Meags, Im going Sunday morning. Going to be there as soon as the doors open!!! I dont want to be part of the rush and Sunday is the only day I can go. I dont think Ill be going for a 4d scan there.. if I go and I pay that kinda money I want them to take their time and not be rushed because there are 10 other ladies waiting! So Ill wait and rather go week after. I forgot the lady in pta that I always used to go to is also at the show doing scans, so I cant book with her over the weekend! duh..

Faw, yippee on the bleeding stopping!!!! Ill hold thumbs the wind stops blowing so you can earn some $$$$$ xxx

Not much to report on my side.. cant believe Ill be 26wks tomorrow.. shoo!!

Hi girls.
The bleeding has stopped thank goodness and i pray it stays that way.
Worked half day today and seems it will be the same tomorrow. If i don't work i don't get paid which is stressing me out quite a bit, but i can't stop the wind from blowing. Worked half day saturday and tuesday last week and many other days. Eish. At least im getting paid on thursday but it just covers the bare essentials..will have to wait another month to think about buying some chocolate. Lol.
I have decided at the last minute im having a baby shower on the 5th of december. I still have to send out invites. Im going to host it myself and going to have a tea, im doing the tea because i have non muslim friends and muslim friends and don't have the finances for anything fancy. Cakes, biscuits, tea and coffee will have to do. Last time my mom and neighbour went to major efforts with the food and then more than half of the ppl didn't pitch, so we gave a lot of it to poor people but it was so much stress. Also decided to do it before christmas because my son came early and im scared the same will happen this time. Im starting from scratch though as all my stuff is with my husband and im not going back to fetch it, its too risky and would rather just start fresh. Im blessed though as an islamic charity that deals with abused and abandoned women have started to collect baby things for me. I didn't ask for their help, but i think my moms one friend is very worried and went and spoke to them, so everything will work out for the best.
Still no word from my husband but im very happy here and smiling. Was so happy today to be at work and was smiling like a clown and everyone is wondering what im up to. Lol, if only they knew.

Joli agreee about carewell bras and not much support...i sleep in mine...never slept in bras before but trying to look after bobbies while preggies as best i can! DId you tell your boss via sms?? wow! He cant demand a sick note if you were only off 1 day - the law is after 2 days! Ooh he sounds awful!! On a brighter note...your baby shower is soon!!! Good idea before xmas!

Schatsie - yay on check up with doc! Yes i feel like that sometimes...you not alone! Although if had to have baby now would also be in a panic as feel so unprepared at times!! congrates on cervix!!!! LOL

Tazzy...colostrum??? when should I expect that to kick in....??? Freak. My boobs are so big and sore...even sleeping in a bra!

Afm - so exhausted so in bed already!!! See there seems to be some drama going doing on a thread so going togo read now! All i can say before reading it is that there is no right or wrong! Everybody is differnt and I think we are so lucky as women to be pregnant in this day and age and not a hundred years ago where pregnancy could be a death sentance - oh yes and 5 days in bed a month when you were unwell!!! (although i might not mind that now and then!)

Tazzy other symptoms can be:
burning when you wee
vomitting
fever
lower abdominal cramps

but sometimes if it's just a slight infection, you wont have any of those.
hmm...you could see a GP or you can try Citro Soda for a day and see if it helps before seeing the GP?

Kimika, what day are you going to the baby expo? I am dying to see baby again and now thinking of going just for the scan!
but then I want to go Thursday as soon as they open so I make sure I get a scan

meags What other symptoms would I have if it were a bladder infection? My gyn checks my urine every visit but my next app is only 10 dec..... do u think I should go see my gp?

Tazzy, ooo Im in no way getting ready for this baba! All Ive done is plan a duvet for my son since he is moving to a big boy bed. I havent done any sowing for a whole week so Im still stuck where I started off. Ill prob have time after this weekend.

Babyshower I think will tell my mom to do on the last weekend of jan. I dont think its too late, for second child I dont need that much stuff and will prob ask for clothes, toys or vouchers. For a first child I would say between 25wks and 30wks to make sure you have enough time to go buy what is left on your list.

Joli, glad all went so well with your scan and that your little baba is growing so well Dont worry now too much about the weight... they do seem to grow in different spurts so maybe he/she will slow down later on. Maybe its a sign that its a boy?? I just had to say that! hehe.. with my son gynae kept telling me he is trending towards 3.8kg but that she thinks he wont get bigger than 3.2kg and that is exactly where he stopped.

As for the bra's once again Im saying goodluck on finding something remotely nice! Im going to buy that carriwell one for R280 with the thinner straps that dont have that round part that squishes your boobs. They look very supportive. With my son I had those Edgars specials and they are uuuugly and not wonderbra supportive but they do the job.

Tearing only thing I can say is to do those massages from 36wks and then Im sure the midwives at Genesis will make sure you give birth slowly enough to not tear.

Ag dont worry about your boss.. if he is upset about it then he will get over it eventually!

Schatsie, happy that you, baby and cervix is well hehe.. I think its totally normal to feel parenoid about stuff and wondering if everything is ok. You cant see inside your body and see baby to see if all is well so you just have to trust that its ok. Once you feel those strong kicks you do get more piece of mind because you can kinda regulate if baby is active and feel that he/she is doing well.

Lucy, LOL at the petunia bit If you are worried about leaking then just go buy some breastpads. Try find some that are nice and thin so they wont look bulky. Ive heard many women saying they get lots of leakage beforehand so you shouldnt be too worried.. at least you know things are happening in there

Regarding the c/s thread I always read them as I love the soapie drama You know that Im quite passionate about giving natural birth, although I must admit that it still scares me. So Im totally understanding of women who have a huge fear of natural birth (my SIL is like that and I can never imagine her being forced into vaginal delivery.. she would die!!) I have that same fear of having a c-sec so I wouldnt like being forced into it! So really it comes down to respecting peoples decisions and understanding where they come from. Ill never judge anyone on their decision on birth. So thats my bit .. I also try not get too involved in those discussions.. they kinda make your popularity drop to either way.

Tazzy - burning pubic pain can be a sign of bladder infection or your ligaments stretching. as for a baby shower in january - I dont think it's too late. mine will also be in january just before i immigrate. been quiet today as i was visiting a friend in springs

Joli - ignore your evil boss. what an A-hole. what did your girls weigh at birth? perhaps baby has just been through a growth spurt now... you can do perineal massage from about 36 weeks to lessen your chance of tearing.

Schatsie - glad all is ok. as for paranoia...i think I take the cake!
For the first 2 weeks I did a blood test atleast 2-3 times per week to make sure my HCG levels were rising. I had a scan at work at 7, 8 and 10 weeks. I have only worn white panties since finding out I'm pregnant to make sure I see any funny discharge or bleeding. I bought the fetal doppler so when I dont feel him moving, I check he's still alive! Yes, I am 100% paranoid!!

Lucy - it is totally normal about the leaking breasts. you can wear breast pads if you need to. I know Sarah from another thread had to use breast pads as she was leaking a lot
