I tell them if they not going to stop, I'm going to SMACK THEM! But I don't ever smack so I don't know why I say it!

And I hate it, but I do say - YES YOU SEE, YOU DIDN'T WANT TO LISTEN! Shame.

LOL @ Claire!!

My LG is only 13 months but is already driving me insane!! All day long its "Kyk Daar" and pointing to something!! Then you must name whatever she is pointing at!!
Also one of her favourites is "Nee!". Ask her to give you something its "NEE". When she's naughty and you wanna discipline her - "NEE"!
Still got to get to where you girl are!! Scary stuff! Practising a stern face and "Cos I say so!" already!!
;)

So, talking about toddler logic, what are the inane things you find yourself saying to them ?

One of the sentences I cringe whenever I say it (and I found it popping out often) is "I am the adult around here" - like duh, I'm sure even a toddler can see this.

Oh and the other one is "Don't look so surprised, if you want to jump off the couch, you will probably land on the table and bump your head"

And "Of course he is gonna cry if you whack him with a metal spoon"

And lastly "What were you thinking" - obviously if he HAD been thinking, he would not have done it

 I'm also guilty to the - because I said so!! I do try to answer as many questions as possible but then she just keeps saying BUT WHY??!!

And Kayla (she's 6) watched 7de Laan the other night with me and when Emma was crying cause she was preggars Kayla looked at me and said: Why is she crying? She shouldn't have had sex if she didn't want a baby?!! Well I had no answer for that!

JOLI - I thought it was also much later too! Goodness knows what they'll be asking at age 3/4!!!

LOL@Claire! I also said the same. Today I said once or twice "because that's how it is" - terrible, lol, but he asks about 4 "WHY" questions in a row and I run out of answers and novel ways of explaining. Ah well, tomorrow is a new day and we can try to answer as many "WHY" questions as fully as possible ;)
