If you go to India and do the surrogacy there would be less, around R200k...

I've got a friend who is currently adopting a new born (due april) I will ask her as well what agency she is with.

Sue, firstly you need to cover the medical costs of your surrogate. - So basically pay all their doc bills, medical aid and life insurance monthly for a month before and 3 months after. Then the surrogate is compensated - on average around R100k.

You also need to pay legal fee's - and most lawyers charge up to R2k an hour to draft contracts etc.

Then of course there is the actual process of the IVF - yes the vertalised egg is put into the surrogate.

And the pysch screening and social workers.

The costs build up very quickly...
