I actually didn't ask him that :( Going to be interesting to see as my uterus hadn't even expanded so I'm hoping it will happen before my next cycle - fat chance... I'm really not sure when to start testing - I could simply leave it until the next proper cycle which I suppose I should but I'm actually curious so am going to start as soon as the bleeding has stopped.

With all three of my pregnancies I have fallen pregnant within 2 months so hopefully that trend continues!

I wish we could recommend threads!

Sterretjie I had family on the Sunday that the bad cramping & bleeding started and kept on disapearing so that I could do as much reading as possible as to what was going on. I eventually had to voice my suspicions. Then my mom and I had a crying session! So emotional.. Why were you worried about a tube pregnancy?

GW the roller coaster analogy is an apt one particularly for those that experience losses and fertility issues. I am determined to try again immediately but at the same time I absolutely dread it..I always used to remember reading stories of
losses, sometimes multiple losses never even imagining that I would become one of those "unfortunate" women. I don't think any of us do. I also agree that if we have all managed to have one succesful pregnancy the chances are high that it should happen again.

Me too Justine - my concern was another neural tube defect (my 1st loss) or Downs (I have moved from the 1:250 t0 1:100 category). An MC didn't even feature. I know so many women who have had succesful pregnancies in their 40s, that age was also never a fear especially as I work very hard at keeping fit and healthy and we have 0 family history of any TTC issues.

Carmen why? Is it the impact of the medication?

I find it frustrating not knowing the exact cause of an MC. Wish it was cheaper to do the tests. Come to think about it advances in this fields are actually quite slow.I heard the other day from a friend who is having tremendous TTC difficulties that they cannot in fact even tell whether ovulation has taken place with 100% certainty.

I can't wait to see where we all are in 18 months. Hopefully all complaining about
colic!

I guess its just not easy to think rationally when the implications of these odds are so long lasting and potentially life altering. actually its not easy to think rationally about anything when you're either saturated with all the temps/info/obsession that comes with TTC or, later on, battling a deluge of pregnancy hormones.

So true and well said.
