Betty = Welcome!!! Hope you have a great time over here with us!

Kaylaye, my word but your lucky to not have weight gain issues :)

Lucy, loooking gooood hot mamma!!

Joli, spoiling yourself with some nice clothes is def not a reason to feel guilty!! Sometimes we just need a bit of a lift that new goodies bring ;)

Schatsie, ahh sorry things are not going so well :( But Im sure your little bean is well. Spend the 3wks chatting with us and hopefully it will go by fast! *hugs*

Emsmom, what a super dream ! Now I can say I hope your dreams come true ;)

Yipee for the halfway mark Jessica, Joli and Karin!!

Girls have any of you heard from Tazzy??? She hasnt been around for quite a while now and as always Im getting worried :( TAZZY MISSING YOU!!!

Cath, enjoy the trip!

Hayley, hi friend!! When are you getting the shot???

AFM: Appointment with gynae went great! My son behaved all the time and was his normal super cute self :) shoo and thank goodness! He only started unpacking her cupboard as she was finishing up but that scored me a free sample of vitamins so no biggie ! lol

Ok the baby also doing fantastic. The growth is a perfect average and she compared it to my son and they are exact at this stage. Also happy with the heart, brain etc. We got a very clear shot of his little face so we could see perfectly that there is no cleft-lip and the little chin and nose perfectly formed :) He was ofcourse this time showing off his bits in almost every shot.. little rascal! He is 430g now at 21wks. So Im happy! Im sorry hubby missed the appointment but she printed him a cute little pic of the jewels ;)

Happy friday to everyone!!! xxx

Joli - You hit the nail on the head about how I feel!! I am not unhappy about a girl just sad to lose Seb! He was very real to us!

Cath - I live on the north coast and I am afraid I do think rain is on the way ..... although I am in Durbs now and sometimes it can be very different weather between the 2! So glad you are well.

Scatshie - The fold is one measurement out of a whole load of stats that they put together. Keep the faith and you will have the strength to deal with whatever you have to, but I am sure all will be well!

Oops gotta go. Sorry can't finish personals. Thanks for all the well wishes ladies. Have a super weekend. Will try chat later

oh Lord Lucy imagine that, but also quite funny! :) You can tell your little girl that her arrival really made you - and your moomie friends - realise that nothing is certain ever! :) Nice names you have picked!

Schatsie that must be big shock! My experience has been that those tests are very often wrong, but it's good to be careful and err on the side of caution which is probably what your gynae is doing. Thinking of you.

AFM, in KZN working and dh arrived last night so we'll spend weekend on the north coast - no sun so far :(

Feeling great, life so good, God so good, dh just too wonderful, lots of little flutters from Wills, no kicks as yet. Can't wait to let dh be able to feel! I was running a workshop yesterday and there were lots of movements from Wills!

Maryke is away so I'm only seeing her 8th November - the longest I've gone without a scan - 1 month - but will try my best to be patient!

Have a lovely weekend ladies!

Schatsie ~ Oh Im so sorry for the stress and worry you are now going through. :(
I unfortunately have first hand knowledge of those feelings. My blood test results came back that I am high risk for Downs and my numbers were lower than they were supposed to be. 1:161 instead of 1:440 for my age.
My baby's nuchal fold measured fine though, 1.2mm. My doc said that the max they look at is 3mm, so you are still borderline, it might still mean all is well.
Just remember that these tests and the blood test are not always very accurate... lots of times the results are thrown out by certain factors.
Anyway, the only way to really know for sure is to go for the amnio. And yes, for safety reasons you have to wait until 16wks.
I went for an amnio, but unfortunately mine failed, dr. tried twice and it didn't happen, I walked out of there with two punctures and no fluid pulled to have tested, but I also walked out with the certainty that I dont need to know anymore, I trust in God and will cope.
I know what your going through... its hard and its sad. My advise is to empower yourself with knowledge. If you can, go on the net and google amniocentesis and cases similar to yours. You might not always see positive outcomes, but I promise you there are more positive than negative. But if you think it might upset you more, then rather not. And also, if you want you can google downs and get the correct information, as I've learned that people have a terrible misconception of it.

Good luck and keep the Faith.
If you need someone to talk to, I'll be here.
(((hugs)))

Morning girls!

Yeah for Friday!! :woohoo:

Lucy ~ Oh my goodness! I don't know what to say... CONGRATULATIONS!! Yeah for Team PINK!! It's so cool, we are really growing in numbers now.
Im sorry about saying goodbye to the little boy you were imagining already, but hey, at least now you gona have a little girl to dress up, cuddle and buy pretty things for!

EmsMom ~ Cool dream!! Sorry about feeling sick still though. Hope you get well over the weekend.

Rakker ~ oh no man... sorry about the possibility of anemia. But its good that they pick it up earlier rather than too late, may everything turn out well.

Welcome to the new ladies!! May your have awesome pregnancies and enjoy your chats here. ;)

AFM: Doing well, half way now!! :woohoo: Phoned my medical aid this morning and got my reference number for when I might go book my bed in the next month or two.
It all is starting to really feel "real" now! Gosh... I got a list of goodies that baby needs and starting ticking it off to see what I still need for her and well... sheez, I need to get to shops soon to stock up it seems.

Lucy!!!! OMW! I can believe at this stage you are not sure if you must laugh or cry. I think it is best if you do a bit of both, but end with the laughing and some serious PINK shopping.

My BP was quite low yesterday, so the gynae had my hemoglobin level tested as the low BP can be a a symptom of anemia. IT actually makes perfect sense as I had the following symptoms associated with anemia the last 5 days:

-Nausea (go figure) - There is an explanation for my "returned" MS.
-Head ache (5 days in a row now with Panado having no effect at all)
-Dizziness
-Fatigue, both physical and mental (brain fog)
-Sleeplessness (I have never ever had this before)
-Raised heart rate (quite noticeable)
-Getting out of breath without doing real exercise (walking up 1 flite of stairs gets me huffing and puffing)
-Low BP

So, now we're just waiting for the blood test results so we can start treating it.
