who will book maternity shoots with me, just mail me in January and we can take it from there. Will give you girls discounts off course. Can also do end December for those carrying big.

I've got my babyshower this coming Saturday! 4 December 2010 - YAYNESS!!!!!! And Saturday, the 11th I'm spending the day at a Spa - gift from hubby :-)

Hi ladies!!

Emsmom, ahh what a nice ladies day you had with those treatments :)

Meags, I think those classes can become quite scary for the new dad2be's :) hehe.. Ah man.. how about a wakeup call there for your hubby and brother!! They are sooo not aware of how much a little newborn baby can rule your days and nights :) Your hubby has no idea whats gonna hit him!

Im with you on the eina body today.. we had hubby's year end function too yesterday and I was running after a toddler and dirty plates the whole day too. The worst was my feet.. I think they cant handle the extra weight ;)

Cant wait to get some news on Schatsie's wedding day and also some pics from Cath.

So the expo was good. I really am a little dissapointed with my shopping though.. Hubby was all good to go, budget was ready but the exhibitors I wanted to buy stuff from just wasnt there :( Hubby almost bought a new pram but we chickened out at the last minute... I told him that if we still want to buy a new one Ill find us a special some other time.

I bought a Carriwel feeding bra, that seemless one that doesnt come up so high and it was R210 instead of the normal R280. And I got a Pigeon bottle free :) I wanted to buy the starter pack for R199 and then totally forgot! Thats really all.. and some toys for my little big boy. The lady with the breastfeeding covers I wanted to buy from wasnt there so Ill order through post from her. Also there was no nice nappy bags :( There was one for R2200 but ja.. enough said about that! Oh and I found a really pretty pink breastfeeding bra for R125 but they were sold out on my size so Ill go to the Greenstone Baby Boom as they sell from there too.

And no show discount for the bed I want to order for my son so I might as well place that order now. Then I can go buy the duvet inners, pillows & sheets and stuff this week. And I need to get moving on those animals!!

Oh girls I wanted to say , especially for those expecting boys.. Edgars (I was at one in Centurion) has some really nice boy babygrows in stock now. Nothing much more than that but I love babygrows so Im going to buy some more this week too. I bought 2 for my oldest little guy.. hehe.. size 12months to 18months.. they are huge!! We laughed sooo much in the shop at the sight of them :) They are way to big for him and will only fit at winter time, so Im going to buy some for little bro too so they have matching babygrow pjs' :)

And I bought some nice tops at Edgars too.. part of their normal ranges but they have so much stuff that will fit a preggy belly and its not too expensive! So then for those who still want to go buy maternity clothes go have a lookie there.. you can always spend a little more on pants and buy them from woolies etc. The tops you can then wear after baby is born too as its not those bulky frumpy maternity tops.

xxx

Hi ladies

Congrats to Schatsie!!!!!!!!! CANT WAIT to hear all about it and see the photos!!!! weddings are so beautiful

the antenatal classes were ok. I found them quite boring...but DH said he learnt some things and I think he is becoming a bit nervous about the labour and birth!!

The farewell party was also ok. DH got wasted as expected. Should be one of the last parties before baby is here so hope he realises that!
My brother can sometimes not be the best 'support' person. He is coming to Miami in March (around due date) and him and DH were talking about it. so DH suggests that all of us go to Vegas together and leave our NEWBORN baby with my mom and go away for the weekend!!!!!! I was (a) pissed off with DH for even SUGGESTING something so stupid and (b) pissed off with my brother as when I said absolutely not, he got annoyed and said "well why not make use of mom while she is there. When am I ever going to come to Miami again?"
sorry but that is not my problem and no one asked him to come around my due date.

so I'm feeling a bit down (again). I just feel like DH is constantly looking for ways to still party once baby is here etc, but has not ONCE mentioned looking forward to having his baby, holding him or anything. He is not even taking his paternity leave when baby is born.
I will definitely speak to him about it later although I'm sure he will just say he was drunk.

house is on show today so we going to go sit at my brother's place until 5pm. Only went to sleep at 2am and the whole party I was preparing snacks, clearing up empty beer bottles etc etc. My body is very eina today.

EmsMom I envy your spa day!!!!!! lucky lucky you :)
Mistymom - I am SUPER jealous about your breakfast!! I am starving!!
Kimika - enjoy the expo today!!!! Hope hubby is patient!
Cath - how was your scan??
