Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is well.

Update on myself:

*My baby was born at 36 weeks (on 3rd Nov), weighed 2,1kg

*2weeks later i was hospitalised (operation on my breast because of absis)

*Had to stop breastfeeding. Cried my eyes out. Even though breastfeeding was painful, it was intimate and i had galore milk.

*using NAN 1

*Then baby started having bad reflux

*Peads referred us to Radiologist for Xrays to see how stomach looks like and what's going on there.

*have to feed her less more often as stomach small seeing she was a premie.

Happy to report that my baby Oyisa is 3.1kg, 51cm and took her to her 6 week immunisation on wed. We are both doing great!!!

I'm so happy with her but sad that hubby left RSA and will not be with us for Xmas.

I take Ty to the clinic every week to be weighed and last week he didnt put any weight on

He always seems hungry. I think I might have to suppliment his feed with formula if he hasn't put on weight at next weeks weigh in.

Nipples are still in agony...

Hi ladies.

My boobs are sore. Nipples feel like they are going to fall off.

I'm standing in the sun without a top on just to allow my breasts to get some sun and air. Hope it helps.

Night shifts are bearable. He just wants to stare into space, suck on his finger/hand and just smile at me. It's quite cute.

How are you ladies doing?

There are about four different nans. I was told just to use the regular newborn one unless specific issues arise.

Google- so tough to not know if we're over or under feeding them.
Breast feeding is tough. Sore nipples are the worst. Thats about all i get. They are worst when i put him on the breast and becomes easier.
Which Nan are you using? I noticed that they werent the same. Theres a Nan HA and another one. How does one choose?

GML, i seem to get abou fifty mils per breast in the mornings but about half that in the evenings. But i don't think i will continue breastfeeding, as much as i would love to, just seems to cause too much pain for baby. Can't understand why though, not sure if its something in my diet she doesnt like.

In hospital i was breastfeeding and topping up with twenty five mils of Nan, now without breasfeeding she has between fifty and seventy five mils of Nan at a time, sometimes she keeps crying till she gets one hundred mils. Not sure if we are overfeeding her but she just seems so HUNGRY all the time and will scream till shes blue if she doesn't get enough!

Google- the leak in my spine was sealed. I felt mulch better immediately after they sealed it.

50 ml from one bboob or both?
Lesego seems to be feeding properly and sleeps whilst on the boob. I suppose if he was hungry then he would cry (which he's not).

What formulas are you ladies using? Paed said if lesego is not full after breast, we must suppliment him with 25ml of Nan or S26. Are any of you ladies using these formulas?
