@Anzel - Awesome, thanks for the info. Do you need a prescription to buy this?
The doctor put me on Utrogestan which is a progesterone to ensure the little bean sticks. I think it helps to keep the progesterone levels high until such time when they dont need to be high anymore.

I got my conceive plus from Dischem. Not on the same shelf as the usual lubricants and condoms, but with the fertilaid, sperm aid etc. It comes in two variants - one box containing 3 applicators and one box containing a tube. It costs about R 140.00. I got the applicators and only used it twice in my fertile time as we did not really try and bd every day as we also knew there is not enough swimmers.
Your Hubby's count is quite high, but it might be other factors influencing it like the shape and mobility.
I am holding thumbs that you dont need to go the IUI route either.

More info on inofolic:

Inofolic is a combination of myo-inositol and folic acid, which improves the metabolic and hormonal disorders, regulates menstrual cycles and improves fertility.

Increases Egg Quality, Ideal for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) patients.
Normalises Insulin Levels in patients who are insulin resistant.
Normalises low estrogen levels within 8 days after 1st sachet
Promotes Healthy Eggs.
Corrects High Free Testosterone Levels

Myo-Inositol is a key ingredient found in the folicular fluid of healthy eggs.
Patients who have been diagnosed with PCOS or older patiens often lack myo-inositol and therefore create lower quality eggs, thereby diminishing the chances of a successful pregnancy.

It normalises the metabolic, hormonal and folicular processes in the body. PCOS patients often have difficulty losing weight as a result of being insulin resistant. Inofolic will help with this too.

The following hormones play an important role in the cycle of a woman,
Estrogen
Follicle Stimulation hormone (FSH)
Luteinizing hormone (LH)

In order for a woman to fall pregnant, it is important that the female hormones are in balance. If one of the female hormones are imbalanced, the function or production of other hormones may be compromised.

It is also important to note that other hormones, for example insulin that is a metabolic hormone, may also influence the production of female hormones.

The production of female hormones works in a cycle and if any of the hormones is not produced or not regulated in sequence, the cycle is broken or disappears.

The production of estradiol in the ovaries is critical for the regulation and release of:
Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) – remember FSH is responsible for the recruitment and development of follicles (bag in which eggs develop) and the oocytes (eggs).
Luteinizing hormone (LH) that is responsible for the release of a dominant egg during ovulation.

Without the regulation of estrogen, the brain will increase FSH and LH levels. An increase in the FSH levels will result in a number of follicles to develop but no egg may be released because the LH levels is higher than normal but does not peak to cause ovulation.

Woman is born with a fixed number of follicles (± 400 thousand). Several follicles will grow per month but normally only one dominant follicle will release its egg (ovulation).

After ovulation, the follicle that releases the egg will become a corpus luteum that produces progesterone to prepare the uterus for implantation (thickening of the endometrium) of the embryo. If ovulation does not take place, progesterone levels may not increase and there may be no menstruation phase because the endometrium did not develop.
The quality of all the follicles is not the same and several factors may have an influence on the normal development of the follicle and egg. Normally the best quality follicles will be used during the early reproductive stage and as the women gets older (above 35), the number of follicles, and the quality of the follicles will decrease until none follicles are left (menopause).

It is good to be back, ladies. :) I've missed our discussions and the motivation!

@Ninies - Congrats with your BFP! I'm so excited for you! It's been a long wait for you as well. Holding thumbs for a sticky bean.

Inofolic is very good, apparently. Can be used througout pregnancy to avoid miscarriages, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. It also helps with PCOS, Insulin Resistance, hormonal imbalances and overal mood. So I'm going to give it a try.

Where would I get hold of conceive plus? Would like to give it a try! Hopefully we conceive naturally before our IUI. Would prefer not to go that route, but because hubby has genetic factor, it might be necessary. :) Hubby's count has increased with staminogro from 13mill to over 15mill, which is a good sign. Hoping now that sperm-i-prove will increase it even more. FS wants it to be more than 40mill. That is a lot of swimmers!!! Hehheheh! :)

Here is the link to Inofolic, if anyone is interested. :)

Anyway, @ Chanti, holding thumbs for you too, babe. Studying is hard word! So glad I'm finishing up soon. Tired of studying and assignments! LOL! Because I have PCOS, I don't ovulate on my own. So Fertomid should work with that, I hope. It's just getting hubby's count up that's the challenge. We are eating healthy, exercising and doing a lot of BDing, so hoping for a natural BFP within the next few months. Vitamins apparently take a while to really work...

@Chanti - I am glad AF is behaving thus far. Your temps sounds good.
I see Preg omega has 795 micrograms of Folic acid - so might be a good idea to get an extra supplement that is atleast 5mg.

Hallo Ladies,

I am still hanging around here as I just simply cannot get myself to leave you guys.
@Anzel - so glad to hear from you and so glad that you are back on this journey.
I am glad you have been to a FS, and atleast you know what is going on. Just dont loose hope. During our IUI we only discovered that DH has very low sperm count. Something ridiculous like 10 000 sperms where it should be 15-100 million. My initial thought was that 10 000 is alot as you really only need one.
Our IUI was unsuccessful and we were going to see the urologist but then got our BFP a week before we had our appointment.
I am still convinced it was because of conceive plus that we got our BFP. I just figured that if there is sperm lets help them get to their destination and that is what conceive plus does.

Well done on the weight loss. I also read that the banting lifestyle improves PCOS. But atleast you know it can be rectified.

Is the inofolic a prescribed medication? I have not heard of it yet.

@Chanti - How was AF this cycle? Almost time to play with your gadgets!!!

Just some info on folic acid for you ladies - I used to buy the ones on the shelf - Solal to be more specific. The bottle says it contains 800 folate. When we were at my doctor he asked if I am taking enough folic acid and I told him what I am taking. He then explained to me that we need atleast 5mg per day and that the 800 on the solal is actually 800 micrograms. There is 1 microgram in 0.001 miligrams. He then prescribed Be Tabs Folic acid 5mg for me and it is actually a schedule 1 which you get over the counter. I would suggest you ladies get at least 5mg per day. The cost was R 27 for 100 tablets.

I am well - 6 weeks and 2 days today. Bit of morning sickness in the mornings, where I cannot get myself to eat. I can eat a bit later in the morning. I am very very tired and can have a nap at 10am! :silly:
But otherwise I am fine and I am routing for each and everyone of you for a BFP so you can join me in another group.

@Anzel - Its so good to hear from you again and I am so glad you haven't given up on the TTC journey! I think the most wonderful BFP that is sticking in my mind is @ninies, her DH had extremely low sperm count and they used conceive plus and got their BFP in the same month! I think we are all secretly hoping the same miracle plays out for the rest of us this month as quite a few of us have gotten our hands on some conceive plus..

With regards to the various vitamin supplements you are on, I have also heard that those are extremely vital in the TTC journey and I hope that they help you get ur BFP. I personally have also tried to up those same mentioned vitamins this cycle and try find my balance.

Weldone on ur weightloss! 16kg's is phenomenal! It's amazing how for some ppl their hormones are perfectly in balance and the rest of us sit here thinking how the hell did we get so unbalanced??? Im really holding thumbs that you are able to conceive naturally and avoid all the medicated options, I don't think we have had anyone here get their BFP on Fertomid yet, they did get confirmed ovulation but it didn't result in a BFP but I think the general consensus is that a BFP usually happens after coming off Fertomid?.. You are doing really well with the studying and I take my hat off to you! I have just finished my degree with UNISA and I really don't want to study anymore.
