@ P4M1, you are 100% right, one pays the earth for a visit and then they want to rush you to get to the next patient. Hang R1400 is very steep and I am sure that they can charge just what they want to. I made a nuisance of myself at my last gynae visit and was asking so many questions and he looked like he was getting impatient Are you ready for this new fresh and positive cycle?

@ MTC, a lot of newly pregnant moms said that they didn't even feel pregnant so that could be a very good sign! I would be testing everyday

@ Anzel, don't give up hope my gynae said to me that 80% of women do not get pregnant on their first cycle of Fertomid The second cycle is always more promising. We are going to do two cycles of 50mg and if that doesnt work then two cycles of 100mg and then if we are not pregnant will take a break. After that we will look into IUI or something, my clock is ticking

@ Ninnies, I also use the Clicks OPK's but it gets too expensive for me as well as I want to test twice a day for a week and it burns a hole in my pocket. I haven't had any success with OPK's so I promised myself I would not use them in this cycle... lol.. that's what I say now

@ Babydream, I am glad everything is fine and you mustve been nervous just like i was, lol! Could she not see the follicles with the ultrasound? My gynae saw them or should I say lack thereof and thought that she would be able to confirm the size etc?

The test for FSH, LH, Oestrogen/Oestradiol, Progesterone, Infertility screening,TSH & TSH/T4 I had done a few months ago at Pathcare and they take some blood and do the tests in one go. The cost was R989

I am going for a Progesterone Day 21 (R163) test to check if I have ovulated after the Fertomid and if my levels are good then they are going to check the follicle size with the ultrasound again. Start Fertomid +- 10 April... cannot wait! Hope I have follicles this time!


The Gynae visit was R750 which included the ultrasound and luckily for me my medical aid covered R550. Everything is so expensive!!

Praying4miracle, the last time I saw my Gynae in January 2015 he mentioned something about PCOS but didn't mention it before and it seemed he picked it up by doing a scan, no blood work... So I'm not sure how the hell he picks up PCOS on a scan....

To be honest I've also felt left in the dark after many visits to OB/Gyn
It's like they want you to feel that way so that they make sure you come back next time and not only that, their visits are super short mine was only 20-25min at a time and it felt rushed!
I guess every Gyne is different!?!
How much did you pay? Mine was R1400 per visit
Anyway at least your Ovaries and uterus look good

I don't understand why it's so hard to get preggy! I really never thought it would be such a stressful loooooooong wait.
