Liza - charting temps only shows when you ovulated, so it's totally pointless for knowing when to dtd, it only helps you see after the fact if you did do it on the right days. If you're wanting to make sure you dtd on time then opks would be a much better bet.

MTC - That sounds tricky knowing that your ovaries don't release the eggs. Good luck with the waiting.

AnzelMama - Strangely enouhg I actually think the checkers cheap ones R12.99) read the lowest amount of hcg. Theirs is 20miu. I've checked the clicks boxes countless times and I don't think it actually specifies how much. There was one that was only 50miu I think but I can't remember which that was. I would say wait until at least 10dpo to test, 12 is better but it is sometimes possible to get a result on 10dpo. If you want a truly accurate result then a blood test would give you a much truer reading, but that's like R100 vs R13 for an hpt.

@Liza - Its also our first month so don't have too much advice. I have started temping but much too late to use for this cycle. I use a digital thermometer I got at clicks for about R40 and take it first thing in the morning under my tongue. If I don't get a BFP this month then I will continue with the temping and I will start with my OPK around the fertile period.

I have checked dates and calculated more or less when ovulation will take place.

I was thinking of purchasing a themomoter? Do they help?

Chanti, thank you hun... Like I said im not gonna get my hopes up and I aint symptom spotting this month, done to much of that in the past and I just got let down...

My problem is I don't actually release the egg outta the ovary, so I tend to have a negative attitude of "what's gonna make a difference this month" which I know I shouldn't and a part of me tries to stay positive but I think my CM doesn't play with either which in turn makes it difficult for the sperm to swim too..

But we shall see..

@Anzel - How many DPO are you? Im sure you can use some of the tests like clearblue from about 10DPO
